9 oz. Bottle. Poured in into it's own Schneider Weisse .5Ml glass.
Appearance: Beautiful amber/orange, almost dark enough for a dunkle for god-sake, nice looking beer, builds a strong head initially but then quickly dissipates to around a 1/4'", has excellent lacing.
Smell: Nice clove and banana as fits the style but also quite a bit of malt flavor.
Taste: Nice, unique for a Hefe, it has the givens as in banana etc. but they are all there behind a nice malty curtain. Really a great hefe to have "when you're having more than one".
Mouth feel: Highly carbonated but easy on the palate, very enjoyable.
Drinkability: Very drinkable, great cookout beer.
A really good Hefe, unique flavor profile. The price is the only issue as it's substantially more than Weihenstephaner and it's (almost but) not quite that great. Like I said, one to buy a few bottles of and appreciate from time-to-time as variety is truly the spice of life.

Very good beer! Poured with a nice off white head that soon settled down and no lace. Color is a hazy/cloudy apricot amber. Aroma is yeast, malt, caramel, citrus, and other fruit. Flavor is similar to aroma with the following qualifications: more tang, more apricot, not too sweet ( just right actually), and all complimenting one another to a lovely whole. Body is good and so is carbonation. Finish is like flavor and tapers very slowly with a slight fruity tartness at the very end. Very easy to like and drink this potion of oral pleasure.

500ml bottle into 0.5L Franziskaner weizen glass. Crazy amount of foam -- took a while to pour, but the foam eventually reduces down to a 1 finger head that sticks around a while even after pouring the yeasty sediment through it. Dull hazy dark amber color, somewhat darker than I expected.
Aroma of wheat and malt plus banana, clove, and slight bubblegum? Taste opens up with a bit of sour lemon, cloves, and banana and yields to a fresh yeasty pretzel bread and light maltiness. Slightly salty earthiness peeks in maybe from the yeast?
Carbonation is too low, and this finishes too wet. Hops only maybe expressed in the initial citrus tang, almost no bitterness. Mouthfeel is heavier than I expected for a hefeweizen.
Tastes a little bland; it's got a nice bunch of flavors working in there, but not strong enough and the bready wheat and malt are not as assertive or deep as I would prefer. Drinkability is a bit "ehhh" since I was underwhelmed by the taste... maybe this bottle was a little old?

Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this bottle. This bottle was labeled Tap 1 Mein Blondes.
The beer pours a hazy yellow color with a white head. The aroma is wheat, coriander and cloves. I don't get much banana in the aroma. The flavor is heavy on the wheat and cloves, but I also don't get much banana. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. A decent wheat beer, but not up to the level of the other great wheat beers from this brewery.

Had this at the brewhouse in Munich. Served in a hefe glass cool.
A-bright orange (almost sex-on-the-beach body) and a thick white head.
S-strong clove, spice and bubblegum aroma
T-bubblegum is pronounced, wet, cereal and lemon flavors
M-light
D-great on tap at the brewhouse in Munich (despite some rude service) and complex without being to headspinning. I would drink this beer again.

This may be the best tasting hefeweizen that i have had in america.
I have had many hefes in germany that i liked better than this one, but here in america nothing has beat it.
It pours a bit darker than expected. almost like a dunkel but a few shades lighter.
you defenately pick up the banana and clove in the aroma.
You pick up the banana and clove in the taste as well.
very refreshing and delicious beer

Appearance: Opaque, toasty brown color. Not as light as many hefes.
Smell: Citrusy -- but not overwhelming. Slightly sweet. Malty. Overall a subtle aroma.
Taste: Now this takes me back to Germany! Has a real Hefe taste, without being too acidic or too strong. Sweet, citrusy, and even a little nutty.
Drinkability: Goes down very easily, especially on a hot summer day. Also, I feel like it's not as harsh as other Hefes.

A - Awesome looking stuff - exactly how a wheat beer should look. Big billowing blonde foam that eventually settles to about 2-3 fingers before slowly dissipating to a half-finger cap and leaves lots of sticky lacing.
S - Cloves, banana, wheat, pepper. Potent and lovely smelling stuff.
T - The taste is a little more subdued with mostly sweet malted wheat and banana flavors, and a bubble-gum finish. The clove and pepper seems to disappear, and there is a minimal aftertaste.
M - Lively carbonation, medium body, creamy texture, clean finish.
D - Super drinkable with a great clean taste - definite summer beer.

