Pours crystal clear yellow color with a snow white 1 finger foamy head that lasted a lot longer than I thought that it would and left minimal spotty lacing.

Smells of vegetables, faint caramel, extremely light hops, grains and skunky yeast; without fruit in it this beer barely smells like a beer.

Tastes of vegetables, faint caramel, cardboard, grains, wet bread and a metallic aftertaste like licking a penny. The limited sweetness in the flavor gets washed away by what seems like skunky yeast and the metallic aftertaste. I did not have this ice cold or on a hot sunny deck, so the reality of this tasting is that the taste is not very good.

Mouthfeel is very light and crisp, with a watery flow, almost no carbonation and then the skunky yeast and the metallic finish.

After finishing the last few sips I concluded that this was my refresher course on why I stopped drinking this beer over a decade ago; even if it’s the only beer at the party I would avoid this and drink soda or water over it.

A: Really pale, yellow/golden color, pop pop fizzy coca-cola head. Nothing special.

S: Lot's of malted barley and corn smell off the bat while being faint. I cannot distinct the hops at all.

T: You would get this- overly bitter malty/corn taste that results in a bitter and distasteful finish that makes it a pain in the neck to try to slam, even casually drink/sip. Ice cold in a frosty mug if you need to, lime does nothing for this piece of work.

M: Watery... And super thin.

O: I am anti-beer snobbery, but this beer is plain foul... I can't think of any type of meal this beer can be good with. There's no saving grace about it other than the fact it's good for slamming down on a hot day if it's the only thing you had at the moment. And it's overpriced.

Tasted On: 05-18-2013
Freshness: Not indicated
Packaging: 12 oz. clear bottle, pry-cap
Glassware: Tulip pint
Purchased: 6-pack from Kroger

A: Clear and bright golden color with a white head standing 2 fingers tall. Retention is fair and there's a good amount of lacing.

S: Not a lot of aroma; some light sweetness of pale malt and grassy hops.

T: The taste goes with the smells; with a light sweetness and then grassy hop character. Also has a bit of skunky taste.

M: High carbonation with a light body. Finishes slightly bitter and lightly sweet in balance.

O: Overall not a bad beer but then again, nothing remarkable either. It stands in well as a lawnmower beer or something to wash down your meal with.

24 oz bottle poured into a nonic pint. Bottled Feb 22, 2013.

A: Pours a fizzy light yellowish amber with a 1 finger bubbly head that is quick to dissipate. Lots of visble carbonation. No lacing.

S: Even without the lime the aroma still reminds me of a citrusy lemon lime. A hint of skunkiness to it. Mostly malt.

T: Not a whole lot of flavor going on here but a non offensive beer. Standard american adjust corn taste. As with the aroma there is a bit of skunkiness once you burp.

M: Light body with decent carbonation. Fairly crisp finish. Real easy drinking.

Overall its always an easy drinking and refreshing beer. Perfect for the summer heat. Not the most flavorful but beats some of the other AAL's.

This beer is on my top beer to drank in the summer and maybe of all time! Others do not like this beer but in my 20 years of dranking it does not disapoint on being refreshing and taste. It is crisp and clean! I The taste of heaven!

Apperance:Gloden like beautiful gold watch forever, the retention is excellent.

Smell: Very Smooth and refreshing has hops and malts.

Taste: This is very smooth and refrshing beer. It has no after taste but with a lime even taste better then all craft beers. Who would thnk that !

Mouthfull: very refreshing, crips, leave's a pleasant taste, medium body and medium carbonation in it.

Overall People either hate or love it. I am on the side of love it! The price is not cheap even in California but I will always buy it. By far the best Mexican beer on the market!

Ok, I know that Corona Extra is not technically a good beer. It has a generic yellow color reminiscent of Bud Light, it doesn't have much in the way of aroma and what is there has a slightly skunky aspect to it. As far as taste goes, it's just ok, and for the price there are a LOT of better beers you could get. However, that being said, I will admit that I enjoy this beer when it is served very cold with fresh lime on a hot day, and it's light and crisp feel are probably it's best attribute. .

