Most people in the area I've talked to said Brixx was nothing all that amazing, an average pizza and beer place at best. My wife and I are both quite the pizza snobs, and with my own recent interest in beer, we took our small children tonight.

The atmosphere was somewhat non-existant. It didn't scream "family" but then again it I can't see it as the greatest place to go with friends and drink. It's open and airy, with quite a bit of an echo. No pizza or beer posters adorning the walls, just a few "hip" lights hanging from the ceiling. The constant flow of people in and out was a little annoying.

Quality was great. With 25 or so taps on constant rotation, everything was bound to be fresh. Pint glasses were chilled though.

I was pretty unimpressed by the service. Our waitress was minimally attentive, and rushed us with our order. My wife and I took 2 seconds to confirm getting an appetizer or not and in that short period of time the waitress managed to bark "I'LL BE RIGHT BACK" and flew away. Otherwise I had to flag her down for another beer, she didn't check on us at all after bringing us our food, and wasn't friendly at all.

Great selection of micros on tap, but only a few imports. Lots of different breweries and styles represented, as well as local stuff like Red Oak, Highland, and Natty Greenes.

Loved the food. The "gourmet" combinations of toppings really appealed to me, and there were some more typical combinations for those less adventurous. I really enjoyed the thin crust style.

Being that we went on a Monday night, the pints were $1.50 which is always a great deal. Otherwise the beer prices seemed reasonable enough, and the food was very well priced. Considering pizzas of this size with this number of toppings from most places, Brixx's was a great value.

Me and my girlfriend came here tonight after the Sticks and Stones was packed. Needless to say this was world class for a pizza bar, as good or better than what we were planning on visiting. 20 taps with well rounded choices of styles, but pretty heavy on the IPAs to suit the masses. Either way this is worthy of coming back again and again as this is pretty much the best super thin flatbread crust pizza I've had, and there is every style of pizza imaginable. Great apps and other things as well. Multiple locations around the area means more tap lists to check out, and it seems like they always keep something new in the rotation, so I see no reason not to keep returning. Seemed a bit slower than expected around 830PM, but the service was the best we've seen in a while. Great modern interior vibe with the pizza oven clearly visible in the center. Love it.

Family friendly - which is nice because I visited with my wife and daughter after her work's "children's xmas party." There were a number of other tables in the restaurant with children at them though I do have to note that all of the children were very well behaved. The restaurant has a nice energy to it with a respectable amount of background noise which does not interfere with conversation.

Beers were served at proper temperature and the bottles came with a pint glass (though I was pleased to be given a room temperature pint glass which the waitress apologized for). Since I poured from the bottle myself it was a good poor. The APA I ordered was quite fresh tasting.

The service was attentive and pleasant, not sure about the amount of craft beer knowledge that our server had but once I saw the $3.50 bottles I had no problem making my own suggestions.

As for selection, they had about 20-25 beers on tap as well as 25 bottles. There were a lot of seasonal beers on tap including Sierra Nevada Celebration, Smuttynose Winter, and Southern Tier 2Xmas. The selection was almost 100% craft with quite a few NC breweries featured. When I was there, they had about 5 Lagunitas bottles available as well.

I really enjoy the pizzas and salads at Brixx - I have been going to different restaurants over the years and it was a place that I missed when I lived in the greater NYC area (though there is plenty of great pizza places there). The pizza is on a very thin crust, barely more than a flatbread and the salads are very good.

As for the value, the prices on the menu seemed reasonable and in line with other places in the area but the specials were really good - all Sierra Nevada drafts $3 for December and $3.50 bottle on Thursdays (including a bunch from Lagunitas and Founders). They were also offering a 3 course mini-beer dinner for $21 as well on the night I visited.

Brixx features a lot of great beers on tap, and will often have specials on domestic beers. They do run out fairly frequently on days with the better specials but there are always options.
Food is excellent and after 10 pm, its buy one get one free for apps and pizzas. Only complaint is that it can be quite a bit of time between server trips to the table, so get all your drinks in at once or go thirsty.
There are wine and beer dinners once every other month or so. Be sure to look into their MBA program to earn free gifts and free food!

Stopped in here quite some time back to grab some food prior to hitting up some bars with an old friend that night. Been to the one in Greenville quite a few times, so I knew what to expect. Upon walking in I noticed that there was a lot more seating in this location than the one we have in Greenville. Also, the bar was much larger as well. Took a seat at the bar and helped myself to their sampler rack and a small pizza. There was a huge local influence on their beer selection here which I always like to see. Food is always great at just about every Brixx I have visited. Definitely a great place to stop in to grab a bite to eat and a brew or two with friends or the family.