Pours a slightly hazy, pale brown color. One inch head of an off-white color. Great retention and decent lacing. Smells of slight lemon, yeast, sweet malt, orange peel, and slight wheat. Fits the style of a Hefeweizen. Mouth feel is slightly smooth and crisp with an average carbonation level. Tastes of yeast, sweet malt, slight citrus, slight wheat, and slight hop. Overall, good body, blend, and aroma. Little darker than I'm used to, but still a good example.

A - Clouded orangish gold color, a bit more amber/brown than other more yellow/golden Hefeweizens. Large, thick, creamy white head. Very good retention.
S - Normal Hefeweizen smells. Good amount of grain/wheat. Some clove and a bit of banana. Some other faint fruity smells.
T - Typical Hefe flavors. Good malted wheat base. Healthy amount of clove (more than other Hefes). Also probably slightly more banana and other fruit flavors than other Hefes. Lots of citrus, orange being most prominent and some lemon. Finishes with good amount of medicinal and some alcohol flavors.
M - Medium body with good carbonation. Creamy and smooth.
D - Really nice drinkability. Goes down smooth and easy. Full feel in the mouth with flavors that don't kill the palate, but make me come back for more.
Notes: ABV = 5.2. Nice Hefe that as a bit more of a spice/medicinal/alcohol kick than others. Also a bit more fruit flavors. Quite enjoyable, and perfect for summer or just an easy to drink beer.

A: pores a wonderful dark color for this style, as it should as the original or standard for this style, everything else is to pale. Nice haze also.
S: Normal notes for the style but no Banana!
T: Wonderful, again no Banana! Is what I don't like about this style and this have none of it? This beer has big bold Wheat yeast and fruity flavors.
M: Vary crisp but not at all to dry.
D: This could go down easy especially if it by the L. and it was in a beer garden on a hot day.

Pours pale brown, almost as if it is a light version of a Dunkelweizen. Near white head forms well and retains well. Nose is pleasantly assertive with a clean fresh whitebready component, light banana clove. Plenty of wheat malt on the palate give it a smooth sweetness over medium body, with the banana clove in the background. Again fresh bready components are noted. Finish is medium long and bready. Very drinkable.

A - A murky golden colour with a white thin foamhead that quickly dissapears.
S - Wheat, Malt and a slight hint of citrus. Very faint smell all in all.
T - Wheat, Malt, citrus and a slight hint of banana. The wheat taste stays a while in the mouth after all the other tastes dissapears.
M - A thin body with pretty strong carbonation.
D -Very good drinkabillity.
Overall: A good beer but I prefer Schneiderweisse original over this one.

Found this for sale at the beers of europe website for a good price.
Anyway, very good hefe appearance in the proper glassware, showing a radiant gold body under a billowing white head that leaves big globs of lace all the way to the bottom of the glass. Textbook. Standard aroma of banana and clove is as expected, though the taste falls short of my hopes a little. The banana and clove are at the forefront and ably supported by lightly tangy wheat. Decent balance between sweet and sour, with a lightly bitter crisp finish that curtails the aftertaste rapidly. Medium body with the billowing carbonation you expect for a hefe.
While this is a good variation on the original I'm not sure its any better.

The weather's turned unseasonably warm this past week or so and I'm knocking off work at around 3pm these days when the weather's still a bit sweaty, and for my part, I've been craving wheat beers. This one, I've never really noticed before. Let's have at it.
Pours a gorgeous cloudy orange with 2 blondish fingers of head. On the nose, banana bread and a smidge of white wine. Not exactly jumping out of the glass at me, though.
Typical banana weizen flavors meet with sweetish bread, cloves and a vague hint of other spices. Bubblegum flavor is present too, especially in the finish, along with a sourish wheaty/white-wine twang. Ghostly hints of other fruits by and by (apples, pears).
Big time, champagne-like carbonation makes the mouthfeel seem creamier than it is. Refreshing.
I like this better than regular Schneider-Weisse by quite a bit, but I can't really put a finger on why... slightly more depth, maybe? I can imagine drinking this alongside almost any foodstuff and it being extremely pleasant at the least, if not a magic match. Addictive - I'm not even finished this one and I want another. Good stuff.

