Cheers to magictacosinus for sending this as an extra. Same story as Back In Black: I've been sitting on this can for about two months, not out of disinterest, but because I've had so many other beers to drink! Plus, I've already had this in the past, and I know I like it, so...

Appearance: Clear, golden orange - pours with a big, creamy, bright white head - leaves some big, big streaks of lacing

Smell: Bright, citrusy hops and some pale malts in the back - tangerine and ruby red grapefruit, very citrusy without being aggressive in any way - a sweet fruitiness - some nice hints of pine as well - nicely balanced with the malt backbone - mostly pale malts with a hint of caramel

Taste: On the mild side, and it really works - lots of ripe citrus, mostly sweet tangerine and fleshy grapefruit - some oily grapefruit, too, and some resiny pine - a slight touch of tropical - moderate level of bitterness that increases in the finish - light pale malts, with some caramel sweetness - pretty balanced for a West Coast IPA

Mouthfeel: Medium body, nicely carbonated, drinkable

Overall: I should have tried this about 4 years ago

This is on the mild side for the current wave of IPAs, but it works quite well. It's hoppy without being aggressive. And it's very easy to drink. It would help a new beer drinker better appreciate IPAs. I would be happy to drink this again.

A - pours a hazy golden orange with 2 fingers of off white head. Retention and lacing are both fantastic.carbonation rising to the surface at a slowish but steady pace.

S - definitely smells like a citrusy explosion, grapefruit, pineapple and lemon with a hint of spicy pine aroma subtle toasty malty. The more I smell the less citrusy and more sweet mellow fruits I smell, the bitterness hides as well.

T - quite bitter up front with sweet juicy and also citrusy fruits follow (peach pineapple and grapefruit). Piney/peppery flavors kick in along with toasty sweet caramel and a slight alcohol kick. Slightly grainy and bitter aftertaste. Palate adjusts quickly bitterness becomes less pungent :/

M - medium bodied, well carbonated, crisp bitter and refreshing!

O - very tasty, piney and citrus bitterness. Medium bodied but still super drinkable and refreshing. Thanks No1Smitty!!
