Pours very cloudy and brown with some gold color. The cask version skips a highlight of this on regular tap or bottle - the almost champagne like bubbles. Smells of citrus - especially orange and some lemon. Excellent hefeweizen taste with orange present again and a refreshing overall flavor.

To me this is what a german Hefe is all about. The spicy clove like flavor and aroma. The fruity / banana thing going on. Good wheatyness and sour ending make this one fine weizen. Some may say that the phenols and the esters are too much but not this reviewer. If you don't like the spicyness move to a Frazikaner or an Oberdorfer.

I thoroughly enjoyed this Hef. I am a big fan of this German type of beer, and it is my most sought after beer. Bought this at BevMo and brought it home, frigged it for a bit, then drank with a nice size lemon slice. I would definitely recommned this one for a warm summer day, or even after a long day at work. The citrus flavors that burst out of this beer are amazing and cannot be passed up. If you life Hefe's you must try this one!

Light orange (before and after swirl) with a lively white head. Classic spicy clove and banana-ish aroma. MOre spicy than fruity but a decent balance and a nice tart finish. Medium bodied (leans light due to carbonation) and creamy.
Very solid ! Probably my 2nd favorite Hefe after Weihenstephen.
[16.9 oz bottle for $2.99] A bit pricey but worth it !

Pours a dark golden amber color with a nice frothy white head that stays until the end (which wasnt all that long for me with this beer). Nose is ripe banana, citrus, clove, vanilla, and nutmeg. Fine champagne-like carbonation is very crisp and refreshing in the mouth. Taste is quite fruity with a bit of spiciness and some bready notes and a semi-dry finish. Near infinite drinkability. This is an outstanding Hefe. Great for a warm Texas January afternoon!

This is a fine and beautiful Hefe-Weizen. This German brewery is probably one of the best breweries on the planet. I have yet try something they have made and not find it to be the example beer for that style. These people are not taking a stab at the benchmark - they are the benchmark. This one has a taste that is hinting at fruit and a subtly of bananas with a slight hint of lemon on the finish. The mouthfeel is silky and drawn out by the yeast. The finish is clean and refreshing. This artisan beer is an absolute must try and should be a staple in any serious beer drinkers inventory.

One of the best Bavarian Hefe Weizen beers available in the US. Best served in a proper glass, followed by a moment of sheer admiration at its beauty, then drunk. No need for lemon.

The very best Hefe-Weizen in the world. It poured a thick, hazy golden wheat color with a fair amount of foam and nice lace. The smell of wheat, malt and cloves was so mouth watering, that I couldn't wait to take my first sip. The taste was fantastic. It had it all. The taste of cloves and spices, with a hint of bananas mixed with wheat and malts were the most well balance Hefe-Weizen I've tasted. All this and a sweet feel your mouth with just enough tartness to balance out this perfect beer. Thumb's up to Schneider & Sohn. This is on top of my list for wheat beers!
