Pitch black in the glass. Shocker, I know.

Smell, toffee, alcohol, burnt nuts, and a coffee essence.

Taste, toffee and nuts come through first, but burnt grain also pulls through. The hops are present and plentiful, but the alcohol does a good job of keeping them in check. The alcohol isn't "hot", but it is noticeable. The hop flavors are earthly and lend to a solid after taste.

Overall, I've had this many times, but never on tap. It was much smoother, if a little less hoppy that out of a bottle. But it was a great treat to find, and was the perfect night cap to a long day.
