Well-lit, roomy, clean, friendly service. Long bar with plenty of tables. There's a small outdoor area, as well. When I went there were forteen beers on tap, including a nitro and a cask - all their own - pretty impressive number - plus two bottles (IPA and Doppelbock). Beers were at legal limit of 4% abv - nice varied selection - with the bottles at higher abv. They were served at correct temperatures in true pint-sized glasses. The food was a bit pricey for the "pub grub" that they offered. Food okay - nothing special.
This is a "must-stop" in Salt Lake City.

Where do I start with this place. I'll just skip the whole service and atmosphere thing. You can look at my ratings above.
I'll just talk about the beer:
First and foremost is my favorite, Full Suspension Pale Ale. I think after a good ride on the bike, this beers name fits perfect. It has dry hopes, and it's unfiltered. It goes great with the Blue Cheese Burger.
Provo Girl- Great name (it's a Utah thing)- I'm usually not a fan of lite beers, but this one always seems to go down my throat every time I'm here.
Organic Amber Ale- Great beer, their only listed organic beer, the taste is very smooth, and goes great with their potato fries and nachos.
Chasing Tale Golden Ale- Now I suggest you have this on tap. It's one of the popular brews in Utah because it fits perfect with a hot summer day. In the can, I don't really like, it seems that it losses a lot of it flavor and carbhination.
Polygyme Porter- Great for winter time or rainy day. I just can't have one on one of our hot summer days. But when you do have one, why just have one.
Last but not least Squatters I.P.A.-Great beer, it's won many awards. the only down fall to this beer is that it's only available in bottles. It still taste good in a bottle, but would be better on tap. It's the states fault for this!
Just a note the squatters brews their I.P.A and has to sale it to the state, then buy it back from the state in order to serve it. Reallly Lame but its the law.

If you have ever wondered why I travel so extensively, you only needed to see the reception that I got walking into this place. Mentor (Paul) and I had run into a fellow on our Boulder excursion who casually mentioned that he was in from SLC, out riding his motorcycle for a week. A chance meeting, a throwaway line, and yet here he was with his buddy at the bar. A small world continued to shrink.
Walking up, the brewhouse was visible in the far right window with the triangular entry at a slight angle in the center of the space. Entering, the m.d.s. and the gift shop directly behind it, were straight ahead. The beautiful, "J"-shaped, laminated white pine bar was on a right oblique and ran the length of the right side. The back bar began by overlooking the brewhouse and a bunch of FVs and culminated in the kitchen, three-quarters of the way aft. The left side of the space was the restaurant area, which included a working stone fireplace. All of the way aft was their patio area, with the lavatories down a flight of stairs to the left, with a diagram of a Denver & Rio Grande Railroad engine hanging on the wall.
Beer: I began with the cask-conditioned Full Suspension Pale Ale. The nitro-tap had 3 Duck Ale and the seasonals included Racer X Rye; Squatters Wit Bier; and Organic Amber Ale. Their standards included American Wheat Hefeweizen; Chasing Tail Amber; Provo Girl Pilsner; Vienna Lager; Organic Amber; Emigration Amber; Full Suspension Pale Ale; Polygamy Porter - "Why have just one?!?"; and Captain Bastard's Oatmeal Stout. They also offered blends of the Captain and the Girl (Black and Blonde) as well as of Emigration Amber and the Captain (Black and Tan). Squatters IPA was available in bottle, but I am more of a draft man.

This was the second time Ive been to Squatters and both times I really enjoyed myself. The atmosphere is very nice with a couple TVs with sports and news. It semi reminds me of Chilis or TGIFridays with good beer. The service was ok considering it wasnt all that busy and there were a lot of people working.
The food is pretty good as well. I was with a couple friends and we kind of got a bit of everything and just all shared. I got a artichoke heart, mushroom, goat cheese pizza and it was fantastic. We also had some gourmet Mac & Cheese and artichoke dip (or something similar, I didnt order it) which were both fantastic. The beer is also great. They have 8-9 taps along with some bottles of there IPA. I had a brown and a porter that were really tasty. They were actually out of the IPA which sucked because its really really good. Overall, if your in SLC this is a great place to get food and a pint.