We used to have one of these in Florida and I frequent the one in Greenville quite often so I knew just what to expect. Nice twelve inch pizzas with a decent, if not mainstream selection. Still though it could be worse, The taps they had Stella, Sam Adams, a youngs, were ok, but nothing to really alright home about, Still if you are going to go out for lunch somewhere this is a pretty good place. In and out quicly and easily without much effort. A nice place to eat, but there are better places to drink for sure.

Stopped here for lunch when I was in the area today. I was by myself, so I sat at the bar. The server was very nice and helpful. I ordered and my food arrived very promptly. Their tap selection was not as great as I was anticipating. From the reviews of this place, I was expecting some taps that were no where else in the area. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. Everything on the list, I had seen at other places around the area. I got the Bell's Two-Hearted in a room temp. pint glass. Hurray! As always, their food is stellar. This time around I got the BBQ Chicken Pizza, and it was great. Not a bad place to get some food and good beer, just don't expect to be blown away.

This is one of my all-time favorite spots in Greensboro and though I don't live there anymore, I always try to stop in if I'm in town. They have one of the better selections of craft beers in town. A good assortment of imports, domestics and even a few locals that are harder to find elsewhere and they're all on tap. Their stock is constantly changing so you're usually guaranteed something different every time you go in and they typically have something on special that's not listed on their menu so make sure to ask. They also usually have at least a couple of seasonal beers to choose from. On top of that the food is great and they do 2 for 1 pizzas after 10 and beer specials on Monday and Thursday. I think Monday is reduced price micros and Thursday is imports.

The down side is that if you don't go on a special night the beer seems a little pricey (around 5 bucks or more a glass). You can get some stuff on the cheap but overall I think you pay a little more than necessary. Also, they sometimes run out of beers which can be annoying. The other thing is the beer is served really cold to the point where sometimes there are ice chips floating in the top of the glass. Granted I can wait for it to warm a little but it's still kind of irritating and I'm impatient and thirsty.

The atmosphere is decent except when Monday Night Football is on when it can get kind of annoying and it can be smoky sometimes. The patio area outside is pretty relaxed and is usually nice for conversation when it's warm. All in all it's a good place to meet with a bunch of people late at night for beer and pizza and the few minor flaws are outweighed by the good qualities.

We have been to Brixx several times and have never been disappointed. They typically have a wide variety of beers on tap which is always a plus. They have a beer card program where you can get free stuff for trying all the beers. The only problem is they never have all of the beers on the card so you constantly have to find substitutes. Not a big deal. The pizza is very solid and the beer is very good. I would recommend this to anyone looking for good beer, good pizza and a laid back atmosphere.

This is my first trip to Brixx in Greensboro...

Atmosphere: Very clean and modern looking.... They have a small bar area right by the front door, to your left is a door going to the patio sitting... Very nice out there. The rest of the resturant has tall ceilings with a nice number of booths and tables, not to large. We sat in a booth right in front of the Wood Fired Oven... cool to watch them making pizza

Quality: Everything was top notch... I noticed other saying they beer was in a frosted glass... Thankfully mine was not... maybe they are learning.

Service: Waiter was very knowledgable about the beer on tap and food....

Selection: Nice selection of beers, about 20 taps 95% micros.... Being from VA, I got to try some NC beers....

Food: Pizza was very good.. Both the kid and wife liked everything we had... The Foothills Pilot Mountain was very good....

I visit this Brixx as much as possible when I'm in Greensboro, especially if they have specials! The beer selection is great, and the bartender is very knowledgeable! Also I just found out he is a home brewer, so even though I don't like sports we always have something to talk about.

This place has very high ceilings and is pretty small except for the patio which wasn't open because of the rain. The bar area and kitchen aren't big but both looked super clean. My only complaint was even when the sun had gone down it was still super bright in there!

I had a roast beef sandwich, it was pretty good. It came with some blue chips, they left something to be desired, but all and all a very good meal. They had several new beers this time, even a couple of taps I had never heard of. Usually I get one of their ESBs but there were none to be found! The bartender let me try a couple of different samples before I decided on an amazing stout, a Scottish ale, and a very hoppy Bells 2 hearted. It seemed to be the favorite of several others at the bar.

They had coasters for a couple of beers I wanted to try, but they didn't carry those beers, also they didn't have many imports despite the fact they have like 30 taps. The selection was much wider than I remember it being, and pretty much any kind of beer you can think of (except an ESB!, or porter!) is on tap. They even had the new Budwieser American Ale in bottle...and no I didn't try one! The bartender (who seems to be there nearly every time I visit) said nobody had ordered the American Ale yet, and they have had it for over a week!