Served cold in a pint glass. It pours a deep golden yellow color with just a slight bit of haze. The soft white head settles quickly leaving a thin layer on top.
Aroma is evident even from a distance which is impressive considering it's a wheat beer and because I generally have a weak sense of smell. It has a very nice characteristic German wheat beer aroma of sweet banana and mild spice.
Flavor is very pleasant with banana, pink bubble gum, and green pear. The spice from the hops is very mild but it's just enough to balance out the sweetness from the malted wheat.
Mouthfeel is light in body with ample carbonation. Without the bubbles it would be quite thin. Drinkability is great, as with most good wheat beers.
Overall it's a very pleasant beer but it falls short of the greatness that is Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier.

Poured from a .5L bottle to a hefe glass the liquid is a nice medium orange with good carbonation. The head is tall and white and leaves good lace.
The smell is very good, banana cloves and even a bit toasty.
The taste is great a really nice brew, lots of banana and cloves with a hint of a roasty flavor you normally get from the dunkles.
The mouthfeel is very good a nit thicker then medium and good carbonation.
The drinkability is good, I would get more of these for sure.

Had this at the Delerium cafe in Brussels - been looking for the Weizenhell version for a long time now. Served in a Schneider weizen glass.
A - Awesome looking stuff - exactly how a wheat beer should look. Big billowing blonde foam that eventually settles to about 2-3 fingers before slowly dissipating to a half-finger cap and leaves lots of sticky lacing. Hazy dark peach color that is a little darker than the regular stuff. Not sure what else you'd want from the style.
S - Cloves, banana, tangy wheat, bubblegum, black pepper. It's perhaps a little spicier than the original, but not super different. Still it's very potent and lovely smelling stuff.
T - The taste is a little more subdued with mostly sweet malted wheat and banana flavors, and a bubble-gum finish. The clove and pepper seems to disappear, and there is minimal aftertaste.
M - Typical weizen texture - moderate carbonation, medium body, soft texture, clean finish. I actually like my weizens to have a little less zing on the upper lip, but otherwise this was solid.
D - Super drinkable. Low ABV, moderate carbonation, great clean taste - definite summer beer. Not sure why we don't get the Weizenhell version in the US, as it's a nice spin on an old classic.

Appearance- Dark brown, murky and cloudy, nice thin white head, no bubbles to be seen, looks like alot going on
Smell- Wheat, yeast, lots of doughy ness, fresh odors of lemon and citrus
Taste- Lemon citrus up front and lots of fresh delicous wheat flavors, tangy fruits hit the tongue, balanced with some definite malt sweetness and slight touch of hop bitterness, a very refreshing sweet yet slight tangy blend
Mouth- light and quafible, carbonation can be felt as if goes down,
Drinkability- incredibly great wheat and was not disappointed again by schneider, so refreshingly crisp and pure, freshness resinates through the beer, very complex yet simply put refreshing as possible, cant wait to enjoy one on a very hot summer day

Served in 500ml bottle at Winking Lizard in Mentor, Ohio into a clean, clear pint glass. It was probably served way too cold, about 45 degrees. Since it was delivered to my table without a cap I did not want to wait too long in order to let it warm up for the thought that it might lose carbonation.
A Pours with a tremendous off white head of about 3 inches which lingered for about 15 minutes and left nice lacing in the bottle. Body is dark caramel brown and opaque from what I could observe in the poorly lit Winking Lizard.
S Sweet wheat, bananas and pear with distant clove. Little to no hops IMO. Possibly even some yeast, grains smell as well. Very inviting.
T Very nice Hefe. Not as sweet as Weizenbock but I don't think that it is supposed to be. There is more wheat, yeast than any citrusy taste but it is really true to the style and really it delivers on the classic hefe that it promised to be.
M Lots of carbonation with that huge head to drink through most of the way through. I did try, by the way, to get a big head from this beer. This is a beer on the lighter side, however with reasonably low ABV and light tastes of wheat and smells of bananas, pears.
D Really great at this ABV and the light, pleasing tastes.
Notes: For me, THE classic Hefeweizen.

A - Poured from a bottle into a weizen glass. Pours amber, fairly darker than other hefeweizens, and with a foamy white head.
S - Malty, wheaty, yeasty, and with faint spices.
T - Akin to the aroma; trademark wheaty taste with more malt than some, fruity, citrus notes and spices.
M - Thinner than medium bodied, decent carbonation.
Notes - A prototypical hefe.

Had this on-tap at Blind Tiger in Manhattan where they have a good selection of beers both bottle and on tap. friendly and informative bartenders. Pours an amber shade. Very easy to drink. A lot of flavor but still very smooth. Good winter Hefeweizen, not too light!! Would recommend this.
