Review from notes taken visiting the brewpub this past summer. Hung out in Hershey Park, ate some chocolate, dealt with having to buy cases only when looking for beer and hit up this brewpub (not the one pictured, the other location).
soft copper color, not much smell. Soft and earthy malty taste. medium bodied and a smooth and easy drinker. not bad for a lager.

Served on tap into a huge mug.
A- pours a clear light amber with a one finger white head. Looks like beer...uneventful
S- bupkus. Maybe a hint of malt.
T- very light taste of malts...no hops at all. Boring...essentially, it tastes like...water? Yeah...unimpressive.
M- verrry light and thin. Next to no body at all. No depth at all.
D- its really drinkable, just because theres nothing to hold you back. Its...a light lager. What do you really expect?

Pours a golden color with a good amount of fluffy white head.
There is not much to the scent, grains mostly.
The taste is of sweet, bready malts and grain.
Light bodied, crisp and sort of thin, adequate carbonation.
At first I thought this was pretty watery and too thin even for a light lager. But, as I drank more I discovered much more flavor and found a pretty tastey light lager.

(From Notes)
Had at Lancaster Brewery in PA.
Clear, pale-ish gold with a decent amount of carbonation, a bready, fruity scent with a thin, almost non-existant malt structure. A little bit of apple and lemon.
Thin, over-carbonated mouthfeel with an otherwise crisp taste. Doesnt have the consistency of a macro, but constructed like a macro otherwise, in that it has a sour, beery smell and taste.
Pretty bad, even for a light lager.

Had a glass at the Lancaster Brewing Company in Harrisburg.
I don't think it is of value to go to deep into the flavor etc.
It is a classic American Light Lager. Certainly a well executed beer for the masses. Significantly more malty/flavor that the mass market beers (Bud, Mller, Coors). Nice crisp finish, and the people I was with all enjoyed theirs.
So you have a well executed Light Lager. I think Lancaster did what they set out to do.

A: Translucent, light gold. Very little head, pure white. However, lacing is strong.
S: Sweet, vaguely honey.
T: Not very strong, but not watery, either. It's very sweet and malty.
M: Lightly carbonated, refreshing.
D: Very drinkable. Slight metallic aftertaste.
This would be a good alternative/ first beer for someone who commonly drinks macros.

Served on-tap in 5 oz. sampler glass.
A: Straw color, clear. Thin white head, no lacing.
S: No noticeable aromas, except maybe malt. Macrobrew-like.
T: Malty taste, not very bitter. Slightly metallic. Again, macrobrew-like.
M: Smooth, crisp, good carbonation.
D: Easy session; not overwhelming with any aspect. Not my first choice, as I would prefer a more distinct flavor, but it's still decent.

On tap at LBC Harrisburg on 2/29/08.
A - Very clear, pale golden body with sparse, quarter-inch white head that turned into a patchy film. Modest amount of carbonation present.
S - Bready and caramel malt with some very faint grass and hay notes. Just a touch of fruitiness with hints of crisp apple and pear.
T - Sweet maltiness seques into a more bready malt aspect with some light noble hops. Finish is light toasted bready malt.
M - Light bodied with fairly active carbonation, resulting in a slightly fizzy mouthfeel. Finish is quite crisp and clean.
D - Great session beer that's light and quaffable. Nothing special, just a basic tasty lager.

What can you can, it's light and clean - no brewing flaws here. I guess I can commend Lancaster for making a lawnmower beer with no defects, but any praise for flavor would be misguided. There's no personality. This beer doesn't really taste like anything other than lagered pale grains with a little something from the yeast.

Had on-tap at Lancaster Brewing Company...poured into a pint glass.
Pours a light golden with a foamy head. Smells of grass with mild hops and citrus. Goes down very smooth...wasn't really a big light lager fan, but this is very refreshing. Would hit the spot after one of these hot days. I wish they would bottle it!

Sampled at the brewpub. Presented as a medium golden color beverage with modest white puffy head. Smell is minimal with a slight sweetness noted. Taste is very crisp and clean with some light maltiness to be found. Finished very crisp and drinakable. Nothing great, but better than most.

I had this beer on-tap at Lancaster Brewing Company this evening, and it was not surprising or special but met the minimum expectations I have for a light lager. It did so happen to get 3's across the board from me. I believe that it was what brewers should strive for as a minimum bar for all their light lagers. While I gave it a 3 across the board I do think that it is above average as an industry standard, its just that IMO many fall a bit short. The appearance was a golden yellow color with a nice white head. Not much smell at all. What I could get from the aroma was a slight bit of subtle hops, basically the same as every other beer is this genre. Average. The taste is better than the average light lager but not all that interesting either. Very balanced and inoffensive. Smooth and crisp. An easy drinking beer, if this is the style you are looking for. As Light beers go, not bad Lancaster.
Hope this is helpful.
Cheers!

Appears a light pale gold with a decent white head with small scatterings of lacing to be seen and solid carbonation pumping away.
Smell is of light malt and a distinct hop aroma.
Taste is decent. Nothing to make you jump up and down but the light malt and crisp level of hops makes this smooth brew a decent pick, even for a light beer...which I didn't even know when I drank it.
It's ok, dog.

Most brewpubs try to do a "lite" to try to win over unwashed masses. Most of them fail. Lancaster got this one right. This fine lager beer is light in color and body, but still refreshing with solid malt sweetness and a mild balanced finish. Compares favorably with Pennsylvania's favorite son Yeungling with the Lancaster winning out with better balance.

This beer had a huge head with a seemingly unending effervescence! The color was a deep, opaque yellow, bordering on amber. I could not notice much in the way of either the nose or the finish. I noted a lingering metallic aftertaste, but even that had to be really sought out. This is somewhat of an inoffensive beer, probably designed for the widest possible customer base, and especially those who are new to the microbrew scene. The longer that I drank this beer, the more I noticed both a generic beer smell on the nose, as well as a sweetish flavor on the tongue. Not bad, but certainly not my first choice.
