Used to drink it with some frequency while lived in DF. Golden color with a fluffy head that disappeared completely right away.
Light aroma of malt with predominant lemon notes.
Taste follows nose, a zesty lemon flavor with malt and some adjuncts. Almost no bitterness and no aftertaste.
Watery body with medium carbonation.
Tasteless beer, on the positive side its lemon twist feeling can be great on the beach and a thirst or spicy quencher.

Poured a 12 oz bottle into a Sam Adams glass. This review is for with and without lime added. Pours a nice medium gold color but with almost no head. No lacing. Aroma is slightly sweet, with a hint of bread. After adding lime, it smells much more citrusy. Go figure. Taste is almost non-existent, with very little by way of malt, hops, or anything else. With no lime, there is almost no flavor and I now understand why it comes with lime. Even lime doesn't really bring much to the party. But it IS better. Has a decent mouthfeel, smooth with a hint of carbonation. It does do well with spicy Mexican food when served with a lime, so it's got that going for it.

look: 3.25 | smell: 2.75 | taste: 2.5 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 2.5
Appearance - Pours clear and golden with a white, half finger head. Leaves a mostly bare on the surface, with only a ring of bubbles on clinging to the side of the glass. Lacing is spotty
Smell - Definite notes of skunk, while touches of grain and sweetness make up the bulk of what's left.
Taste - Somewhat stale grain upfront, then edges on malt sweetness and a touch of grassy bitterness near the finish.
Mouthfeel - Light to medium body, with a crisp, bone dry finish.
Overall - It's drinkable, but 98% of the beers out there fit that mold. Not something I'd care to purchase, but I wouldn't turn it down if offered. Inoffensive; the kind of beer you drink to catch a buzz. It's certainly not for the enjoyment of great taste.

Appearance: It has a pale straw yellow color to it. It has a thin white head that dies down fast and leaves no lacing.
Smell: The aromas definitely give out hints of skunk, corn, some bready notes and light grassy hops.
Taste: Like the aromas, it has a grainy malts, corn, some breadiness, light grassy hops and some skunkiness.
Mouthfeel: It has a high carbonation with a light and watery overall balance and feel.
Drinkability: It's a very smooth drinkable beer accompanied with bland flavors and aromas. I'd take a Dos Equis over this.

This beer is to be enjoyed at the pool or on the beach... or maybe just on a hot day. Other than that I dont advise this beer. It is something only to be enjoyed when its a perfect day out. Also i advise drinking it out of the bottle rather than the can, the can for this beer does not do it justice. Especially how the bottle's cap is wrapped in gold paper.

Poured from bottle into pint glass
Appearance – Poured from bottle as a medium golden color with a one finger white head. The head fades rather fast leaving only a lighter level of lacing.
Smell – The aroma is a mix of corn and some fruity smells. Mixed with these was a skunky smell with a light vegetal aroma.
Taste – The taste begins with flavors of a bread and corn mixed with hints of a caramel sweetness. As the flavor advances further the caramel fades giving rise to more sweet corn flavors. Some citrus flavors and a grassy flavor come to the tongue more at the end, leaving a rather unpleasant mix of flavors on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the thinner side in terms of its creaminess with a carbonation level that is a little above average. The thinner body and higher carbonation are quite fitting for the style, making it a rather easy drinking brew.
Overall – I think I would leave this one alone on most occasions.

A: beautiful deep yellow carbonated lager in a clear glass.
S: skunky Mexican beer; beer in a clear bottle with too much light equels skunky. If they shipped it away from the light it might smell better. Or if you like the smell of skunk you'll be pleased.
T: fantastic taste for a Mexican lager, better than most others.
O: it is one of the best Mexican bears, hands down. This is what I prefer when I'm in Cabo.Corona is made at the same brewery but I think it is sub par to this.

If you like mexican beers, this is a fantastic, light mexican brew. Would strongly recommend to anyone. The second I open this beer it reminds me of the Cancun sun. If you dont like this beer, then you just dont appreciate the flavor a mexican beer. Viva Mexico, Viva Modelo

thought i would go out of my normal habits(checking beer advocate before buying.) when i created this mix six. clear straw yellow with a head that goes away in a instant. aroma is a blend of corn and malt . taste and mouth feel would seem like a great summer beer due to it crisp flavor and clean finish. next time i am out at a local Mexican restaurant i will have to see it this is on the menu , would love to pair it with a well crafted mexican meal

12-oz. bottle into a pint glass at my house on Sept. 30, 2012 (someone left it over here after a party on Sept. 30, 2012). Less than a finger of head, that dissipated right away. Yellow golden pale with white head. Bad retention all-around.
Smelled pretty good for an American Adjunct Lager. Got bread, cereal, grass and a honey sweetness.
Tasted similar to the nose, but not as good. Got a more skunky version of the smell. Bread, cereal, grass, corn, grains, very very very slight lemon hops, finishing with a surprising bitterness.
Light body. Thin texture. Average-to-above average carbonation. Abrupt, watery finish with some slight bitterness.
Not too bad for the type of beer. This was the first I ever had of it, but I was pleasantly surprised.

Aroma: Light struck, of course. Other than the skunk, I get some breadyness, thin malt profile. Sweet mildly bitter grains, corn.
Appearance: Pale yellow. High clarify. Lots of rising bubbles. OK retention. No lacing.
Taste: Better than the aroma. Mild malt sweetness, corn and maybe rice. Some bitter bite at the end.
Mouthfeel: Light body. Pleasantly mild carbonation. Finishes mildly dry.
Overall: I'd take this over Corona any day, but nothing too impressive here.