No worries about the lack of imports there are plenty of great beers who are owned by Americans here in America! But I do hope this recession doesn't keep bars from getting great import beers! Either way this is the best selection in Greensboro.

My beers were in the 4$ range and the sandwich was less than 10$. The staff is an aesthetically pleasing and friendly one. Seems to be about the same people working when I come in, and I have been coming here for years. I love it!

If you're looking for a nice selection of beers of tap then Brixx Pizza is the place for you! It is one of the better places here in the Triad area for beers on tap other than cheap domestics. The carry all the big local brews from Natty Greene's, Foothills, and Highlands. This is one of the few places I found that had the Bell's Hopslam on tap. They carry a lot of seasonals so the tap menu changes often. I miss the DFH 90 min. Bring it back! Brooklyn is another great brewery they carry such as the Black Chocolate Stout. The food is great and honestly, what's better than pizza and 'good' beer! This is one of my favorite places for a nice afternoon beer and have great beer specials throughout the week.

I was in Greensboro for the day so we stopped in hoping to find some great beer and good pizza.

Brixx has quite a few on tap, maybe 20-25, but several seemed to be out and I didn't find the selection all that creative. They did have a few from Bells but they were out of Rogue Dead Guy and there was no Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA to be found. And as someone else here mentioned, they server the beer in a frosted mug so it actually comes with chunks of ice in it. That may be OK for an ordinary pilsner on a hot summer day but it just doesn't suit a nice IPA like Bells Two Hearted Ale. The pizza was pretty good but not outstanding.

While Brixx has a fair number of taps, they don't really know beer or cater to beer lovers. This isn't a bad place but don't go expecting something special.

I go to Brixx almost every Friday night after work. I enjoy the pizza but am most impressed with the beer selection. There is always a wide selection of beers available.
Brixx offers a great incentive for beer drinkers, the MBA (master beer appreciation). You try different beers and they mark off that you drank it. Complete the card and get a pizza party.
There are almost 30 beers on the list. I have had to drink things I didn't want to but did to finish the card.
They have a wide variety of beers to choose from, boring domestics, craft beers and several seasonals.
They are wonderful about letting you have a sample before you commit. Most of the bartenders are wonderful, I received some really crappy service from one of the bartenders on a few occasions. She seemed perfectly happy and Johnny on the spot for the male clients though. The rest of the staff has always been super friendly and accommodating.

Great pizza and great beer...a universally winning combination. As long as both pizza and beer are made with love.

Very happy to find that Brixx pizza is a damn fine pie. Not so much a pie because of the steamroller-flat crust, which was superb. The beer list was somewhere between adequate and impressive, standouts being stuff by Highland, Bell's Two Hearted, Clipper City Loose Cannon (my choice today), Natty Greene's, Chimay, Hoegaarden, and other more predictable but good-quality choices (I believe they also had Bud Light to please those frightened of living well). Usually the most accessible beers from each brewer, and usually not more than one each, but it's certainly good enough.

Sort of a dull atmosphere, but clean and comfortable enough. Maybe I'd rate atmosphere higher if the weather were nice enough to enjoy patio seating, but it wasn't...

Service was attentive, friendly and beautiful. All in all, a pleasant, delicious afternoon out with my lady.

Not a bad joint to stop in for a pizza and a good beer. For Greensboro, NC, Brixx generally has a pretty good tap selection. And will generally have 1-2 taps of stuff you won't find anywhere else in town on tap.

The food is usually avg - good, though I can take or leave the atmosphere (though the outdoor patio is great when the weather is nice). $1.50 pint night on Monday is always a great deal when stopping in for a couple pints.

Weekends can be crowded and loud, but overall a good place to go for pizza and a good beer that can be reasonbly priced on the right night (aka Mondays).

The staff is super friendly and chummy as long as it's not 1.50 draught night. I know a few of them by name and I'm by no means a regular.

The pizzas are great, wood fired, thin crust style. They feature a new pie every once in a while and I've never had a bad one.

