Notes:
You can't put summer in a bottle, but we may have come close! When the weather gets warm we roll out our summer seasonal, Vacationland Summer Ale. Vacationland is an Extra Special Golden Ale that's light in color but full-bodied, with a snappy hop finish. A bit of extra time in the conditioning tank rounds out and mellows the ale. We use generous portions of pale malt with just a touch of wheat malt to give VSA unique flavor that?s richer than most summer brews. Cascade leaf hops add a delicate and forward hop character as well. It's the perfect brew for all things summer.

22 oz brown bomber, thanks to bennybrew!
Decent lacing on the glass, bright pale golden hue. Tight crispness deep with in the moderate body makes the mouth feel smooth. Smells and tastes a bit buttery from the yeast, the pale malt flavour provides a thin base of sweetness. Ample bitterness drops a metallic flavour on the palate. Lingering buttery flavour in the finish with some sweetness.
Tastes like a best bitter to me, Id swear there is a good amount of wheat in there as well. Good drinking either way.

Poured from a 22 ounce bomber into a perfect pint glass. Pours golden white foam, semi hazy. Malty smell, citrus too. Light malty taste with a bitter lemon rind hoppy flavor. Lingers citrus taste. Has a minor soapy taste. Not the best beer out there.

There's nothing special here. Just a decent beer. It pours "beer" yellow with no head or lace. It's aroma is very mild wheat with just a hint of lemon. The flavor has a large hop bite, reminiscient of an IPA, minus the fruitiness. There's a mild grapefruit note in the finish. The mouthfeel is light. Gritty McDuffs Vacationland Summer Ale is a decent beer, recommended.

A: Orange pour with a frothy, ivory colored head of 1 finger statue. Good retention rate, and ample lace coverage of the glass. Spacious rise of medium sized carbonation bubbles.
S: Touch of sour orange peels, dry with some bread is very limiting on the nose.
T: Flavor was watery with some sour funk of orange peels on the first impression. The second and concurring sips faired a bit bette but was very linear in terms of the flavor progression. Bitter flowers, dry citrus with a light lingering bitterness of spicy hops follow the swallow. Spicy hops appear mid-palate with a base of sweet syrupy malt.
M: Light mouthful, a bit frothy, turns washy and foamy, sour orange funk, ok carbonation, not crisp, nor sharp.
O: Sits on the fence for me, a good blonde relies on its grainy, edgy flavor, this is a light smooth malt bill, some good points, others not so good here. A no brainer downer that comes more off as a tweener.

Deep golden hue, very clear, obligatory foamy white head on top. Presentation everything to be expected.
Rich grainy aroma, borderline pungent maltiness but restrained and sharp to the nose. Flowery american hops on top, hints of citrus swimming under the grainy scents.
Crisp grainy malt flavor up front with the first sip. Somewhat bitter, very dry. The dryness enhances the hop bitterness and really draws out the grainy malt flavor. Some oily hop slickness in the background.
Smooth mouthfeel but finishes so dry it is nearly astringent. Grain is left behind on the palate long after the beer washes away. Crisp and clean with no esters or hop flavors lingering afterwards.
This beer really comes at you with a rich malt profile. The grainy flavors take hold and don't let go. The finish is a tad bit too dry for my taste - although the beer is equally refreshing warm as it is ice cold because of it. Hops play a supporting role but lend a nice American hop character to this Blonde.
Golden liquid grain in a glass!

poured from bottle into a stein
Appearance: Light Amber Color with one finger of white head. Lacing on the glass was spotty at best. A lot of carbonation could be seen with this brew, and was evident by a head that lasted a long time.
Smell: Very citusy and intense hops(like most of Gritty's beers)
Mouthfeel/Taste: Well balanced and light bodied, although I felt with intense hops it was heavier than most summer ales.
Overall: This was an enjoyable beer. Not my first choice for a summer ale, but I would not turn it waway if offered or it was all that was there. The intense hops that I find with most of the Grtty's beers was evident here, and this summer ale reminded me more of an IPA.
