Notes:
Our latest Single Hop brew using CTZ hops. An unfiltered Pale Ale with huge grapefruit notes, a hint of caramel malts and a good bittering balance.

Appearance- Mellow golden/slight orange color, slightly hazy, finger and a half eggshell-white head from a strong growler pour
Smell- citrus fruit of the more bitter variety, thinking grapefruit, hops hit right off the bat
Taste- earthy notes? Wasn't expecting this. Lighter malts with a solid pale base. Hop bite at the end but well balanced on the palate
Mouthfeel- medium bodied with a little hop oiliness
Overall- good for a nice long session after a weekend on the slopes. Another great brew from Bitter Root

Pours yellowish with a frothy head on it. Smells earthy, dank, oniony - loads of hops are in there. Taste opens up really fruity with some grapefruit flavors. These move to caramel malts, but are overtaken by onion notes and more grapefruit. I can't figure this hop out. This is a good IPA - really big and consumed fresh as it should.

22 oz bottle purchased at The Beer Shoppe Yakima, share with Barley Brown's crew 6.14.12.
Clear medium gold body, one finger white head, medium dissipation with a bit of lacing several streams of lazy rising bubbles. Citrus hops dominate the nose, the malt aromas are pretty bready. Taste mirrors nose, hops may have been oxidized, not the freshest bottle (and not refrigerated, that's a retailer issue). Mouthfeel medium, ok effervescence. I was hoping this would be the Amarillo variety but BB brewer Marks checked in with his buddy and it was the CTZ version. An interesting single hop IPA< would have liked to try it a bit fresher.

received via BIF...
a - a glowing golden color, fairly easy to see through - yet there's a bit of activity in there as bubbles continue to rise... was a quick, quite white, layer resting ontop that left behind a nice layer of lace
s - faint hints of grapefruit, lemon and some light floral notes
t - hops have faded some and melded with somewhat of a "typical" beer taste....slightly dry and bitter finish
m - light to medium bodied somewhat creamy apa
o - its an ok beer...think i got it a bit old though...
