I poured thsi beer into a pint glass, it has a nice deep, rich coper color body, with a small tannish head that hanged around for a little while. The aroma is mainly pumpkin pie spices with a little bit of pumpkin flavor. The taste is almost like a pumpkin pie but has a little more malt flavor towards the bakc of the tongue. The mouth feel is good and overall a decent pumpkin beer.

12oz bottle poured into a Capital Maibock pint glass.

Appearance- A hazy orange with a half finger of off white head.

Smell- Lots of cinnamon and pumpkin with some all spice.

Taste- Taste just like a cold October day. Lots of b,ready crust like flavor with gobs of pumpkin, some clove and smokyness.

Mouthfeel- A medium mouthfeel with a great warming sensation that almost giveaway you a fresh pumpkin pie mouthfee.

Overall- Lakefront does another quality job with a spiced beer. They give me a pumpkin lager that gives me a spot in representation of a warm pumpkin pie. The slight warming is a magnificent touch.

I have not seen a Lager pumpkin flavored beer before. It was pretty close to what you would think it should taste like. (Brewed with pumpkin spices)

Appearance: Beautiful clear golden color with and hint of orange to get you in the mood for "pumpkin".Head remains after a couple minutes but very low 1 mm. Extreme light to no lacing on the glass

Aroma: Cinnamon. Maybe a hint of nutmeg behind that but cinnamon is predominant.

Taste: I'm not a hug Lager guy so I'll do my best to be fair. The spices added a little extra hit of flavor after the initial not pumpkiness of this beer. Its a light and taste like college.

Mouthfeel: light, like a lager should but with a little bight from the spice to match the flavor aspect after the initial smoothness. I rather like the mouth feel and is appropriate for a flavored lager.

Overall: I feel this beer's best quality is it is visual very attractive. Great color, clarity and good head for the style. Next is mouth feel smooth with a spicy bite at the end. Not surprised of the lack of pumpkin in this beer. The rest is solid but nothing to write home about. Overall average not my favorite as far as the pumpkin category but ranks high in my lager category. I'm just not a lager guy.

Orange amber pour with a white head that disappeared quickly to zilch. No lace.

Smells of nutmeg, caramel malt and spices.

Taste is initially interesting with nice nutmeg, cinnamon and pumpkin favors but it fades quickly into a sweet malty base and a thin, watery mouthfeel.

There are better pumpkin brews.

This poured out as a Clear looking amber color. The head was a little on the soapy looking side. The lacing was minimal and the retention wasn't overly impressive. The smell of the beer has some lager yeast aromas as well as the traditional pumpkin spice notes. The taste of the beer has an earthy spiced flavor through that mixed with the sweetness of the malts. The mouthfeel is on the thinner side with I feel it should be heavier. Overall this isn't a bad brew, just not one of my favorites.

12 oz bottle poured into a Lakefront imperial pint.
6.0% ABV, Bottled During Aug. Wk1 Notched on the label.

A - The brilliant color is a light amber pumpkin orange and crystal clear with pale yellow highlights and lazy but stead bubbles rising up. The cream-colored head billowed up to two fingers and slowly went down to a thin blanket of foam leaving a ring of legs.

S - The immediate realization from the first sniff is that this pumpkin lager is much different from pumpkin ales. It's muted aromas are more crisp and mellow. The spice is the most prominent on the nose with dashes of cinnamon and nutmeg with a pumpkin aroma following closely. A touch of caramel malt is in the background and no hops are evident.

T - The taste closely mirrors the aroma with spices being the first noticeable flavor - nutmeg and cinnamon - but the pumpkin flavor is the most prominent and lingering flavor. A touch of caramel is present as well as a light kiss of hops. The beer is blended very well overall and exhibits a great flavor for a lager! Think diet pumpkin pie; still a great flavor but not incredibly rich like normal pie.

M - Lakefront's Pumpkin lager is smooth - on the verge of being creamy - but still crisp and refreshing. A small carbonation bite gives a little kick at the end of this medium bodied lager which has just a slight dryness to the finish.

O - A wonderfully crafted pumpkin beer that takes the richness of pumpkin ale and drops it back a few notches to create a great start-of-fall beverage that's still drinkable and refreshing in warm weather but a touch spicy; great when it cools down. Also a good "beginner" pumpkin beer for those who want to get their feet wet, and one of my personal favorites of the season!

Reviewed from tasting notes.

A. Orange-tinted amber with a 30 second head of foam that resolves to a thready collar, minimal lacing left behind.

S. Aroma seems to be more about the pie spicing than the pumpkin aroma itself, faint levels of caramel malt aroma exist underneath all the spices.