Split a 6 pack with my brother, Appearance is fine looking, the smell is decent but nothing to great, the taste is alright I suppose, nothing bad, nothing good, its fairly light, and much better with a lime, mouth feel is also average, overall its an okay beer, but its nothing special, and definitely shouldn't be priced to what it is, theres a few beers I would prefer this to, but many many more I would rather take, for instance Busch, Pabst, Icehouse, Samuel Adams, Rolling Rock, hell I would even rather have budweiser, and also notice how all those options are far cheaper than Corona, I do think they put something in the water in making this beer because while I wasnt impressed I craved another for a week or two. I have no Idea how this beer is more popular than Heineken.

I must admit, In the summertime I've probably drunk gallons of this stuff! When I think about this i realize why. I always made sure it was as cold as possible ( if it warmed up i was always sorry). I often drank it in mini bottles, added a pinch of salt, then juiced about 1/2 a lime. By this time there was very little remnant of the actual flavor of the beer remaining. Its a very musty smelling beer. There's this faint bitterness, accompanied by a corn after taste. The carbonation is also a killer. That being said as long as it was fully doctored, I wouldn't completely avoid this beer, but I definitely cannot and have not ever been able to drink one straight. For now I will stick to beer that has the ability to be delicious on it's own !

The ultimate showdown. Corona side-by-side: one with lime, one without.

Without: Naked Corona

A: The beer is crystal clear yellow in the similarly clear bottle. This allows the beer to soak up the maximum amount of sun possible, which is a good thing right? Some bubbles appear after prying off the bottle cap, but otherwise the body is pretty inactive. I didn't pour it into a glass, just seemed like the bottle was the best vessel for this offering. 3

S: The thin bottle top isn't the best means through which to catch the aroma of Corona, but what I do get is sugary sweet. A little bit of frat basement mixes with how your fingers smell after spilling some sugary juice on them. The slightest bit of beer is in there, too! 2

T: A taste only a mother could love. Very sugary sweet. Some malty caramel begs for something to balance it out, but all you are met with is stale American Adjunct Lager. 1

MF: Light and crisp, the body is what Corona is known for. It does go down well when you're on the beach, preferably directly after swimming in the ocean and swallowing so much seawater that you can't taste anything else. The finish is really off-putting, otherwise it wouldn't be terrible. 3

O: Really pales in comparison. You really are doing yourself a disservice by drinking this straight. 2

With: The Way God Intended It

A: The bottle looks even better with that attractive, vibrant green lime as a hat. The beer explodes to life as the acidic lime drops in, bubbling heavily and yielding a small, fizzy head. 3.5

S: This is where the lime really shows its merit. The lime mixes with the sugary aroma to smell like...well...lime juice. But that's better than what it was otherwise. 2.5

T: I have to tell you, I am honestly shocked how much better this is with a fresh lime wedge in it. The sugary taste that was begging for balance, finds it with the tartness of the lime. The finish is all lime juice, instead of the stale residual sugar from the regular version. 3

MF: Basically the same as the original, just without that nasty aftertaste. The lime really puts this beer on a different level, whatever that means. 3.5

O: The clear victor and still champion: Corona with a lime. 3

I like Corona Extra....ok ok it doesn't get good reviews on BA but, it's always in my fridge during the summer. I think it has a crisp and refreshing taste all thou it does finish a little harsh. It's inexpensive and available everywhere, and yes, I do drink it with lime.

"Rapido! Rapido!" I woke from my slumber to a pounding headache, resembling an intense hangover. Whatever I was riding in was dark, dusty, and shaking from side to side. Sweat beaded down my face and I came to realize my situation: I somehow made it to Mexico again. Fuck. Suddenly my transport halted and I flew face first into the front of the hot metal cab. I heard several footsteps, definitely those of short Mexican men. The back doors flew open and I was blinded by the Sun. They grabbed me and threw me onto the dirt. "No mas, amigo! Andale!" I looked around to see what looked to be the Great Wall of Arizona and walked in what I thought was a straight line. The Mexican van took off spitting dust into the air. As I approached the border line, I reached into my pocket, finding a little crumpled paper with my handwriting. It read, "The secret ingredient to Corona: One Part Mexican Water, One Part Chicken Piss."

