Used to live in Elkton for just a brief time...but I was there long enough to know that this is the place to go in the area if you want selection.
Cases or six packs, this place has a huge selection for regional micros or international brews.
Found Three Floyds (Alpha King and Robert the Bruce), many Rogue beers, Smutty, Victory, Troegs, ets... Also found many J.W. Lees to choose from.
The help was less than educated in the micro scene, but very approachable. Pricing was real affordable...I noticed Dogfish's WW Stout was only $6.99...$2-3 bucks cheaper than my local stores.
A real find if you are in the area.

Wow! All I can say is this place blew me away compared to what I've seen so far.
A: Moments after I walked in a staff member was walking by and asked if I was looking for anything in particular or if I needed help. Everyone else seemed super friendly.
Q: LOTS of great quality stuff, shelves were pretty nicely organized and arranged.
S: Service was amazing. Two of the gentlemen that worked there were more than happy to answer my questions since it was my first time there. Super friendly, quick to answer my questions, and knew what they were talking about. Also had another guy ask if I was looking for something in particular and if he could help in any way. (Maybe it's because I'm a girl, or maybe it's because I looked lost due to the large selection - who knows? Haha.)
S: Really large selection with a lot of domestic and import beers. Found things that I've only seen at either World of Beer (in Arlington) or in Germany. I was impressed with the selection.
F: N/A
V: If you join the discount club you get a few bucks off. I got $5 off a sixer and a 750ml. Not much, but I was happy.

I am overdue for place reviews particularly bottle shops, and it seemed I better start with this one first.
State line at first glance looks like a typical run of the mill keg store from the outside. However, once you enter you notice a very vast selection.
Coming from the Washington DC area the prices here are very reasonable, in fact they are a down right bargain. There's lots of local offerings and when it comes to the US craft section there is a fairly good choice, but also many things that you can get elsewhere.
Where the place really shines though, is the imports to the right, where many people dont seem to be shopping. What is particularly exceptional is the Belgian selection. There were many Belgian beers here that I have never even seen anywhere else in my shopping travels all over the US, it is very extensive. Also there were quite a few things here that normal beer geeks would easily snatch up. To come here is probably a bit out of the way, so lots of these things sit here. I am still kicking myself for not picking up Biscotti Break.
Finally the last thing is the service. I had staff come up to me constantly asking if I needed help or if they could look for something for me. I have all my tools in hand so, luckily I was good. Finally then, they carry it all out to my car. How great is that.
The place is really worth going to once in awhile to find many different brews to try, even if it is truly out and remote.

Was planning a trip to Virginia from NJ and this just happened to be on the way (literally a 1 minute detour off the highway). When I pulled up I was skeptical but don't judge this book by it's cover. Enormous selection of breweries both import and domestic. Belgian section is stupid huge. American selection of bombers, warms sixpacks, cold sixpacksm, seasonals. Basically anything that is available in Maryland you will find here. I scored some Elysian pumpkin seasonal Bombers, Firestone DDBA, New Belgium Lips of Faith limited releases and some Goose Island Juliet. Nothing super super rare (or there may have been and it had been picked over), but just a deep immense inventory. American craft beer at it's finest. Prices seemed on point. There was also some wine and cheese and foodie stuff but I wasn't interested as I was distracted by the immense beer lineup. BONUS: The checkout lady offered to sign me up for a email list and got me 10% off, had no idea, she was like do you want 10% off I said, sure!

What I'm going to say is pretty much along the same lines as everyone else. The building itself isn't anything to get excited about. It's dated and not exactly attractive, the shelves look like former supermarket shelving. You know what? Who cares! This place has an amazing selection. There are a few other nearby stores that have a decent selection and it is a much nicer and newer property. But, I pass them every time to get to this place. The real downside to Stateline...the time and money you will end up spending in there. I don't think I've been able to go in for any less than 30 minutes.
The man in charge of beer in this store, Robert, is there quite a bit and willing to talk to anyone with an interest in beer. Even the young stock boys have some decent knowledge. Additionally, if they aren't stocking a shelf, they are at the register boxing your beers and offering to carry it to the car for you. Nice touch.
Tips:
1.Get a membership. You can do that right at the register when you leave. It's free and it will save most/all of the sales tax.
2. Don't forget that they have an area in the rear of the store (past all the wines) where you can buy several different types of glassware.