T. Again, mostly about the pie spice. Cinnamon and nutmeg, mostly, with just a brief flash of pumpkin sweetness that dries out quite nicely.

M. Lighter side of medium body, heavier side of medium carbonation. Crisp feel overall.

A very well-spiced Pumpkin Lager. Oh yeah … it's a lager. Easy to drink for what it is. When it comes to spiced beer, it's pretty subjective on whether you want more than one—but we could see having more than one. There is depth, but lightness as well, two worlds that should have met a long time ago perhaps.

Poured into an imperial pint glass. Color was a slightly orange, dark yellow straw colored. Very slight haze as well. Started with a 2 finger off white head that faded to none after a few minutes. Aroma was a sweet pumpkin with small hints of spice, mostly like a pie puree. Taste was slightly sweet, but fairly bland, akin to a bland bread. Felt a bit over tingly in the mouth, but coated well. Overall a middle of the road pumpkin beer. Nothing outstanding in any direction.

The aroma of this beer first hits you as a real spicy and sweet beer. Quite the opposite. This beer has a real light mouth feel but the hint of sweetness is just of enough to have one beer per night.

This beer is not too sweet and not too savory this beer can go well with savory foods such as turkey and be a great dessert beer or just to drink around.

From tasting notes 10-19-11
Poured into a warbled mug

Appearance: Slightly cloudy (perhaps some chill haze) orange-amber beer with a tall foamy cream head. The head settles slowly and has a thin ring of head retention and a very small amount of spotty lacing.

Smell: I can definitely smell it is a lager-it's got the characteristic clean, crisp malt in the background; however, this beer has pumpkin, nutmeg, and cinnamon cloves that take the show. It smells like a baked pumpkin pie.

Taste: Tastes like pumpkin up front, and finishes with the spices previously mentioned (nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves) and has an amazing finish. The aftertaste is crisp clean pumpkin pie.

Mouthfeel: Light body with medium carbonation and a smooth, very drinkable finish.

Overall: This beer is very well-blended and mellow. Nothing is overpowering or out of balance/proportion. A rarity among pumpkin beers!

This bottle was poured into a tulip glass.

Appearance- Best part of the look is the body,it is a deep auburn with burnt orange highlights. The unfiltered body has a slight amount of carbonation. The head was a bright white that built to a finger and died slowly to a ring. There is no lace.

Smell- It's a really nice balance of spicy and sweet. There is cinnamon and some other herbal spiciness. A little bit of vanilla and nutmeg comes through. Actually really nice for a pumpkin.

Taste- The first sip was a nice mixture of biscuit malt that was reminiscent of a pie crust. There was a little more cinnamon and nutmeg than vanilla.

There are some bitter hops in the finish that are a little out of place, and the wheat is too noticeable. It gives the lager an adjunct feel that detracts mightily how well this one starts out.

Mouth feel- This is a real clincher in pumpkin's, and this one falls much too short. It is almost medium-bodied. So, so close. And it is not smooth enough by a long shot. That weird adjunct / bitter hop in the finish makes things really rocky.

Overall- As far as pumpkin beers go, it starts out really promising. It smells good, but it doesn't translate on the palate. There is an adjunct wheat quality in the finish that throws this thing off kilter, and the spices are not nearly noticeable enough.

A: Poured from a bottle to a pint glass. Had a copper color and a clear texture. There was a thin, foamy head that quickly dissipated. Not much lacing at all.

S: A decent aroma of pumpkin, spices and malt.

T: Tasted of some pumpkin up front, with a little cinnamon and malt in the finish. This is a pretty thin, watery beer. Could have been better than it was.

M: An okay amount of carbonation with a zesty, prickly finish. Medium-bodied.

O: This is one of those inoffensive, mostly forgettable beers.

Appearance: It pours a hazy copper color with amber hues. On top is about two fingers worth of of white head.

Aroma: A tremendous amount of pumpkin spice way up front. Notes of allspice, clove, cinnamon and even a little bit of a cider aroma. Only a slight breadiness towards the back.

Taste: Spice on top of more spice. Cloves, cinnamon, apple peel a floral hop bite and a nice dry finish. The mouthfeel is a little crisp with a buttery texture.

Notes: It's spiced so well all the way around what a tasty beer. Cheers.

bummer. my first pumpkin beer of the season was brewed in wisconsin? purchased in golden, colorado. the flavor was entirely too spiced, like pumpkin in a can, and the beer had a filling malty element to it. i cant say i hate it, because i dont at all, but i had higher hopes for the inaugural brew of the season. dont think i could do a 6pack of this, the drinkability wasnt there. at least my palate is ready to go now!

