Had this upon my first (and certainly not last) visit to the brewery. Served in an imperial pint.
-Low head when poured, but with a nice thin retention throughout. Very nice lacing as I enjoyed the beer.
-The aroma is warm and inviting. Clearly dark chocolate notes, slight coffee aroma, cherries and raspberries. Slightly nutty like sugar pecans.
-The taste is delicious with a fantastic chocolate flavor. The raspberries in the aroma comes out on the tongue, and a slight nutty flavor is present. Dark chocolate is clearly the theme though. Think of the potent way that some Southern Tier beers taste (Mocha, Choklat, Creme Bru Lee), but get rid of the over the top potency. I like those beers just fine, but I personally enjoy this more. It seems far more accessible and drinkable. Creme bru le can seemingly only be enjoyed in small doses, where as the Double Chocolate Milk Stout is easy going, flavorful, and very enjoyable.
-It starts off thin, but ends up "thick". The carbonation level seems to be right, so say the thin/thick as a negative, just pointing it out.
-Overall, I think this is a fantastic beer. Their Milk Stout is my favorite Milk Stout available, and this only improves upon it in it's on way. I only wish they would bottle it, and start to distribute to NC!

@ Lancaster
Black with no head except for a couple of large bubbles on the surface. Delightful milk chocolate, cakey dessert aroma. Chocolate and roasted malt, a touch watery through the middle, with a sweet lactose finish. Medium bodied and thankfully not too rich. Pretty nice overall. Happy I stumbled upon this...

On tap at the Harrisburg location. In a pint glass on the porch.
A: Dark, inky black like the original incarnation - a formidable-looking stout. An off-white head, not very large, comes with the pour and keeps up, lasing through most of the pint.
S: Milk chocolate, rich and plentiful, runs through the ale, like a few Hershey bars heated and added to the ale. The milk chocolate goes nicely with the lactic sweetness of the stout. The aromas have some staying power, able to waft out of my glass nicely.
T: The chocolate is a rich element, strong addition, to the stout. The milk chocolate and cocoa a nice fit with the milk stoit's lactic base. As the initial dose of chocolate dissapates, the milk stout's lactic sweetness kicks in but doesn't last for very long. Like the other versions, the stout's lactic side tends to drop off rather quickly. Here though, the chocolate provides a saving grace, adding additional body before the stout backs off.
M: The chocolate is a nice addition, adding fullness to the stout along with a sweet streak. Smooth, the lactic milkiness is always welcome. Not bad.

Double Chocolate Milk Stout
Pours a dark brown, almost black color. Off white, khaki colored creamy head forms with a nice lace display. Aroma is all chocolate, hershey syrup, cocoa powder, milk chocolate, and alittle bit of roasted malt. In the flavor, straight up delicious chocolate, with some lactic sweetness, more chocolate syrup flavor, malted milk balls, cocoa powder, and coffee. Lancaster has a very tasty beverage with this one. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied, smooth, rich, and creamy. Overall, a very nice dessert beer, but can pair with just about anything, from sweet to salty.

A - Served with a deep, dark brown body that showed some ruby highlights...the head was one finger tall and the lightest brown in color...it was creamy and showed some nice retention which left decent lacing
S - The chocolate, dark, is there but it's not pronounced as the name would suggest...there's a bit more roastiness and almost an earthiness to the nose
T - Here is where the chocolate flavor becomes more pronounced...the roasted malts lend their hand to the roasted presence and also the dark chocolate flavors...the chocolate is dark and roasted with just a slight bitterness...I believe some faint hops are actually adding to the bite...not much lactose flavoring, just all chocolate
M - Medium bodied...definitely needed a little more body...roasty and chocolatey
O - The flavors worked really nice in this one...it surely gives off the chocolate flavors, as it says...I'm glad there wasn't a trace of lactose as in their normal Milk Stout...easy to drink
