Appearance: Amber body with a nice 1 inch head that foams up nicely. Decent amount of lace on the glass as I drink.
Smell: Aroma is a nice combination of caramel and malts. Hints of grapefruit and pine hops.
Taste: First a hint of sweet roasted malt. Then the taste of caramel. Finally a semi-overpowering dose of grapefruity hops. A little out of balance for a red ale in comparison to others I have tried. Good beer though, not an all night drinker.
Mouthfeel: Medium, nothing special
Overall: An alright beer that is pretty great for the first pint.

Paid 2 bucks for this single from Halftime beverage. Into my imperial pint glass.
A - A very dark hazy chestnut brown, one of the darkest red ales I ever seen, atop is a 1/2 inch of tarnish colored head.
S - Well it's not just sweet malts their is some hop presence in there but it smells rather strange like a touch of sour cherry. Hope it taste good.
T - I want to lean toward the flavor I am tasting is "woody" with a bit of spruce tips, bittering hops, and some tea leaves. A rather kind of disgusting taste as a while.
M - Medium bodied, kind of chewy, very herbal
Overall I am not too disappointed since Lakefront really does make rather mediocre beers with the exception of the Winter lager. I am puzzled on how high the reviews are considering this beer is borderline terrible but it is somewhat drinkable.

Pours a bright reddish copper hue with a creamy two finger head and lacing everywhere looks very enticing for a red ale,the smell Is pineapple, blood oranges, grapefruit and piney hops, the mouthfeel is medi with moderate carbonation that suits perfectly and has tastes almost exactly like aroma with hints of pineapple, citrus, boiled candy, blood oranges and finished with a piney hop bitterness and overall it's a nice representation of a fine red ale and ill be back for another one that's for sure sessionable and tasty need I say more.

A: Pours a hazy copper that turns to mahogany when shadowed. A two-finger ecru head collapses into lumps and leaves just a bit of lacing.
S: A soapy cardboard scent fills the air around the glass during the pour - not a good start. A good whiff reveals juniper hops that are less stale and slightly more citrus than the first scent indicated. A bready, caramel malt emerges as the beer warms.
T: A mouth full of hops, somewhat offset by a good dose of nutty, roasted malt. Overall, pretty straightforward: lots of hops. Slightly sweet, with a bitter finish.
M: Medium-bodied, medium astringency, dry finish.
Personally, I don't prefer aggressively hoppy reds, though this is by no means a beer I'd pour out. It would be better if it found a better balance between malt and hop. Would probably not buy again.

This poured out as a deep amber color with a soapy tan head on top. The beer has a very nice lacing as well as a pretty strong retention as well. The smell has a pretty good piney aroma with some toasted malts in there as well. The taste of the beer has a pretty good bitterness to it along with a nice caramel malt flavor in there also. The mouthfeel is creamy, a decent carbonation and dry in the finish. Overall this is pretty good, would love to have it fresh. Worth trying!

Fixed Gear pours a hazy dark copper color with a moderate frothy head on top. As the foam fades away it leaves a fair amount of lace coating the glass. A descent amount of bubbles float to the surface.
The aroma is rather faint. Malty notes of caramel and bread are followed by hints of citrus and pine.
Each sip of this medium bodied beer is smooth and creamy with mild to moderate carbonation. The flavor begins malty and sweet with caramel, toffee and dark fruit (raisin or plum). Towards the end pine and citrus hop bitterness appears. Once gone the caramel and pine bitterness lingers on the palate.
A tasty beer with a great mouthfeel that leans toward the malty side. A nice change of pace from all the hop bombs out there.