Not a beer worth drinking in just my humble opinion. Mexico makes so many great beers. Sorry this is to one of them. No taste whatsoever. For a full beer it tastes lighter than a light beer. And what is with adding the lime? Not for me, but hey whatever floats your boat.

This is the Mexican version of Budlight. Absolutely no taste to it. A beer-flavored water. You are better off drinking water at a party. It has a nasty skunky smell. An insult to beers worldwide. I can only imagine what corona "light " must taste like....good lord

Appearance - Pours a clear golden color with a thin head that dissipates instantly. Has very thin lacing.

Smell - Very malty and corny.

Taste - Sweet, very malty, and it has a nice corn flavor. The aftertaste is what's nasty.. It tastes metallic and cheap (kinda reminds me of Hamms).

Mouthfeel - Light bodied with high carbonation.

Overall - I wouldn't want to drink this again unless it was free.

I have to admit, I wasn't sure what to make of this beer before I tried it. A friend of mine told me that I should try it so I did. This is one of my favorite beers that I have tried. The smell of a Corona is unpleasant and skunky at first, but the taste is great. The appearance is a yellowish color and looks very good at first sight. Some people say adding a lime wedge to your Corona will make it taste even better. I recommend this beer to anyone.

This beer is only to be enjoyed in 3 situations: 1. The beach 2. The pool 3. A hot day. Other than that this beer will be too much. This beer, just like how it looks, is a beer to be enjoyed on a beautiful day. This beer is light and has a bit of a grainy taste to it but in a sweet way. The bottle is very attractive and makes you feel like you are on vacation.

Like another reviewer noted, I have never in my life taken the time to pour this into a glass.
The appearance in the bottle is what you would expect from a really light beer, nothing more.
The smell? I've really never noticed.
The taste? Light, smooth. Nothing to offend and nothing to remember too long either.
Mouthfeel? Almost non-existent.

Corona beer is a bit like The Eagles. I cannot imagine anyone taking the trouble to really dislike something as light and smooth as the Eagles' music, but if the Eagles are your "favorite band", then you haven't sampled the subject of rock music very deeply. I've never had any beer that I can just quaff as fast or as long as Corona. It tastes fine. In fact, it's hard to beat on a hot day at the beach. There's just nothing memorable about it at all.

Another beer that I had so many times but never took the chance to review. So what if it’s snowing outside, I grabbed a bottle from the supermarket and I even poured it into a lager glass. The classic clean glass bottle of 355 ml, who everyones love to hate, ABV 4.5 on my bottle. Very pale, piss yellow colour, with one finger of white froathy head, very low retention and of course no lacing on the glass. Great activity in the glass though. Lots of adjuncts on the nose, with the corn being quite obvious, but at least it doesn’t have the "wet cornflakes" smell. Probably is covered by the light citrus notes. The corn is much more obvious on the taste. Nothing else to mention here. Very thin, almost watery on the body, saved by its high carbonation. Overall, what can I say that is not already written? Only good for the beach.

Bottle from the bottle!

Two finger off white head, with passable retention

Pale gold in color

Smell: biscuity, grainy, and grassy

Taste: Biscuits, corn, and dry cereal malt at the finish

Mouthfeel: thin, but not too watery

Overall, this is a refreshing beer. I would have it again if it was the only choice.

I don't think I've ever poured this into a glass. You can see right through it, anyway, thanks to the clear bottle. It's the color of a well-hydrated man's piss, and I would imagine any kind of "head" that forms disappears within seconds. The smell is.... well, the smell is kind of absent, to say the least. Corn, graininess, and a metallic tone. What I usually do is squeeze and drop a lime wedge into this one. Then it just smells like lime. The one lime wedge over-powers every other aroma. Taste is basically the same, crispy and dry from intense carbonation; corns, grains, the palest of all malt flavors. Musky hops, but not enough to really matter or make it bitter. More steel flavors. I've had many skunky bottles, but I've also had plenty that were fine. But again, if you drop the lime it, it pretty much takes over the entire flavor profile, which probably isn't a bad thing. Thin body, crispy as fuck.

Corona was my "go-to" beer before I got into craft. Now that I realize what's out there, it's kind of funny that I ever found this stuff "tasty". But even to this day, I'd still take it over a Bud Light. As long as I can drop a lime in and sprinkle the neck with salt.