I am so thrilled that I made a stop at State Line liquors based on a recommendation from a friend I met at Dogfish Head's Brewpub this past weekend.
Robert and his team have done an outstanding job at bringing in a brilliant line up of beers. The craft beer selection here is clearly a labour of love for Robert and the guys.
Coming in from Canada, we're not used to having so many options when deciding what new beers to try. That's why it was so great that Robert lent his expertise and made several recommendations based on the beer styles I enjoy.
It felt like there was nothing that the guys at State Line wouldn't do to make your visit to their store as awesome as possible.
Although it is about an eight hour drive to the store from where I live, I cannot wait for the chance to visit again.

I was up this way for a work trip not long ago and dropped by. As others have said, it doesn't look like much from the outside (kind of looks like a bait/tackle shop or something), but once you walk in, it hits...absolutely incredible selection!! I am fairly certain that I spent at least two hours in the shop, as it took easily that long to just absorb the vastness of their selection. Additionally, the staff seems to know exactly where everything is, down to single bottles (you can break up sixes and fours)..incredible service!
I had to rearrange my packing procedure (stuffed all my clothes in my laptop bag) just so I could check a suitcase full of beer back home.
this shop is seriously worth a look if you are anywhere nearby.

I make a point whenever I drive up to Philadelphia to visit family to stop in State Line. I find the selection to be fantastic and the prices to be very reasonable. The biggest draw of the store by far is the staff. I've had conversations with a few people and I've always found them to be extremely helpful. As someone who isn't deeply knowledgeable on the craft scene, I sometimes have a hard time knowing what some of the better deals are or what beers I should try. The employees that I talk to have always been very easy to chat with and really do a great job of explaining why certain beers are great values. You can tell they really enjoy sharing their knowledge of various styles. I've been especially fortunate to get some excellent recommendations that I never would have considered had I not asked for some advice. Bottom line, great selection and great staff.
If you're on I-95 on your way to/from Baltimore, make sure to stop here as it's only a 15 minute detour (except of course all the time spent in the store)

Wow... is all I can say. Doesn't look like much from the exterior and the interior isn't a whole lot better. The biggest negative is that it's not real organized, or at least I couldn't catch on to the system in the hour I was there. Otherwise, State Line will be getting all my business from now on. The selection was outstanding, the prices amazing and the workers knew where everything was and how much it cost. They also were very knowledgeable. I visited yesterday, December 22, so it was a zoo but yet the staff was friendly and helpful. They even opened more checkout lanes while I was there, going to a max checkout with 5 or 6 cashiers working. Another big plus is you can buy a 6 pack, a 4 pack or even a single bottle as Maryland laws are not as restrictive as some states. Being able to buy 1 or 2 bottles to try something new is a great advantage. If you live within driving distance of Elkton, Maryland it's a must see.

Used this place as a pit stop for the ten hour drive from Raleigh to NY, home for the holidays. Easy to find, and just off the interstate, can't be beat for convenience.
Not much to look at on the outside but the inside is very impressive. Plenty of room for wine and liquor but the beer section has tons from breweries I've never seen before. Everything is neat and well labeled, and the imports are displyed by country and region. The domestics were real impressive too. I wish I could list some of the new stuff for me but it honestly would be too much. I did pick up a few Buckbean beers, which I had never heard of before, and a strange looking Bulgarian lager.
This was three days before Christmas, so the help looked harried. My cashier got the wrong price twice before getting it right but it was,t a big deal. This store, however, is, and I would definitely try to stop back here again as soon as possible.
