Notes:
Schneider version. This brew is the result of the long friendship of Brooklyn brewmaster Garrett Oliver and Schneider brewmaster Hans-Peter Drexler. Garrett had always admired the delicate balance of flavors in Schneider Weisse, while Hans-Peter had long enjoyed the effusive hop character of Brooklyn East India Pale Ale and BLAST! Garrett's concept for the collaboration was that each brewmaster would brew essentially the same pale, hoppy weissbock in the other's brewery, but with different hopping to reflect the local hop flavor.
Dry-hopped w/ Hallertauer Saphir.

I love wheat beers but I love happy bitterness as well so this was a must try!
Pours a hazy orange with a super thick head that dissipates rather quickly leaving little lacing. Smells very happy. Its highly carbonated with a medium body. At first you get an intense hop flavor followed by some wheatiness ending with a spicy finish. Bitterness is surprisingly low as I guess the wheat after taste cancels out the hops. A truly unique brew though, I really enjoyed it. Not too many happy wheat beers out there so I respect this.

Poured from bottle into tulip. Purchased at Grassroots Market in Jacksonville, FL on business. Pour was very un-eventful...meh. Hazy golden straw color (nice) no head (bad) ...but it is 8.2abv...so...
Smell is good - not mind blowing. Hoppy hefe. Noble hops meet banana and clove crispness. Its actually more hops than I would have thought.
Taste is firstly bitter hop and herbal grassy notes - then some underlying hefe typical banana and clove, but its crisp yet heavy...some spices sine through. Its super easy to drink and pleasant and very very different. Well worth a buy - especially for $5. There is very little you can fault here; and a lot to gain. Well worth it.

A - Golden/Brown, 2" thick fluffy white head, patchy lacing, lots of yeast, very hazy
S - huge wheat, citrus, sweet carmel, chewy bubblegum
T - wheat, citrus, sweet carmel malt, bitter level was low (2/10)
M - med/thick body, high viscosity, frothy
O - Interesting taste. but i would say the nose is better than the taste. Nose is huge and awesome. Was a bit thinner than i expected. Alcohol is hidden so, so well. really sweet and carmely. not sure if i like the overly sweet wheat/carmel taste.

poured into a weizen glass
a: hazy golden orange with a 2/3 finger white head. This looks great. Poured in the yeast and got a ton of floaters in here
s: sugary yeast, strawberry, banana, pear, raw sweet grapefruit. super super fruity. maybe a hint wheat
t: sweet juicy pears, strawberry, sweet cherry right away, a little bit of yeast spice followed by a real nice citrus wheat and sweet malt flavor. this has a fresh bread flavor that then fades into something like a blood orange. final taste is a hint of grapefruit and creamy grain/grass. the 8.2% is hidden quite well. i'm sitting outside drinking this now on a spring day and it just feels right.
m: interesting. its pretty light, but has a creaminess to it that makes it a real smooth drinker
o: this is action packed with sweet fruit and yeast flavor and balanced with nice wheat and malt components. at 8.2% this is dangerously drinkable

Picked this up at a great little beer store in Arlon, Miorge Mihoublon. Cloudy amber-orange pour with nice two finger fluffy white head with great retention and lacing. The nose is pretty typical Weizenbock but with some really nice citrus notes as well. Hints of grapefruit, clove, coriander, tangerine, banana, pear, and white pepper. The taste is even bolder with a great sweet caramel maltiness that nicely complements the hops. Very fruity and spicy with hints of apple, banana, lemon, apricot, grapefruit, coriander, and cloves. The mouthfeel is crisp and tart but creamy at the same time. Overall, this is a great interpretation that I will definitely be revisiting.

Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance- The beer pours a golden amber color with a two finger white head. The head has a decent level of retention, fading over time to leave a nice level of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is fruity and bold. The heaviest aroma is that of a more citrus nature, being heaviest of orange and tangerine, but also having notes of grapefruit hop and a bit of lemon. Mixed with the citrus, are other fruit aromas of banana as well as some apple and pear. There is a slight yeasty and bready aroma with some smells of spice. A candy like sugar aroma is also present there as well producing an overall aroma that reminds me of a fruit roll-up. Quite a delicious smell.
Taste – The taste begins with a wheaty and citrus sweet flavor with strong flavors of orange. Other fruit flavors of banana and apple come to the tongue with more breadiness coming along as well. Toward the middle and the end, the yeast and spice that was detected in the nose also come to the tongue. More toward the end some of the sweeter flavors begin to fade however and a somewhat funky and hay like flavor come to the tongue with an intensification of the yeast as well as some bitter grapefruit joining along. In the end a slightly barnyard, but heavily citrus and wheaty flavor is left onto linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is average to a little thinner for a brew of 8.2 % abv with a carbonation level that is on the slightly above average side. The lower body and higher carbonation are quite appropriate for the wheaty, citrus and funky flavors of the brew and make it quite a drinkable and enjoyable feel overall.
Overall - A rather nice brew that drinks much easier then it should (in light of its 8.2 % abv and more saision like funky flavor)s. It is a rather good drinker and one to try if you get a chance.
