Had this as part of a sampler at a Brussels restaurant for lunch. I love that each "sample" was at least 8 oz.

This fruit beer is made by adding 25% cherry juice to witbier.

A-Light red and clear with a pink head that looks like the red from the cherry juice has bled into the white foam.

S-Sweet cherries dominate.

T-Very sweet-definitely can tell this beer was "spiked". Has a bit of a cough syrup medicinal taste.

M-Nice clean sweetness that finishes quick and smooth.

O-This beer is fine for what it is (cherry juice mixed with white beer)-not to be confused with a true kriek but is an easy to drink beer.

Beer bottle (25 cl.), tasted in 2011.

Appearance : red color, with pink foamy head.
Smell : fruity aromas, with notes of cherry syrup.
Taste and mouthfeel : cherries flavours, watery, with a light tartness in finish.
Drinkability : an average beer in the style fruit beer (inspired by the sweet kriek).

Cherry juice is too strong at nose. The mouth is sickening in cherry. This is refreshing but the taste of beer is absent, we do not even feel the smell of wheatbeer during the tasting. There is only the cherry juice in mouth and it's very artificial. A "grenadine" beer.

The beer arrived a crystal clear rose with a white, low, yet long lasting and frothy head which laced the glass.

The aroma was sweet marachino cherries and a very light bit of tartness with a mild wheat presence.

The flavor was lgihtly tart with a marachino cherry character and a sweetness to boot, but a slightly tart nature.

The finish was eventually dry but with a lasting cherry and sweet impression into the aftertaste. The body was medium with a moderate carboantion which caused a creamy mouthfeel. An ok beer, but a bit overly sweet.
