This place looked like it would be a great place to shop for food, wine and beer. Large selection of all and a quality selection of food and brews, didn't check out the wine much.
Warm and cold selections, singles and sixers.
Organized mostly by brewer. Local, Michigan, Midwest, National and International all well represented. Shorts is always the thing out of towners are looking for, they had a bunch. I found Harpoon Leviation Baltic Porter, which I found interesting that I have never found this in North Carolina where Harpoon is readily available.
I preferred this place to the Clover Leaf, though that place is rated higher. They had more ambiance, but this place has the selection, at least of things not viewed more champaigne like- sours, Belgians.
I would just stop here in the future since they have more space to keep more things year round.

Holiday Market is a gourmet type grocery store in Royal Oak. They have one of the best beer selections I have seen for a grocery store. As far as Michigan micros they carry Founder's, Arcadia, New Holland, Bell's, and King's. They have several other micros from Ohio, Colorado, etc. Decent import selection from Germany and Belgium. The only problem with Holiday is that they are expensive. Probably about 10% higher price than you can get elsewhere. However, since they have such a great variety, it would be hard to find a store with both better selection and price.

The Holiday Market is a grocery store in Royal Oak that has a excellent selection of beer, wine, and liquor. One long aisle is filled with beer on both sides (six-packs and some bombers). Most well-known craft breweries have a good lineup of their beers on display here (Great Lakes, Bell's, Stone, Rogue, Sam Adams, Goose Island, Sierra Nevada, etc.). A good selection of imports also are available. The workers seemed nice here too. Overall, this is an impressive place to grab some beers if you're in the area.

Decided to stop on my way home from Royal Oak Brewery. I was glad that I did. A nice supermarket with all kinds of organic and fresh offerings, it's your typical Royal Oak establishment; until you get to the beer selection. Nice. Lots of belgian imports, as well as a highly respectable offering of Michigan and Regional Brewers (Great Lakes, Victory, Sam Adams, Founders, Bells, Etc. Etc.) Also found some harder to find brews this time of year on hand, and in stock. Most of the stock is well organized on shelves, but there is a nice selection of brews in the adjacent coolers as well. The service was good, as I was greeted when I entered the section, though I didn't require any assistance finding anything. Most suprising is the prices, as they aren't as inflated as I thought I'd find, considering I was in a trendy area. I'll be back when I'm in the area again. Worth stopping in.

I like to come to Holiday Market, the staff is incredibly knowledgeable. Like other places though, the stock of what I hoped to find by traveling there was alos out of stock. I came looking for a number of beers that I hoped to find (Linenkugel Big Eddy Russian Imperial Stout, Dogfish Head 120 Min IPA, and Stone-Chipotle Porter), and they were out of stock on each one. What I did find was acceptable. I would continue to go here to find rare beers.

Located in a great part of Metro Detroit - Royal Oak is decent place to walk around. Overall selection is not as extensive as Merchants, especially in the import selection. However the actual store is much nicer. Pricing seemed reasonable (had the Breakfast Stout for $10 - 4 pack), and it was easy to get around the selection as it's well organized. Glassware was non existent - somewhat surprising for a higher end store. My only gripe is the inability to break sixers - for me this makes or breaks a store.
Founders Breakfast Stout
Founders Red Rye
Dark Horse Special Reserve Black Bier
Jolly Pumpkin Oro de Calabaza

I've driven past here a billion times but never stopped in... for whatever reason. I decided I'd make a trek there after hearing about their stock of KBS.
They have an ample beer/wine selection. Most good brands represented. Southern Tier, Stone, Founders, Great Lakes, Bells, Victory, La Chouffe, Ayinger, Boulder, Dark Horse, Arcadia, Avery. Quite a few goodies and rarities. They keep their bottles in good shape but the stock is misleading. Lots of the same beers in different spots. On top of that, their turnover isn't all that great. Lots of shit sits on the shelf that probably shouldn't.
Nice cold selection, nice service, decent quality. A definite go-to place for good brew, especially when coupled with Cloverleaf just down the road.

On my Royal Oak beer hunt stopped by here after Cloverleaf, awesome these are so close together. This place has two really long rows of beer, mostly Michigan staples with other American craft, didn't see or ignored what international stuff that was there. The selection is pretty good, focused on Michigan but has some of the harder to find ones, a couple rare Jolly Pumpkin, fix Short's, several Dark Horses etc. Some singles but most are 6 packs, so not as accessible as Cloverleaf. Service was decent, seemed busy and more interested in helping regulars than anyone else.
A good store but I wouldn't come here with Cloverleaf so close unless I was getting groceries as well.

Large selection and cooler; about a third of it is macros. It's an upscale grocery store with a very nice liquor selection too, you can get stuff that you won't typically find in most liquor stores like Luksusowa vodka, nice scotchs, etc. It's easy to get lost in the huge amount of beers in the store but the selection really looks bigger than it actually is, A lot of the beers can be found in different parts of the store; in two different isles or in the cooler and on the shelf. Some old stuff that will never sell at all and has gone bad will be put "on sale" for a dollar off.
People that worked there are helpful but not entirely helpful. I was told that the main beer guy was on break when I asked if they had a particular beer coming in. The only problem with the staff is that they hoard beer as stated in the other review.
The main problem with this store is the layout (Again, too many of the same beers can be found in different spots) and the prices. A lot of the stuff found here can be had at better prices just a few blocks away at Cloverleaf Fine Wine & Spirits or at Champanes in Warren, you'll save money even with the amount of gas you're using. They now break select six-packs into singles on a rack but they markup the singles immensely unlike Cloverleaf and singles that are lower in ABV at Cloverleaf are in the cooler, at Holiday they are just sitting out in the open.