12 oz. bottle, no apparent bottled on date or bottling information, poured into a miniature type pint glass with a little slice of lime squeezed into it.

A - Attains the typical pale clean adjunctive urine colored lager look with now a little bit of lime pulp floating around in it.

S - Pale malty nothingness. Corn husk. Some lime fruit juice now because of the lime I squeezed in there. Doesn't smell the greatest, but we all know what to expect with this one.

T - Ahh, the Corona and lime taste that everyone knows. American adjunctiveness paired with some fresh lime. Far better than rip-off beers that followed like Miller Chill and Bud Light Lime, that's for damn sure. Everyone enjoys the taste of a cold savory Corona Extra with a lime squeezed into it on a fiery summer day.

M - Pale dry quick corn mealy finish, with of course the lime, if you so choose to have one. Nothing to brag about, but satisfying enough.

Overall, a pleasantly refreshing adjunct, alcoholic water-type beer if there ever was one. Squeeze a lime into it, and enjoy the 100 degrees temperature any time.

Poured from 24oz tall can into a pint glass. I just wish that I reviewed this when I was in Mexico!

Appearance: light straw-yellow hue with a haze free body and a pretty strong effervescence. Head is a thin finger of frothy white foam which dissipated quickly with no lace. Par for the style, I suppose.

Smell: kind of a light, dusty-plastic aroma with perhaps a hint of wet grain. Not the worst thing in the world, but really not too good for even an adjunct lager.

Taste: sweet malt with perhaps a bit of corn to it. Not bad, but the aftertaste is a bit grimmer, with more of that plastic character. I gotta say, I've had worse macro lagers, but this still isn't too good.

Mouthfeel: light body with a strong carbonation and a light but surprising foaminess in the mouth. I don't want to call it creamy, but at least there's *something* going on here.

Overall: I don't love this beer, but I will admit I enjoyed a couple of them on the beach in Mexico. That's really about the only context in which you'll want to drink one of these.

A: Beer pours a straw yellow color. Virtually no head and whatever lace remains also diminishes rather quickly.

S: Old corn, skunky, and that's all I really smell. Just a bad smell overall.

T: Terrible. If you really try you can kind of get some of the corn taste but that could be just wishful thinking on my part. It's bitter and pretty bland. Virtually no flavor other than what I said before.

OA: I've had my fair share of Mexican beers from buddies you love them but this has got to be the worst one I've ever had. No one I know buys it and from what I hear, this is considered one of the low end beers of Mexico. I have no idea why this beer costs so much in the States.

This is my second review of Corona. The first review was sometime in June when I was just getting into craft beer.

A - Pours light urine yellow with a one finger soapy white head that quickly dissipates. Leaves no lacing

S - Wet sour grain, Salt

T - Virtually follows the nose. Some wet sour grain, a bit salty in the middle and an unbearable rotten rice finish

M - Light watery body with heavy thick carbonation.

O - Overall, This is horrible. I don't see how my friend can handle this as his session beer. This is disgusting. The flavor is almost as bad, If not worse than Steel reserve.

A 710ml clear glass bottle with a BB of April 2013. Picked up from a B&M store recently. Time for a classic macro - go big or go home!

Poured into a straight pint glass. A clear pale-gold colour with good carbonation. Forms a large head of white foam that lasts for a minute or so before subsiding to a thin surface layer. Aroma of faint malt with hints of corn, overcooked veg and stewed leaves. Dry and slightly harsh.

Tastes of ultra light malt with a watery character and a dry finish. Mild hints of corn, stewed veggies, harsh leaves and a faint sweetness. Highly attenuated, with some unpleasantly acrid off-notes in the background. A very subtle bitterness upon swallowing. Mouthfeel is thin, watery and dry, with tingly carbonation. Rather astringent, with an aftertaste of faint corn/stewed veg and a residual harshness.

Meh - a pretty crappy macro lager. I've had this plenty of times when I was younger (and more ignorant). Initially it wasn't quite as bad as I expected, but hints of corn quickly materialise as it starts to warm up. Very bland, with almost no aroma and little flavour to speak of. It's just not that good and has to be ice-cold to be palatable. Don't follow in the footsteps of millions; instead give it a miss and drink something good.
