12oz bottle. Light amber with a touch of haze. Thin eggshell colored fizzy head. Not much lace or retention action going on. Acid in the "strawberry flavor" perhaps?

Bland, hints of metal, with a very faint strawberry extract aroma.

Fizzy and light mouthfeel leads to a rather acidic, sharp, fruity faux-strawberry, half-chewed bubble-gum flavor. Some lemon/lime, salt and leaf characters towards the finish, which is over in a quick flash on the palate, leaving a dry palate. Wheat twang and crispness. If there's any hops character it's masked by the sharpness of this beer. Malts? Maybe traces of grain underneath, but the strawberries dominate this brew. As much as this is an uncommon and interesting fruit to use, the acidic and faux-strawberry character is a bit annoying, making for a very unbalanced brew. I'm not impressed, but a fruit beer freak might wanna give this a try.

Presentation: 12 oz brown bottle with no freshness date.

Appearance: A typical wheat beer froth, it seems to stick around a bit as well. Hazy straw amber color … sort of murky looking.

Smell: Smells a little bit like strawberry soda … extract. A neutral malt and yeast are in the back.

Taste: Odd strawberry fruit flavor, the wheat leaves a mild twang and there is sweetness all around from the wheat and feigned by the fruit flavor. Hops are extremely small on the palate with a lasting strawberry flavor in the finish.

Notes: A fruit beer is a fruit beer is a fruit beer … this one of those fruit beers.

On tap at Elmer Sudds in Wilkes Barre PA, poured into a pint glass.

A:Reddish/Amber Hue, Passes Some Light, White Head Ring, Some Lacing

S: Mild Wheat, Mild Tart Strawberries

T: Mild Wheat, Mild Dank Strawberries

M: Decent Carbonation, Light to Medium Bodied, Mild Tart

Overall, not even a refreshing light wheat beer, the (faux?) Strawberry they used is almost offensive to the taste buds.

Appearance: Golden orange color with 1 finger of a soapy white head that dissipated fairly quickly. Clarity is good with only a slight haze.

Smell: Artificial strawberry, grain, honey, some slight cracker/biscuity malt. Pretty mild nose.

Taste: Slight sweetness upfront, with weak flavors of wheat and grain. Strawberry comes through more in the finish and aftertaste and while it does taste artificial, it's not unpleasant.

Mouthfeel: Fuller side of light bodied. Medium levels of prickly carbonation. Crisp and finishes fairly clean.

Overall: Not bad, but certainly not good either. Might be refreshing on a hot summer day but that's about it. Other than that it's just another forgettable fruited wheat beer.

Poured from bottle into a pint glass

Appearance –The beer pours a ever so slightly hazed orange-amber color with a one finger off white colored head. The head fades quite fast leaving little to almost no lacing on the sides of the glass.

Smell – The aroma is sweet of strawberries and some other light fruit aromas of blueberries. Mixed with these are some wheat aromas and a light candy smell.

Taste – The taste is much less sweet and has much less strawberry flavor then would have been anticipated from the nose. It begins with a lighter wheat and strawberry flavor. These flavors create a base for the brew with the wheat staying relatively constant and the strawberry getting slightly stronger more toward the end. Along with the strawberry getting stronger, a light hop flavor of a citrus nature as well as some corn syrup sweetness comes to the tongue leaving a moderately sweet candied strawberry flavor to linger on the tongue.

Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is on the thinner side with a relatively high carbonation. Good for the style as it makes it easy drinking, but nothing too exceptional.

Overall – OK, but the flavor it leaves on the tongue is a little bit off putting. It would likely be much better on a warm summer day outside as opposed to how it was drunk today; on a cold snowy day inside, just trying to stay warm.
