Best before date of July 22nd, 2013
Appearance - Pours a clear, brilliant amber with an off-white, finger width head. Sub-par retention, resulting in a broken layer of microbubbles across the surface. Very little in the way of lacing.
Smell - Moderate caramel sweetness on the nose.Subtle hints of earth and floral hop.
Taste - Mostly a light caramel and lightly toasted grain profile. Touches of diacetyl. Slight lemongrass bitterness near the finish.
Mouthfeel - Medium body with moderate carbonation. Smooth and drinkable.
Overall - Not a bad beer, mostly because there's not enough flavor to truly judge, but what is there is unoffensive, and is actually somewhat good. Just wish there was more. One of those beers you'd buy for a backyard BBQ or when you're feeling the need to get a buzz on the cheap.

A cheap Walmart economy craft style brew.
Appearance:
Decent foamy head. Clings to the glass. Fades quickly. Dark copper color. Light carbonation. Clear. Would've rated it above 4 if not so clear. Definitely filtered and not bottle conditioned. Bummer.
Smell:
Watery, hoppy, biscuit-like aroma.
Taste:
Sweet and bitter. Flavor lingers in the mouth. Tart.
Mouthfeel:
Just right. Good body.
Overall:
Not bad. You get what you pay for. One of my favorite brews at Walmart. Seems somewhat variable from batch to batch.

[Suggested Glassware: Shaker Glass]
The pour was a clear light copper orange with an average (1-2 finger) white foamy head that reduced to a thin cap with fair spotty lacing.
The aroma was extremely mild of a light grain malt, grassy hops and an earthy yeast with a light note of caramel and maybe an adjunct.
The taste was lightly malty sweet with a faint hint of caramel at first, becoming mildly bitter and a tad hoppy towards the end. The flavor was short lived with just a light bitterness left behind.
Mouthfeel was light in body with a watery, dry texture and a medium carbonation.
Overall this was an ultra light tasting brew in every aspect. It reminds me of the light beers on the market today, but with just a little more flavor...

Pours a clear copper color with a thin taupe head. Aromas of sticky bun, malty molasses, and resinous pine forest floor. Quite sweet with a sour wet leaf, woody/pine bark twang. Too drying and overly fizzy for the style. Bought a 6 six and only drank 3. Gave the other 3 away. Not very good.

Never had this beer before, and I had low expectations. However, I was surprised by this beer. I poured two long necks into a 24 ounce mug, and noticed that there was a decent head. This head quickly went away, but there was more of one than expected. There was a little lacing, which I also was not expecting. The color is a decent amber with a little body to it, and the smell is subtle with hints of hops.
The taste is a nice balance of a generic ale taste, and cascade hops. The taste is a little mellow for an amber ale, and it is very, very drinkable. My friend said he noticed some caramel, but I thought it was a little bitter and malty instead of sweet.
This is a good beer, and it is cheap. It also holds up to many similar amber ale microbrews, but is easy on your wallet.

Clear amber colored ale with a decent tan colored head.
Smell is malty with a good caramel scent. Grassy and woody hop aroma. Smells nutty and has a toasted grain aroma.
Starts out slightly sweet and malty with a good flavor of caramel and nuts. Some toasted grain flavor and grassy hop.
Mouthfeel is good.
Overall this is a pretty good ale. VERY surprised by this one. I wasn't expecting much but this is far better than any $5.99 a six pack beer you could hope for. I absolutely will buy again.

Pours a clear, copper color. One inch head of an off-white color. Good retention and decent lacing. Smells of sweet malt, caramel malt, hint of roasted malt, hint of nut, slight hop, hint of metallic, and a hint of pale malt. Fits the style of an American Amber / Red Ale. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of sweet malt, pale malt, caramel malt, hint of roasted malt, slight hops, and a hint of metallic flavors. Overall, good appearance and aroma, the metallic notes notwithstanding a good amber.

12oz bottle poured into an Imperial pint glass. The date on the bottle reads December 31, 2012 but I believe its a best by date.
A - Small cap of off-white head with some big bubbles falls to a small cap. The beer has great clarity and is a light amber. Small bit of lacing left.
S - Pleasant bouquet of citrus hops is most forward. They also seem to have a melon character as well. Some biscuit malts are there but understated.
T - Malt has a better edge here with some toasty flavors that hold throughout. Hops still play a big role following along with the smell. The hops are citrus-like but somewhat earthy. Has a bit of bitterness to it that starts about midway through. Finishes somewhat dry but with a nice balance of hops and malt after.
M - Medium to medium-light body, moderate carbonation, semi-dry.
O - Unsure what exactly to make of this beer. Had a solid aroma with a focus on hop character. Flavor was right there as well but in both fields seemed to be off-balanced. Could have used more malt emphasis and dimension within. Good drinkability but nothing I would recommend or buy again.