A: Pours orange with barely a finger of white head that quickly vanishes with no lacing.

S: Pumpkin pie spices on the nose--cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg--without much else.

T: Similar to the aroma, there are a bunch of spices without much else. There are a few hints of orange citrus in there and a light, biscuity finish.

M: Medium-light body with lowish carbonation, this beer feels a bit flat.

O: Not a very good beer. It isn't offensive, but it's bland and lacking any depth.

Dating notched on the label. 12oz bottle poured into a pint glass. Pours a beautiful burnt orange with no head or lacing at all, but excellent color. The aromas are typical of what you'd expect from most pumpkin ales. Lots of spices, but they smell natural, which is a good thing. I'm also picking up a strong berry presence in the nose, which is odd but enjoyable. Tastes good, but it simply doesn't stand out, but there's nothing offensive going on. The spices are noticeable, but not over the top. There's a nice amount of vanilla noticeable as well. Mouthfeel is light and crisp. This one isn't over carbonated, it's thin, but really refreshing and makes this one easier to drink. It's a pretty clean beer.

This isn't the best pumpkin ale I've ever had, but it's far from the worst. If you see it, give it a go and see for yourself.

Honestly, I think this is the first time I've seen a pumpkin lager before... Regardless, it pours a mostly clear bright brass topped by a finger of pale off-white foam. The nose comprises cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar, light white bread, light caramel, sweet flowers, clove, and a touch of mildly tart orange flesh. Nice and spicy, baby. The taste brings in more of the same, with the bread coming in lightly toasted, the orange toning down the tartness, and the caramel coming in a bit stronger. There's not much actual pumpkin in here, if at all, but the spices are definitely present in spades. The body is a light medium, with a moderate carbonation and a lightly grainy feel. Overall, a surprisingly tasty and drinkable brew, one that really embraces the spicy side of pumpkin beers without going too far with it. Well done.

Light fiery orange in hue, two fingers of On the nose is cinnamon and caramel.
Sweet but not cloying, definite holiday spices, some heavier malts, which is good, less pumpkin than other beers yet more flavor overall than most. Medium body, tingly carbonation, and some stickiness is delovely. Yup delovely. Like it a bit. Recommend it.

A- Poured clear orange/copper with two fingers of foamy, pure white head. Good retention and good lacing.

S- Cinnamon, bready malt and a little citrus are the first noticed aromas. Complex and a bit unusual. Not sure what to expect from the citrus note.

T- Bready malt, cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg and clove. Reasonably good balance, and as it warmed, the citrus was undetectable. But nothing jumps out or wows me.

M- Feel is thin (which I like) with medium carbonation. The finish is clean, with the end note being nutmeg.

O- Seems like a routine fruit beer. Nothing made me think of pumpkin really, and there is certainly nothing objectionable about it.

The bottle says it was bottled on: and nothing is marked under month nor week. Who knows?
A- hazy, orange/honey color with thin white head, very little lace.
S - I can't put my nose on it. I even asked my wife. She thinks it is lavender and that it tastes like lavender. It's floral for sure but which? It's NOT pumpkin. Clove is there.
T - like the smell. No pumpkin. Sweet, clove, floral, citrus.
M- sweetens with time, easy to drink but the flavor and scent are difficult to pinpoint. Very floral but not pumpkin.

I enjoyed this beer from the comfort of my own living room. From the 12oz bottle to my Grimbergen chalice.

Appearance: Pours a slightly cloudy orange color with an off-white head that does not last long.

Smell: Clove, nutmeg and general spiciness. The standard Lakefront yeast aroma comes through as well.

Taste: Fruity, sweet and spicy. And just as the nose suggests, the spices that come through the most are the nutmeg and clove.

Mouthfeel: Light bodied with a nice level of carbonation.

Drinkability: Not enough body for me and the fact that this is a lager takes away some of the balance that I want out of a pumpkin. The flavors are a tad too flat for my liking. I haven't had this beer in a number of years and my remembrance of the taste has not changed.

A- Pours a clear orangish copper color with a very nice off-white head with great retention and lacing.

S- The aroma is pumpkin and spices. Pretty typical for a pumpkin beer. 

T- The taste has some sweet malt up front and has a good dose of spices as well. The finish has some lingering spices and sweetness as well. 

M- The mouthfeel is somewhere between light and medium bodied with a good amount of carbonation.

O- Overall, this is my first pumpkin beer of 2011 and it was a nice one to start the season out with.
