I've had this beer many times. A 6pack of 12oz bottle is around $6-7 I believe. I've never thought it was bad but never great. I pour this one into a my Beck's Stange to review.
Very loosely packed off white head of about an inch. Transparent dark ruby brown in color. Nice layer of retention. Modest lacing.
Aroma is of raw adjuncts; barley and grainy. Sweet caramel malts, brown sugar and molasses.
Taste is quite sweet and malty with the brown sugar and molasses taking the forefront.
Light to medium body with a pleasant level of carbonation. Smooth finish with sweet malts leading to a medium finish.
This is one of my favorite Mexican beers, which I guess doesn't say much, but it isn't bad and I'll certainly be drinking it again as my wife enjoys it and it makes its way to my fridge frequently.

Appearance: Copper; small head that dissipates quickly
Aroma: Malty; sweet; banana taffy smell
Taste: Malty; sweet; a little bitter on finish; not bad overall, but not as good as I remembered.
Remarks: Gave one to my German neighbor. His response, "It's not German."
Did not score A, T, S, M at that time; disregard those scores

Not as dark as others, but hard to find a better beer at most Tex-Mex restaurants. Smooth, minimal head, above average flavor and above all, save the lime for your food. A great accent to the Bob Armstrong Dip and the Chicken Chile Relleno at Matt's Rancho Martinez in Big D.

This isn't a fantastic beer but its probably the best Mexican beer I've had. It's almost bereft of aroma and has a very mild taste without much character to speak of. It's fairly smooth but overall there just ain't much to remark on. It's ok for drinking with your buddies at the bar but I wouldn't order it as my first. As an aside, if you mix in a shot of vodka, it tastes like a Baltika 9.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle with golden foil covering the bottle cap. Stamped: B263A128-01:30. Sampled on June 8, 2013.
The color is an attractive looking medium to dark brown with ruby red hues glistening along the edge of the glass. Small to medium head that fades a bit but never disappears.
The aroma is of fine caramel malts, toffee, and sweetness. The hops balance out the aroma in a crisp, clean way.
The body is around medium and mildly acidic.
The taste is malty sweet with a a slight hop bite introducing itself at the end of each sip. Mild bitterness. An enjoyable beer. Probably one of the better Mexican brewed beers I have had.
