A - BIg growler-type bottle caught my eye in the gas station beer fridge. Pale yellow, slight fizz around the collar. Looks like Mexican beer.

S - MIneral notes of nickel and copper. Smells like a Mexi-lager brewed with well water and a bit more hops than is typical.

T - Fuller in flavor than "normal" Corona. Grains, corn, mineral notes. Quite a bit more hop than other brews from south of the border.

M - Light-medium in body. Definitely still a thirst-quencher, but a tad heavier in body. Although it's not dark, it reminds me of Negra Modelo in it's mouthfeel and body, and it shares some of those "suckin' on a penny" mineral notes.

I really thought that this was regular Corona in a really cool quart-sized bottle, and I bought it purely for the novelty factor. Turns out that this is like Corona-plus. A more medium bodied and much more flavorful lager. Maybe should be under the Vienna Lager style here on BA?

White head on top a yellow body - head sticks around for a while and laces the glass. Looks pretty great. Extra points for one of my favorite bottles, the 32 oz jug.

Light, pleasantly metallic aroma, not getting any of the adjunct off flavors, like the nasty creamed corn.

Surprisingly hoppy, just enough to prick the taste buds. A nice balance.

Crazy drinkable, could go through a couple of these babies.

My go-to refreshing brew, no lime necessary.

32oz bottle poured into a nonic glass. Bottled Nov, 15, 2012.

A: Pours a very light yellowish gold with a bubbly one finger head. Clear body with tons of visible carbonation. Head dissipates in a minute or two.

S: A mix of stale bread and corn. Not too exciting. Would recommend adding some limes.

T: Little more well rounded then the typical Corona. A bit more sweet corn malts. More of a lager than the Extra. Flavor is a bit subdued but remains inoffensive.

M: A bit heavier on the body than the original, medium with average carbonation. A bit of creaminess for a lager but not too much. May be stronger but just as easy to drink.

Overall it has a bit more flavor than the Extra. Still works well with some limes which I added on the 2nd half.

I used to have to roll into Tijuana to score this beer. I guess now that said place is more dangerous than a ruffies and viagra party, they decided to bring it across the border. Still in the 32oz quart bottle, and brown.

Pours straw yellow clear, but actually forms a little wispy white head that obliterates itself rather quickly. Aroma was mildly grainy, I think all the heavy carbonation got in my nose and made it itchy like I needed to sneeze, as if I had snorted some Alka-Seltzer.

Taste was full of corn and metal, like some cheesy band with a fake scary flyer. I think if you take a regular corona, some mineral water, and a sam adams light, blend them together, you get this beer. I think you can get a little more alcohol taste to it, its better than any other Corona I've ever had, and hey, you don't have to drink as much of it to get a buzz. Lawnmower or memory road stuff at best.

32 ounce bottle poured into mug; no limes were involved in the consumption of this beer.

Fast reducing two finger off-white head. Massive carbonation impressive.

Smells: Grassy with wet grain

Taste: Biscuity malt, with cereal taste, but this beer has a smoky finish that distinguishes it from Corona Extra

Mouthfeel: thin, but not as thin as some.

Overall, this is a good thirst quencher. Yet, I'd choose Bohemia or some other Mexican beer if I'm needed a fast cold one on a hot day.

A: poured from a 32 oz bottle into a nonic pint glass, yellow straw colored with a short white head that vanishes leaving no lacing, clear

S: not much, corn, grass, grain

T: clean malt up front, slightly sweet up front, finishes drier with a slight hop bitterness, has a nice mineral water quality

M: light and refreshing with lively carbonation

O: much better than Corona Extra, brown bottle keeps the skunk out

A - Very clear yellow with a decent sized white head. Left no lacing.

S - Aluminum, copper. Just metal in general.

T - Corn. Lots and lots of corn. Rice adjunct, some cooked veggies. Doesn't have the skunkyness that regular corona has.

M - Light bodied with moderate carbonation.

O - Overall, It was alright. Definitely not a vienna lager. But it's better than regular corona by a long shot!
