The fiery color and unique thirst-quenching hop profile gives this Amber Ale a flavor all its own. Hand-selected Cascade hops from the Yakima Valley provide a distinct citrus flavor, while still allowing a subtle malty sweetness to show through.

Appearance: Red color, nice head, sticky lacing

Smell: Citrusy hops in foreground, with a strong, sweet malt background

Taste: more bitter and hoppy than i expected, hops are citrusy cascade. malt sweetness also very present, but finishes on dry alcohol note.

Mouthfeel: light-medium mouthfeel, good carbonation.

Drinkability: pretty drinkable brew, all in all.

Poured on tap into a shaker pint.

A very creamy soupy looking head is given with an off brown/white color. Body is an interesting amber brown but really rusty looking in color, slightly clear. Drink gives some good lacing while drinking also.

Bouquet is an immediate unexpected wood. This is woody, don't know how else to describe it, almost splinters, perhaps even Teak. Slightly herbal, and a sense of clean wetness. Real surprising, but not your usual nose for this style that's for sure.

Taste is mild malt bodied and a hint of hop. A little too wet for my tastes but a real nice hop bitter finish and balance with malt flavor. Hop profile is hard to discern, it didn't jump out at me, and it certainly wasn't easy to find on the nose at all.

Overall still not that bad, but I'd probably grab something else.

Reviewed from notes.

Pours amber with a white head. Mild lacing. Nose is amber malt with some biscuit and bread. Slight hops. Taste is pretty much just toast with some moderate bitterness. With the body this works fairly well. Good drinkability and a well made beer.

Grabbed a pint of this on my way back to the subway after a long day exploring monuments. Served in a shaker pint.

Beer is amber and clear. Carbonation is moderate and made up of large bubbles. Forms a thin diffuse head of medium bubbles that leaves no lacing on the glass.

Beer smells mostly malty, overall aroma is weak though.

Beer is slightly sweet on the front, good carbonation in the mouth, nice body, not to heavy. There is a bitterness at the back slightly but not really an aftertaste. Its a relaxing average ale, no strong flavors, no imposing body. Drinkability is good.
