So this is the smallest bar in Antwerp. It was a tight squeeze to get in there, but kind of neat. It seems to have been built up instead of out. There was some interesting statues of 1940's USO girls on top of the back bar. Lots of glassware and remodeled bar. The service a bit slow, but one person for everyone inside and out will slow down service a bit. Once we ordered some drinks we sat outside and enjoyed the surroundings. Again a nice day in Belgium and drinking a beer with Stefan from Musketeers was pretty awesome. Neat little place, check it out for a beer.

This was the third bar that we went to in Antwerp, and as someone has said, they were very friendly and helpful!
We were the only customers in apart from one local who happily struck up conversation as the barman helped us with a map of the cafe's in Antwerp.
The beer list was not vast, but this tended to be the case around Antwerp - we had a Winterkoninck each, which was probably our favourite of all the Konincks!
Opposite is a great Italian place "Vernon" with a fantastic view of the cathedral, and very good pizza!

Not overly impressed with this bar, not even sure why it gets a mention in Tim Webb's GBG Belgium?
My wife and I found it out and went upstairs for a seat as downstairs holds about 8 people and there were already 15 in the place. No one else was up here, so we sat alone, the others prefering to squash up and enjoy themselves in their cramped smokey atmosphere below us. We were happy to sit alone as the city was so busy (just before Christmas 2008) and we wanted some time to ourselves and reflect on our day as the sun went down.
From upstairs you can see the bar area and have a fine view of the busy street the bar sits on. Sadly you can also see the filth and smoke stained greasy orniments, advertising boards and bottles which hang above the bar and up the wall towards the very basic upper seating area.
This wasn't quaint dust and touristic fake antiquity, it was grime and dirty.
Nothing wrong with my two beers, the wife only had one, again no problem. Didn't see a beer list but choose two De Koninck on entering and perused the glasses while drinking from my bolleke. I had a Duvel for my second beer if you're interested.
A small place it may be, but that isn't a reason to recommend it to anyone and I don't. There are a vast number of bars better than this in Antwerp.

On a wet July day, my fiance and I ducked into 't Miniatuurke for shelter and a few beers. Of course it was on my list of places to try, but the rain and location made it even more convenient.
This was one of the friendliest pubs I have been to on any continent. Of the ten or so people squeezed into the place, we were the only tourists, but the locals welcomed us and even bought us drinks. We got into a bit of a round-buying merry-go-round, which kept us there for longer than we had planned. This was no problem, except that the mussels we ate afterwards were a little less memorable. The mussels were fine, I'm sure, I just can't remember them too well.
The selection is average for Belgium, which is not bad at all. The character of the place is what makes it worth the visit. There is a small room upstairs, part of which overlooks the bar. A series of caricatures line the wall on the main floor, depicting far younger versions of some of the folks we were speaking with.
To top it all, there was a print-out of GCBrewingCo's review from this site on the wall. Gie was still running the place when we were there, and he had an excellent handle on the job.
If you're in Antwerpen, drop in for a quick one, but the quick one might become a long four, so eat first.

The Cafe 't Miniatuurke was not too difficult to locate about a block away from Der Kathedraal. Gie was our waiter and it turned out that he was also the owner. Some locals sitting outside with us said that he was the 4th owner and that each time someone makes enough money they sell the establishment and then they have to break in someone new. Gie has been in control for about 5 months and appears to be doing a great job.
The claim to fame is that this is the smallest bar in Antwerpen. That would not be difficult to believe at all. Only 4 draft handles were present with only three beers. Two taps housed Cristal Pils, one had DeKonnick and the last was a Lindemans Kriek.
Inside the place you have about enough room for 5-8 people at the bar and a few more upstairs. The gents can hit the WC downstairs, while the ladies should be prepared for a climb.
I saw plenty of other glassware around and perhaps there were bottle selections, but truthfully we had so much fun chatting up the locals that we didn't notice. Where else could you be sitting outside such a small establishment and be satisfied with 3 beers? I'd return in a heartbeat!
