This is my last brew from this brewery and apparently this drop won a gold medal at the 2010 Australian International Beer Awards so lets see how good it is,it pours a dark cola hue with average carbonation that leaves behind a fast vanishing two finger head that quickly reforms to a layer of froth and thats it no lacing whatsoever,the smell is roasted toasted malts,bitter milky coffee,dark chocolate and dark bitter oaked fruits,it has a medium bodied averagely carbonated mouthfeel and has tastes of roasted malts,dark bitter belgian chocolate,bitter milky coffee,oak and finished off with a dark fruit hoppy bitterness and overall to be quite honest i dont know how this was awarded a gold medal it really does lack the characteristics of a fine memorable brew and its not something you will see me coming back for seconds for cheers.
