this beer pours a clear light yellow color with a foamy head that fades to patchy lacing pretty quickly. the aroma gives away those nasty little bottom feeders in the mix, other than that there might be a bit of crystal malt there, but very light. the taste is a little disappointing very light sweet malt character with not much in the way of hops. with the light mouthfeel it's just not one of my favorites.

I've had this a few times now, and I know the reviews haven't been stellar but dang I'm enjoying this one.
Looks great with its golden cloudy appearance and its white head that leaves a touch of lacing.
Smell is almost the best part, the fruity characters that come through are awesome. Also leads to some of the malty ness that comes through more in the taste. But mostly just Fruit!
Tastes like the fruity smell mixed with a pancake. Quite pleasant, and drinkable. The malty favors come through on the back end but their still very subtle. As with any pilsner the palate has to be very clean to taste the subtle flavors they offer.
Mouthfeel is a bit overly light, I wouldn't mind some thickness on this one since i do feel its a bit sweet.
Overall I feel it's a fantastic pilsner, and probably my favorite Erie brewing brew.

Poured from bottle into pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a lighter golden color with a huge billowy white head. The head fades relatively fast to leave a decent level of lacing.
Smell – The aroma is a nice blend of a bready and caramel smell. Mixed with these are a lighter aroma of tropical fruits and some yeast.
Taste – The taste begins with a lighter bready flavor and a lighter caramel sweetness. As the taste advances further a light citrus flavor greets the tongue. These flavors take the taste to the end, and with a light hoppy flavor and a weakening of the caramel sweetness, the combination of flavors leave a crisp taste to linger on the tongue. Overall the flavor is rather subdued.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is rather light (as would be expected for a 4.2% abv. brew) with a carbonation level that is on the higher side. Very appropriate for the pilsner style and it makes for one very easy drinking brew.
– The flavors of the brew are a little watery and not to exciting. With this said however it is rather refreshing and quite easy to drink. While nothing to go out of your way for, this beer does make for a rather decent session brew.

A = Nice golden color. Good head which retained nicely. Decent lacing.
S = Malty with a touch of underlying fruitiness.
T = Crisp. Nice balance between hops and malt. Refreshing.
M = Good. Not too creamy/not too watery.
O = I found this to be a nice example of a pilsener. Was a bit less tart than some of the ones that I remember from my days living in Germany, but since I didn't appreciate that tartness, that's a good thing.

Presque Isle Pilsner
Erie Brewing Co.
Style: German Pilsener
ABV: 4.20 %
LOOK: Clear gold with lots of carbonation bubbles. Head is short livid but did leave lace. Honestly, it looks like a pilsner beer.
SMELL: Aromas of grains, buttered bread, lemony citrus, hay, and green apple.
TASTE: Light bready malts, just enough hops to make an impression. Malt, grains a little green apple. Upfront sweetness yet fairly bitter, simple but agreeable beer.
FEEL/IMPRESSION: Medium bodied, good but not super crisp carbonation. Not the cleanest example but not bad either. This is a lawnmower beer, but there are lighter examples with better flavor out there.
