On tap at Kickbacks in Jax. 2011 vintage. Poured into a snifter. White head on a hazy light orange body. Clear and soapy lacing sticks to the glass. Aroma includes sweet bananas, a delicious yeastiness, and maybe some caramel and some clove and white pepper. Taste follows suit with banana dominating. Drank it fresh and now a year old. More earthy and slightly sweeter today but I would say this would be interesting to evaluate as it gets even older. Delicious. Period.

750ml champagne style bottle poured into my seldom used matching tall Schneider Weisse glass 31/5/13 2012 bottle # 32095
A cloudy dark golden orange liquid with bubbles popping up from everywhere, not surprising that there's a massive long lasting cream colored foam that's stills a half inch deep at the bottom of the glass, a thick collar of lace followed by plenty of random patches
S candied pineapple, green banana, guava juice, floral hops, faint brown sugar and some wheaty dry cereal
T faint bubble gum on top of what I smell with more cereals and slightly more fruit, mimics the smell fairly well, I was expecting more Nelson Sauvin, If it wasn't in the name itself I doubt I would've guessed
M not as many bubbles as I would've guessed after looking at the bubbles in the glass, has some weight to it, and more tropical notes on the finish that anywhere else with some lemon rind and the fruit I could smell
O pretty solid Weizenbock that I wish was freshly bottle unlike most brews of the style, I'd like the Kiwi hops to play a bigger part but perhaps that's just the hop overkill love that I have going on, it is fairly hoppy after all
I'm not sure what I expected but I was pretty happy with what I ended up with, well worth a try even if its not your favorite style

750ml Bottle from the Ottawa LCBO for $10 - 2011 edition
Appearance - Slightly hazy amber colour with an average size fizzy white coloured head. There is a high amount of carbonation showing and there isn't much lacing. The head lasted for around 5 minutes.
Smell - Hops, corn, ginger, breads/grains
Taste & Mouth - There is a below average amount of carbonation and I can taste corn, apples, and bread/grains. There are also some green grapes and a touch of ripe banana. It ends with a ripe fruit aftertaste.
Overall – Not sure if this beer is a little past it's prime, but it's still very good. Not something that stands out to me as something I need to buy again though. Happy to have tried.

750ml Prosecco-style bottle. Limited edition 2012.
This beer pours a hazy, glassy medium golden amber hue, with two fingers of dense, puffy dirty white head, which leaves a random array of droopy raincloud lace around the glass as it slowly bleeds away, much like my thumb earlier this afternoon.
It smells of fruity wheat malt - banana, a little bit of applesauce - spicy clove and black pepper, earthy yeast, soft tropical fruit notes, redolent of sassy white wine must, and a further floral, somewhat perfumed booziness. The taste is much sweeter wheat malt, the banana pudding character rising to a heady crescendo, with a receding yeastiness, steady clove and peppery spiciness, mild late harvest white wine notes, and more leafy, floral alcohol.
The bubbles are fairly frothy, but innocuous at the same, the body just on the lee side of medium weight, and quite fruity in its smoothness bearing. It finishes well off-dry, the thick wheat malt dancing a timely waltz with fadingly attractive foreign fruity hops, with the booze, as per usual, the social lubricant.
A rather good weizenbock, my only real beef here is with the sort of indistinct nature of the heralded guest hops - they're there, sure, but not in any measure that I might not have mistaken them for a touch of plain ol' Cascade. The wine character just doesn't permeate, leaving me with a kind of opportunity loss cost feeling. Good, but not as good as I was hoping - perhaps that's the German reservedness asserting itself here.

I'm a huge Schneider Weisse fan and have been on the hunt for this one (only brewed once in 2011) for some time. Picked up 4 bottles when I found it and wasn't disappointed. Poured from a 750ml into a Weizen glass.
A: Beautifully shaped sexy bottle. Pours a lovely illuminated gold with about 4 fingers of expressive head. Relatively clear with no yeast tornado at the end of the pour.
N: As expected mostly yeast and bananas with the slightest suggestion of wine / grape aromas.
T: Lovely, balanced flavor with the Nelson Sauvin hops imparting a chardonnay like roundness and tart sweetness which is very mellow on the mouth. I have had TAP 5 Mein Hopfenweizen many times at the SW brewery and I was somehow expecting the single hopped profile on this TAP X to be aggressive like TAP 5. It's not, it is very sophisticated and soft. Flavors have nice floral angles and fruitiness, green apple and peach mixed in with the white wine vinous notes.
MF: Relatively full bodied with well engineered Bavarian carbonation. Expressiveness helps the various subtle flavors emerge on the sides of your tongue. Refreshing.
O: A nice beer and always good to bad a rarity. I really think this beer has probably mellowed significantly in the the nearly 2 years since it was bottled (day 214 of 2011). I would love to lay a bottle of this down for 5 more years to see how it evolves. I just might , if I can muster the willpower.
