Great place to come to down by the WestSide Market. I really like the atmosphere of the place, and it's nice if you can sit outside (when its not too hot). Staff here are always friendly and knowledgeable about beer, and I appreciate that a lot. Selection is a bit limited, as they only serve their own beers and tend to run out of them occasionally. Not a huge problem, but it sucks when there's only six tap offerings and Edmund Fitzgerald and Lake Erie Monster are gone. Food is tasty and reasonably priced. Definitely a good place to come and get some food with a beer.

Had lunch at the brewery on a Saturday afternoon. The beer was good and the place was nice, clean, and we recieved good service. Eventually did the brewery tour with Murphy and that was kinda cool. An average tour as they go. Pay for sampler type stuff. The food was good. I think that the chef was trying to make a name for themselves because the plates and presentation of the food was nice. It filled me up, but not an overabundance of food that I've come to enjoy at pubs. Only a handfull of fries on the plate... Overall a good experience. I wish that I would have had more time.

Finally visited GLBC! It was *packed* on the particular night of our visit, and there was an exceptional wait, but it was worth it!
The interior was reminiscent of a local joint which made it feel "homey" and the experience was everything that I had hoped for. We sampled fresh pours of Nosferatu, Dortmunder Gold, Edmund Fitz and others that escape me and had an excellent meal to boot. I've been dying to try their beers from a fresh tap, and they did not disappoint.
Service was a little slow, but given the fact that we waited almost 90 minutes to get in and the place was at (over) capacity, it was acceptable. I would prefer to visit on an off peak time/day, but I will not mark down the service as our server was 1) attentive 2) accurate and 3) efficient despite the throng of people that visited this night.
I don't know when my next trip to Cleveland will be, but I'll defiantly stop back at GLBC!

Located in downtown Cleveland, but tucked away off the main strip. Very scenic and historic location. The beer selection was a bit disapointing considering the number of brews in their output, however, the beer on draft at the location is better than anything you'll buy in the stores. They also have specialty brews on draft that are not released anywhere else. The food is a bit expensive, but is of very high quality. The restaurant is a little small, so you may have to wait, but it should be well worth it.

Stopped here on an anniversary weekend up in Cleveland. We enjoyed the free tour and the tastings during the tour. Our tour guide seemed like a little out of it, but was very knowledgeable. We enjoyed dinner after our tour.
Upon arrival there was disconnect between the patio hostess and the pub hostess. Both seemed very clueless and overwhelmed. We waited for 30mins before being seated, even though we had "called ahead". Enjoyed a beer from the bar.
Waitress was great, knowledgeable about the beer and food, humor-able and friendly. Helped us make a decision and offered samples. I settled with a "Rye of the Tiger IPA" and wife had a Holy Moses, both tasty, although, they only had 1 beer on tap that they don't bottle and distribute. Food was delicious, but entree's were over priced for what they were, 11ish bucks for a burger is pricey, but it's all local/ohio food.
I'd go again if in the area for whatever special beer is tap.

Many of us have had the Great Lakes beers. But I would also recommend a visit to the brewpub. The place has got some character, being in an old city building (not sure what it was converted from). Aside from the great beers the food is also good. We sat outdoors in the courtyard...nice atmosphere. Did not go directly to the bar and the table service was not that good. Overall though this place is worthwhile. I definitely go back. If your bringing beer home, take along a cooler as the beer is only sold cold.

We ate there on a slow Sunday afternoon.
The place is very cool looking, Old wood bar with an outdoor patio and a very cool cellar bar. The atmosphere was hard to judge since there weren't too many people there. Those we saw seemed pretty cool.
Service was spotty. Despite making professions of my beer geekness and trying to engage the bartender in conversation, she seemed more interested in talking to other staff and folding napkins. To her defense, it seems many restaurant employees do this when business is slow.
I was beginning to get a complex from being ignored, but the bartender pulled out a good save. After the napkins were folded, she began asking me about my vacation that was just ending and about the four other breweries I had been to that week. She made me feel a little better and turned out to be very nice and helpful in my purchase of glassware. (By the way, of all the breweries I'd been to: Pearl Street in Buffalo, Martha's Exchange in Nashua, NH, Wachussett Brewery in Westminster, MA and Northampton Brewing Co in Northampton, MA, Great Lakes had the best prices on glassware.
The quality of all Great Lakes brews I've had has been great. The two I tried that day, Owen's Olympic Pilsener and the Elliot Ness, were fine. Strong flavored and smooth.
The beer selection is pretty good. About 10 choices in a variety of styles.
The food was a little high priced and not too much variety, but it was pretty good.

Located in downtown Cleveland. My wife and I made a trip up here from Willoughby on a Saturday afternoon to check the place out, and the place was jumping. There was some sort of street fair taking place out side, complete with craft-booths and belly dancers, and the outside seating was pretty packed.
It actually took us a bit of doing to find the place -- we initially confused the brewpub, which is on Market, with the brewery itself, which is only a block or so over.
Once inside the correct building, we found a spacious, tastefully decorated restaurant. The crowd was mixed -- some younger folks, but mostly families. The food menu was alright. Mostly standard pub-fare, but with enough interesting variations to keep it interesting. I had a blue cheese bacon burger, which was quite tasty.
The beer selection was decent, but only one "non-standard" beer was on tap while I was there. I had a glass of the Anniversary Belgian ale, and paid $10 for both the beer and a very attractive commemorative glass. The beer itself was decent, but I was especially impressed by their Porter and their Dortmunder Gold. The waitstaff didn't seem to know a whole lot of beer, but my experience was limited to just 1 waiter, so who knows.
Family-friendly with a good atmosphere in a location with lots else to do. Recommended!

GLBC is located dowtown across the river in a historic old brick building. They have upgraded the place to be as "green" as possible.
The beer is great! You can also get a few beers that are not available anywhere else.
I was there during St. Patty's day, so I am willing to give them another try. However, the service was below average. My server was checking her face book page will running my tab. I also noted she made 2 other mistake with other patrons. I also noted that other servers were more interested in chatting amoung themsleves then taking care of customers.
Overall, this is THE place to hit if you are a craft beer lover in dowtown Cleveland. Just be prepared for spotty service.

I've been drinking Great lakes for years, and always enjoyed their brews. Unfortunately, when I visited the brewery they basically had everything I can already buy in the store. Sure the freshness of the Commodore Perry was greatly appreciated, but I generally go to a brewery to try the brew house specials. The only specials they had were Black Ice (very good) and a Pils (not so hot, but honestly Pils generally aren't my bag). That wouldn't have bugged me to much, but to top it off they had zero guest taps... or bottles for that matter. I didn't try the food, but have always heard good things. They had a nice Gift shop, but whatever. The place was dead. Although it was a Monday at 4:00. So take that for what it's worth. The upstairs Bar was honestly a little nice for my likings, but I'm weird and prefer dumps, or the unusual. The down stairs bar looked very nice (closed while I was there though). It kind of reminded me of a cave. I really wish it was open. I know this review may seem a little negative, but I would return (although I've been to far better). I'm just a cynical Diego. Oh yeah and the service was slow (kind of sad since there was one other person in the bar)