Your average large scale brewpub. Decent food selection and service staff that did a good, but not commendable, job. The atmosphere was just the brewpub side of something like a TGIFridays and the food was good, but nothing spectular.
The beer, though, was excellent! My colleagues and I started out with the sampler (brought in on a mini-ski). From light to dark I was impressed. My personal favorites were the porter and the wheat, but I even appreciate the pale ale, which isn't often for me.
After the sampler, I got my own pint of stout, still good. Then I tried their cask-conditioned ale. If they have this on tap when you visit, get it! It's excellent. Very aromatic, excellent balance of hops (nice bitter taste) and malt (to keep the hops from going overboard), and a great aftertaste.

Love the atmosphere of this brewpub, although I was in there on a weekday around lunch time and it wasn't too backed. The crazy Utah drinking laws annoy the heck out of me. I couldn't order the IPA because it was 6% and I wasn't intending on getting food. Apparently in Utah, 6% beer is considered a "liquor" and must be drunk with food because the food serves as a buffer to prevent you from getting drunk...craziness. Anyway, I tried their pale ale summer seasonal and their featured pale ale. Decent beer quality, super fresh and pretty tasty.
Given it's in Utah, this is probably the best you'll find. I'll go back here in a heartbeat if I ever make it back to SLC.

Dropped in on Monday night, not very crowded, but I still had to wait 5 minutes at the bar to be served. This trend continued as I watched as more people sit down. Once I was waited on the bamaid checked on me regularly. They were out of cask, oatmeal stout and a few ales.
I tried a Polygamy Porter, it was good. I followed it up with a Full Suspension Ale, which was even better, but at $4.50 a pint hardly a bargain.
Food wise, I tried the buffalo burger, which wasn't that good. it seemed overcooked and dry, even though I ordered it 'medium'. Now the fries which accompanied it were top notch. I should have just ordered those.
I might pop back in if I an ever in SLC, but overall it reminded me of a chain-style establishment.

I had a great time at this brewpub. The atmosphere was great, but the quality was a bit lower than the atmosphere would let you believe. The service was exceptional. The selection was decent, their website didn't accuratly reflect what they had. My food was awsome. I had a black and bleu burger that was the best I have ever had. Everybody else in my party thought their food was just decent. The value was just that reasonable. The waitstaft was very knowledgable about what their brews were and what that means. All in all I was very happy about going there. Don't drink and review.

Even considering the in-comprehensible Utah 4% rule, Squatter's brew was pretty good. Their catchy names certainly grab hold of your attention. They had eight beers on tap, with another two available in bottle; their selection was admirable for a one-off brewpub. (Their nitro was out! Damn!) I enjoyed their Full Suspension Pale Ale and their Polygamy Porter to no end. (I even started to drink the porter at my hotel since it was available in the bottle!)
The atmosphere was very inviting with exposed beams and tall ceilings. A full-length bar stood in front of their glass encased brewing room. Since it was summer, we hung out in their rear patio area and enjoyed the evening air, two nights in a row. The wait staff seemed pretty knowledgeable of their brews, able to describe the qualities and specific tastes. A nice touch - obviously well trained.
The food was, however, not so great. Dry chicken sandwich and over cooked empanada made for a not so great culinary experience. Oh well, at least their beer was tasty!

Been here a couple of times already. It's a very nice place, but parking is a bitch. There's a PF Chang's across the street if you want Chinese (Pretty Good). The atmosphere is very nice the two time's I was there. Got a couple of different brew's while there. Service was very nice and price was not bad at all. All brew's are 4% or lower, sorry. Food was pretty good, friend order something which was not bad at all, something wrapped in lettuce (chicken, mushrooms, sweet sauce). If you are in the SLC area stop by.
