Liquor Max is a great place to go for those more unusual and obscure beers. Wilbur's is known in the area for having just about everything but LM is where I go when I want something unusual. They often have things that Wilbur's never gets and their prices are usually better too. I also like how you get a discount for buying 6 items or more.
It should also be noted that their beer guy, Nick, is extremely knowledgeable and always willing to help or make suggestions. You can tell he knows his stuff and cares enough to educate others.

I stopped by while in the area on business.
The place is big but most of the stock is wine and spirits. The beer selection is fairly limited in numbers but the quality is very good. And most of their stock is refrigerated too. They had several sours and Belgian styles from Russian River (no Pliny though).
I can't really comment on the service. I didn't ask for any help and no one offered it. But they seemed nice enough.
I don't know the area well but Liquor Max seems worth a visit (especially for someone from the east coast looking for something to take home).

Liquor Max was close to our hotel, so I happily popped in for a visit.
It's really a mixed bag here. The selection is both great, and crappy at the same time. The number of options for beer is low. However, some of the items available are great. I'm a sucker for vintage beers, and they had 08 Stone IRS, 07 Alaskan Smoked Porter and 08 Alaskan Barleywine available (and marked as 'vintage' buys). There were a couple other old (06/07) bottles that didn't move my needle, but maybe they would move yours.
There is a lot of local beer (a plus), but not much else outside of deshutes, stone and lost abbey and a few Belgian offerings.
For me, the vintage goodies made my day. If I was close, I'd visit all the time to see what was brought out; however, you'll pay for those older bottles.

On my way back from a Ft. Collins tour of breweries I hit this place. I've heard great things from other BAers, so I didn't think I'd be let down. But I was.
Yup, sure, this place is great for Loveland and the Fort, but coming from Denver, this isn't a worthy stop. Perhaps if they had some rare beers or great prices, but I saw neither.
Big warehouse type layout. I think they had about 2 doors of "malt-ternatives" like Jooce (?) and such, and a separate cooler section of BMC. The Micros were sloppily placed and some were just empty. Warm section was not a single shelving unit, but small islands with some nice Fantomes. Some older bottles of Rochefort and Alaskan Smoked Porter were on sale. All in all, a nice selection, but nothing worth the trip if you live out of town.
Service was non-existent; I didn't ask for help (or bought anything) and non was offered. Average in my book.

Had a fairly nice & organized layout
All beers were fresh
Service was super helpful and friendly. The cashier liked talking beer & the whole staff seemed to help with quest to score some green chille. They picked a great local place that scratched that itch for me!
Selection was fairly extensive, some vintage offerings, multiple Russian River Sours, other sought after big beers & many old favorites from Alaskan & Deschutes. They had a decent mix sixer as well. Could've easily dropped $200 in their if I had room in my baggage
Prices were fairly reasonable

Stopped on the way to Fort Collins, fairly accessible despite being in Loveland. Coming from LA I was happy with every store I went to in CO but this place was awesome. I expected a large store but wow this place is massive. Nearly everything was refrigerated with a few limited releases on small shelves across from them. I've honestly never seen so many beer fridges in one place. There were several employees walking around the store and as a young BA I'm pretty used to being given modest recommendations so I was offered Aventinus, great beer but one of the few things that I can get in LA, so I explained this to him and he was happy to help me find other things. I had grabbed a bottle of Maharaja but wanted another so he grabbed it for me. They also loaded my stuff into boxes for me at checkout and were very helpful there. Amazing selection, they had most of what I wanted and I was told they have the other things I wanted sometimes. About 3-5 different RR sours as well as Damnation and Redemption were available and I even found a few things I wasn't expecting: Abyss, World Wide Stout and, get this, 2007 vintage 120 minute! The 120min was pricey, obviously, but everything else was very reasonable including discounts on all the single bottles I purchased. I will definitely find a way to make it here next time I am in CO, highly recommended.

This might have been the best beer store in Colorado I went to as far as service. I looked through the selection and was asked if I needed pointers. I also was told I could get XXX Warlock Stout, which I believe was bottled in 2007 and I didn't see anywhere else. When I mentioned I was from Wisconsin and had some micros in the car from the Great Lakes Region, naturally he inquired about a trade. To my surprise, in part for a New Glarus gift box he traded me a 2007 Abyss.... I didn't see that and may have missed it but wow. People working there really know their beer and considering Loveland is not downtown Denver, it is also very accessible.

So, I've been shopping here for a few years now. They usually have a great selection, and some solid beers. They also have a few good deals.
But... I have seen it go downhill somewhat over the last few years. For one, they got rid of the blog and list they kept online. it's just gone. I also think they nixed a cooler and moved a bunch of malternative crap into it. And they have had some of the same 08 beers, on sale, for ever. I swear 08 Avec Les Bons Voeux has been available, at a discount, for well over a year.
Whatever, they have a good supply of Pliny The Elder, so I shouldn't complain.

Next to Wilbur's in the Fort, this is my place to go and take twenty minutes to find the perfect beer. Great selection, lots of hard-to-find imports to discover that you won't find in just any ol' booze shack. There's only one beer guy that I met who works there, big Irish mutha, the rest work with the wine and apparently have never drank a beer in their life.
Right off I-25, this is the other place you need to check out if you're on the front range. Got my World Wide Stout and a 2007 Rogue RIS there. I'm tellin you, I love this place!

Ordered a few hard to find brews and was pleased with my experience. The stores website is kept up to date with new arrivals. The IPA's "Pliny" are listed with the freshness date wich is great. The responce time to my order was slow it took about a week to get a response and a little bit more to ship. Though they did hold my bottles when I first sent my email, which was great since they sold out fast of that particular beer. The shipping was quality and packed well, the cost of shipping was not too much as well. The price of their brews are great also not to much even for the hard to find brews. Will order threw the store again.