Not your average "mexican style" beer. No this is not Corona, or Tecate. Modelo has a unique flavor which pairs well with seasoned, or salted foods.
S- Corn, burned hops and malts.
T- Clean presence of corn and cooked malts. Nothing offensive about the taste and is best enjoyed without a lime, if you ask me.
M- Medium bodied, high carbonation.
A good beer to enjoy while grilling some meat. You have to respect Modelo for dressing the neck on their bottles with the gold colored wrap. Nice.

A 355ml clear glass bottle with a BB of Nov 2012. ABV is stated as 4.5%. It looks just like a bottle of weewee! Acquired from Booths a little while ago.
Poured into a straight pint glass. A clear golden colour with medium carbonation. Forms a small head of white foam that dissipates rapidly. Aroma of light malt with a stale note of overcooked veg/corn and a hint of stewed hops. Faintly sulphurous. Not great.
Tastes of light malt with a mild finish. Hints of stewed hops, corn and overdone veggies. Dry, with a faint bitterness upon swallowing. Mouthfeel is watery yet crisp, with tingly carbonation and some astringency. Weak aftertaste of light malt/corn.
Meh - a fairly typical mass-produced adjunct lager. Bland and insubstantial. Drinkable enough if cold refreshment is desired - aims low and hits the target. No need to seek it out.

355ml bottle (7500-1894 bar code) Lager glass. (From my notes). Golden color, clear appearance.White froth, brief crown. Grainy, slightly corny aromas with grassy touch & light apple notes to the nose. Flavors are as expected from aromas. Subtle sweet sensation & no bitterness. Light body. Medium to high & lively carbonation. Watery texture. Crisp & refreshing. Better served cold.

12oz bottle served in a standard shaker pint.
pours a clear golden tone while yielding a a short-lived 3/4" fizzy white head. no real lacing to speak of. nose is subdued, with light notes of malt, grain/corn, and a vague hint of hops in the background, although that could just be wishful thinking.
more of the same in the flavor, which, while decidedly unexciting, is inoffensive and easy to drink. corn/graininess with some malt characters. light and lively on the palate.
overall, as far as adjunct lagers go you could do a lot worse. not doing a whole lot for me, but it's not bothering me either. it's even a bit refreshing. beats corona, albeit that's not saying much.

Nothing like being brave. Here goes:
Into a pint glass (also tested in a pilsener, no changes):
A: clear golden colored body with a small white one finger head that died within twenty seconds. Minimal amount of lacing appeared sporadically trailing down the sides of the glass.
S: some sweet graininess going on mixed with the typical corns of an adjunct.
T: pretty much the same thing.
M: light and slick, not much else to say, very sessionable
O: well, its an American adjunct lager, what does one expect. Without sounding harsh, its good for what it is. Though this might be nice next to my grill this summer - get in line Modelo behind the others.

Appearance: Golden with little head that recedes immediately, very little lacing, lack of carbonation. I can tell this is review is not going to go well, but at least the beer's not murky with swimming critters.
Smell: Sweet corn
Taste: Sweet malt, corn, grainy, metallic, possibly the slightest hint of hops but I could be mistaken.
Easy to drink beer that isn't bad or good. I was dissapointed because I expected much more taste. I was a marketing hype victim. Call the police.

This beer is nothing horrible by any means. A step up from the everyday maybe, but nothing more than another Corona. I call this an alternative to Corona when someone wants a variety. The smell is almost identical and the taste is quite similar along with the color and consistency. One that is worth trying for the money but nothing special by any stretch of the imagination.

Enjoyed this 12 oz bottle out of a standard pint glass.
A: Pours a clear golden hue with a thin 1-finger white head that quickly dissolves into a thin wispy lace.
S: Slightly skunked smell with aromas of corn and grains.
T: Equal mix of grains and breads with mild flavors off hops and malts.
M: Medium body and medium carbonation.
O: Decent Mexican beer but nothing I would go out of the way to grab again.

Poured a clear gold color, minimal head that lasted about a minute.
Grainy smell, maybe some wheat or could be corn.
Taste is crispy, light malt and hop flavors. Not bad considering the style of beer it is.
Not a bad bad beer. Nothing offensive about it, but not my favorite. I'd consider this an average beer.

Poured from a bottle into a glass.
A- Pale Straw color with a decent head. Doesn't look much different that any other of its kind.
S-Hints of corn and other grains, not much to say other than that.
T- I did enjoy its taste, especially when compared to a corona or other adjunct lagers. Fizzy and hints of corn.
M-Light bodied and fizzy, not overly carbonated. Fairly smooth.
O-Not a bad beer but not the best either. It is one of the better adjunct lagers out there and priced reasonably and is plentiful. If you like mexican beers then Modelos are the best there is in my opinion.

Served in the bottle at Cabo Taco restaurant, consumed with spicey fish tacos.
A: Hay colored with a lot of fizz, not much lacing.
S: Smells like generic beer horse blanket, not much on aromatics.
T: It's half a step above a corona, or beer of similar ilk. The best thing I can say about the taste is that it's non-offensive. Completely neutral fizzy flavor with a one note hit of dirt from whatever hops they water it down with.
M: Fizz, watered down. Best served damn near frozen on a hot day.
O: It's alcoholic carbonated water! :)