If you go on a night when there are no specials, the price is reasonable with a good selection... If you go on a night when there are specials, (ie Mondays) it absolutely can not be beat. $1.50 domestic drafts on Mondays, and that doesn't mean macros like most places, this includes any domestic on-tap. I had 2 Dogfish Head 90 Min's and a Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout for $4.50 plus tip (not to mention very good service) . Great deals on Mondays and Thursdays ($1.50 domestics and $2.50 imports respectively). I've had Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA, Brooklyn Brown Ale, Highland Gaelic Ale, Blue Moon, and others there. The bartenders seem slighlty inattentive, but the wait staff does a good job to make sure glasses and bellies are filled. The restaurant has a nice little outdoor seating area for the warmer months and a clean, open interior that keeps you from feeling like you're being stuffed into a can. To sum this place up for out of towners, imagine a Bertuccis where the pizza's are $8 instead of $15, oh and they have about 15 beers on tap and some good bottles too (even a barleywine). Of the 15 on tap, 6-7 where from the north carolina area, a couple california beers, one belgian, and fill in the rest with craft brews, covering a good number of styles. There are specials going on some days of the week. On this last tuesday it was a stella on tap for 2.50 and you get to keep the stella glass. Hard to beat. The bartender (Nick i believe) was good at answering my questions about the local brews, ensuring i wasnt getting some local version of Bud lite. The pizza was awesome, and well priced. beer was well priced as well. At the bar there seemed to be a Cheers atmosphere, where every body knew everyones name, and the bartender pours them something new to try once they walk in before they even ask. One thing to note is that they have new menus that dont point out they will do beer samplers (4), but just ask. Great place for a solid meal, great service, a TV at the bar for watching the game, and a solid draft and bottle list. Even though i've been spoiled by living next to The Public House and Sunset Tap in boston, in my opinion this place can hold it's own.

Based only on the Monday and Thursday night specials, you can't beat Brixx. Not to mention, for a pizza chain, I think they have an amazing selection of beer, second only to Mellow Mushroom in the tri-state area (NC,SC,GA - sorry VA).
The bartenders are mostly nice, quick to serve, and apt to hook you up, especially if you've been in there before. They like the beer, and even if they don't know the background completely, they'll give you an honest opinion.
The place can get a bit loud later in the night, as it becomes more of a bar, less of a restaurant, but that's cool with me.
Beer selection is great. Tonight's outstanding selections were: SN Celebration, Highland Gaelic Ale and St. Teresa, Old Rasputin, Holy Grail, DFH 90 min. Some great ones, more domestic than import.
The food isn't actually that good, but the beer selection more than covers for it, and the staff will custom make anything you want, which helps. The pizzas are thin crust, not great ingredients, and not enough sauce, but that's just a personal opinion. The salads come COVERED with dressing, so ask for it on the side. Still, the food could be much worse, I think I'm just not a thin crust guy.

Like I said the beer, and the beer specials, make this place way worth it. A must on Monday and Thursday nights!

cheers...

Beer prices are great, especially on special days. Mondays are $1.50 domestic micros, Tuesdays pretty much change for $2.50, and Thursdays are $2.50 import micros. High alcohol beers have been served here for a couple months before the law was changed, and new stuff is being rotated all the time. The staff is great, very nice people. The atmosphere is pleasant here... even at peak times there seems to be room with the many tables they have in addition to the bar and outdoor seating.

They have a good selection of beer for Greensboro. NC brews from Highland, Edenton, and they have Cottonwood's seasonal brew as well. Other beer at the time of this review includes SNPA, Allagash White, Brooklyn Brown, and many others that add up to at least around 20 taps.

The service has always been attentive here. The default beer glass includes a complimentary block of ice attached to it, but all the servers I've dealt with can track down a room temp glass and remember to keep it that way throughout my stay.

The food is very good. My favorites include the spinach/artichoke dip and the Bronx Bomber(pizza with gorgonzola, italian sausage and prosciutto) but all of their pizzas are good.

Quality is very good for NC. 18+ taps of good, quality micros with a few flops like Amstel Light and Heineken. Lots of local and regional micros. Flying Dog, Brooklyn, Cottonwood Seasonal, Young's Double Chocolate Stout, SNPA, and other. They change the taps periodically.

Service was great, very attentive and speedy. My only problem was they use chilled, and sometimes almost frozen glasses. However, once I asked for a room temperature the bartender remembered every time to get me a room temp glass.

Selection is as good as it gets in the Triad and most of the state. Not only a good variety of producers, but also styles. From Pale Ales to English Ales to Stouts to Wheat beers to seasonals there was a great variety.

The food is great. Wonderful wood fired pizzas. Quick and hot with quality ingredients. I would go there just for the pizza, but thankfully I don't have to.

[Edit] Value: $1.50 Domestic Drafts (all micros) on Monday, $2.50 imports on Thursday. $2.50 Domestic drafts all the time. Great pizzas at a good price.
