Poured from can into snifter, got a fizzy half finger of head that dissipated to a ring and a speckling within a couple of minutes. The body is a dirty brown with a slight orange tint to it, similar to what root beer might look like. There are some bubbles rising to the top, and a few floaters can be seen at the bottom of my glass.

The main aroma is figs and raisins, with some cinnamon and spice to help flesh it out. Vanilla and hints of sweet malt and oak round it out.

The flavor is true to the nose, but definitely talks to me more. The figs, vanilla, malt and wood are all much more well developed on the taste buds than they were in the nose. I also get hints of cherries on the back end, it was like they danced on my tongue, adding an excellent extra dimension to the flavor.

This beer was medium bodied and only a little sticky. The carbonation is heavy, helping push the beer over your tongue and down your gullet. Very refreshing.

From a PA haulback in early March:

Into a tulip and a snifter at separate times (only difference is a larger head in the tulip, about 3 finger and closer to a 2 finger in the snifter):

A: slightly dark brown body head noted above, thick foamy lacing along the sides of the glass

S: sweet cherries, heavy malt coming through a sugary sweet way

T: sweet through previously mentioned flavors

M: medium, slightly sessionable, sweet sticky aftertaste and finish

O: I say good for a Belgian Strong Dark Ale and I'd have this one again, though as much as I let it warm I didn't detect any yeast, so, yeah, good for me, but leaves a questionable note of how good it truly is towards its suggested style
