the first thing that happened when we walked in was waiting for a few minutes while one greeter was answering stupid questions and a second greeter was behind the first staring into space. now that that's out of the way.
the atmosphere was great. we walked to our seating in the upstairs area and you could tell everyone there was happy or content. we sat down and ordered some beers. the porter was good.
we ordered the artichoke dip appetizer. we had more things to dip than dip itself... the food portions, however, were huge.
our server messed up our bill and mischarged us for something but she quickly fixed the problem.
in the end it was an ok dining experience.

Food is inexpensive and truly a bargain. Beer is great a ton of select good tasting beers. Avalanche is a big hit but I think just because of the name and the town it's in. Overall a nice experience. Nice happy hour $2 beers. Can't beat that with a stick. Appetizers include sausage with BBQ sauce - which I would recommend. Also ribs and wings. Sampler platter is $7, includes 3 wings, 3 ribs and a half dozen sausages in BBQ sauce.
2 people, 3 good beers and 2 appetizers. 30 bucks. In Denver that is areal nice deal.
By the way I would recommend the 471 IPA. MMM. MMM. Good.

We drove on over to Breckenridge BBQ after kenneling my pup. I wanted to go here but there isn't any patio so no pooches. It's south of Denver and we lost our GPS signal going there but were able to find it. There is plenty of free parking so getting a spot was not hard.
The first thing you notice is the full bar. Most of the action was at the bar, probably regulars. There are booths and tables for two of four. We were seated immediately and our server came over soon afterwards and we ordered a couple of beers and brought them over quickly.
We split a platter and since it was Thursday we get a free beer. The overall cost is reasonable and several employees came over to make sure everything is ok. A brewery tour started up and they came back all smiles. The place started to really get busy. We missed the rush.
I had the Lucky U IPA and a Summerbright Ale. Neither were my to my liking but the styles are usually what I prefer. The BBQ meats were good, the cole slaw was ok but the mac and cheese looked and tasted like it was the kind you buy and then the added bacon bits to the top. Overall, the food was just ok but not satisfying.

Located a fair bit south and west of the most of the beer 'action' in Denver. Not sure I'd walk the 10+ blocks from the Convention Center south the Breckenridge Brewing. Kalamath is a one-way street heading south, so you will need to approach from the north. Parking can be a bit tough during peak hours.
Upon entering, guests encounter a portion of the bar, the take-out portion of the restaurant (left), and cooler with bottles for sale (hard right). Turn right to enter the main dining area, which winds around a bit further to the right. Decor is wood with beerania and beer poster/pictures on the walls. Seating is cozy and the BBQ smell wonderful. In the back, past the bathrooms is a room for private parties. Menu offers a wide selection of BBQ and some typical pub fare. BBQ is decent, but this is not a place for vegetarians. Seeking a light bite one time, I ordered the red beans & rice and was disappointed. Service is knowledgeable, friendly, and timely.

Tried this place out a few weeks ago while dropping off bottles for the NHC competition as this was a drop-off point (and also hosted the NHC judging, big thanks to you guys!!! You made us all right at home and provided excellent service to judges and stewards).
The BBQ is pretty dang good! I mean its not Kansas City or anywhere in Texas quality BBQ, but tasty. And cheap! 1 meat and a side was 5.50, and I didn't leave hungry. Heck I barely finished. The food is beyond reasonable in the price department, and through my 1st visit, as well as the catering for the NHC on both days I was able to sample even more of their food. All excellent!
The beer is, well, average for a BA, but a step above most other beers. I enjoy a few of the seasonals and some of the small batch (the address is 471....so when you see the 471 labeled bottles, those are the small batch/experimental) The CDA was pretty good, and I'm a huge fan of the Imp Pilsner. I missed Pandora's Bock by about a week they said, and thats one of my absolute favorite beers.
If you are in town, check it out. They have daily happy hour specials, monday was like 2.50 pours and cheap food. Give the locals some business and get away from the "beer scene" in LoDo for a change

Located right across the street from Coors Field. Good luck finding a seat just before or after a Rockies game. So I decided to visit the place long after the game was over, and glad I did. I tried each of their beers from the sampler. With a taste of the hops being my choice, I settled in on the Avalanche Amber and pale ale. The patrons were friendly and entertaining, talked a lot of baseball with me, and the bartending staff were a lot of fun. The whole brewpub had a lot of character and a very laid back attitude as well. I purchased a great looking black t-shirt with their logo on the front and one on the back with the Rocky Mountains that reads: "Hand-crafted ales".

Very nice place in downtown Denver. Big warehouse style eatery. There is a big bar with all of Breckenridge's beers on tap. The Small Batch beers on tap when I was there was Thunder Stout and 471 IPA. They offer 10oz or 20oz pours on all of their beers. The menu is very big and the service was good on our visit. I had a plate of ribs and french fries that was very tasty. The prices on everything are very reasonable. There is tons of swag for sale up front. I bought their pint glass special at 4 glasses for $10. Kid friendly as well. I enjoyed my visit.

I need to get back to this place as one night during the week they have all you can eat BBQ ribs. But onto the brewpub itself. Stopped here in early afternoon and had a few pints. Place was very full and had good atmosphere, although seemed more like an Applebys or something like that... which is good but not great. It appeared that they had their standard line up plus a couple seasonals, but nothing too wild or crazy to get me excited. As I said, oddly their food seemed more appealing to me than their beer, which I'm not sure if it is good or not. As I said before I will stop again next time I'm in Denver and try to get the whole experience this time.

Another random Denver beer spot I'd never been into just because of it's relatively odd location.
When you walk in, there's a normal sized bar with a dozen or so taps behind it, but only 5-6 chairs. A quick glance reveals that they not only have the standard Breckenridge beers (Avalanche, Agave Wheat, etc.) but they also have all of the seasonals, all of the 471 brews, and a few random one-off beers like a Saison. While I'm not a huge fan of many of their everyday brews, I really do like their 471 line-up, most of their seasonals, and I love the oatmeal stout. Happy hour beers are only $2.50 (any of them), and pitchers were cheap, too. Those prices are pretty much unmatched if you like any Breck beers.
Service was surprisingly good considering it was a Friday night and there were really only 4 employees running the whole place.
BBQ is solid. I had the Carolina pork (which really did taste more authentic than I expected, even if it isn't my favorite), and the sausages with some mac & cheese and potato salad. All of the items would've been received well in the southeast, which is always a good reference point for BBQ.
It's still a little out of the way to get to, and parking is a little hit or miss...but I like this place. If I were closer I'd probably end up here a lot.
EDIT: Now that Breck and the Wynkoop are on the same team, they also have beers from the 'Koop, too. I've also found that the 10th and Osage light rail stop can make this place a little more approachable, but it's still a bit inconvenient. I'd guess that once Santa Fe starts to fill in a bit more, we might see the light rail path get an additional stop that's much closer to this area.

First off let me say that some of the food is reasonably priced. However, What is with charging 4 dollars for a pint of YOUR OWN BEER! There food is good though. I had a nice pork sandwich.
This place has a laid back atmosphere. The employees know some about the beer. I try hard not to hold it against them that some of their taps poured nothing but head and foam.
They have all of their beers there with a couple of other brews. They make a decent amount of beer for everyone from light beer to RIS.
They have some tvs to watch. It could be a nice place to watch a football game. It's definetly a place to try when in Denver.