A: The beer is clear amber in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high beige colored head that died down a bit but consistently left a thin head covering the surface.
S: Very light aromas of caramel malts are present in the nose.
T: The taste is similar to the smell but has much more stronger initial flavors of caramel and toasted malts along with notes of earthy hops towards the finish. There are some hints of sweetness from the malts but the hops provide a slight amount of counteracting bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied and a little smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer has a great mouthfeel, but seems like it could use more hop bitterness to help balance out all of the malts.

Pours a clean orange-ish to amber color with an off white head. In the aroma, a sweet, small caramel roast that is quite faint. In the taste, mostly dry, sticky sweet to a dry caramel like malt. A small bite and a medium to lighter bodied mouthfeel, with a small dry, sticky skunky hop. EH! Skunky hops, quite lagery for an ale.

Henry Weinhard's Redwood Flats Amber from Hood River, OR.
This beer was a semi-sweet red amber ale. I thought it was a good amount of sweetness. Good taste. Not much of a smell.
I drank it out of a bottle from Kroger in Knoxville, TN on 12/18/2012 from a create your own 6-pack.
Yes.

Pours a clear amber color with a pure white foamy head of maybe one finger.
The smell is caramel, malty, grainy, and toasted bread... with a little sweetness and hops on the back end.
The taste follows the nose.... sweet and crisp with nice bready malt flavor. There is a bit of hopiness on the finish.
While this is not a top notch ale it does not disappoint.... light and refreshing and flavorful. One you could drink many of every day.

A: Tarnished ruby-orange with a neat clarity. Frothy dirty white head sits a finger high with several minutes of stay. Thin film ring encompasses the vessel for lacing of average regards.
S: Light dried apple skin fruitiness, and i do mean light. Light wiff of crystal malt is brief with a soft flowery hop touch. Really isnt alot to go on here.
t: Flavor is a munich-caramel freshness, toasty sweet of light to moderate intentions. A bit of flowery cascade hops provide just the faintest bit of hop awareness. There is a bit of a metallic nature as well that is present.
M: some malt substance, a bit syrupy and slick in texture with a toasted warmth, but overall just an average experience.
O: Overall a moderate flavor, some toasted grain mention, hops are a bit restrained, but after recently sampling thier ipa and classic pale lager this is somewhat of a relief showing some flavor and backbone support in their beers. A no thrill downer for the non-discrimintory red beer drinker.

Found at mix a six at Kroger
Bottle poured into pint
This is the nail in the coffin for me concerning this brewery. I do not think their beers are for me. They are way too sweet for my tastes.
The overall first smell is of malt, I can barely get a whiff of the cascade hops they use.
Taste: Cherry at the begining, hop in the middle, and a long sweet finish
Mouthfeel: thin and watery
Overall, this beer is too sweet for me; I felt like I was drinking Woodchuck or a sweeter cider.
I probably would only try another Weinhard beer unless it was on draught. They are just too sweet for me.

Served in a Lagunitas mason jar.
Something about the words "redwood" and "flats" just leads me to think they wouldn't describe the same place, even if they cooperate... Anyway, this stuff pours a clear light copper topped by a finger of off-white foam. The nose comprises mild toffee, slightly sweet grain, and light grass. The taste brings in more of the same, along with a light twinge of orange peel in the background. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a generally fluid feel. Overall, a nice, if kinda boring, little amber. It's not something I would readily reach for, but also something I wouldn't actively repel.

Best by Dec. 31, 2012:
Pours amber with a thin off-white head that leaves trailing lace.
The smell is of caramel and some lightly toasted dough. A hint of hop spicing is there.
The taste is of caramel with slight toast. There is a mild hop touch in the finish that balances it well enough.
It has a smooth medium body with medium to heavy carbonation. It's slightly buttery.
Not bad for a standard American Amber Ale.

Poured from the bottle into a pint glass, Redwood Flats Amber is a clear, very light golden amber color with a thin, bubbly white head. The nose is rather non-distinct, a mixture of carmel/bready notes that blend in a generic malty sweetness. The taste is also fairly generic, overly sweet upfront and transitions to an overly bitter, unpleasant finish. Mouthfeel is a light-medium body with a silky carbonation; probably the beer's best feature. Overall, not a beer I would order again, drinkable but not likeable.

Ug, another screw cap.
Pours a fluffy like almost 1 finger head on a very aggressive pour with some lighter lacing, over ridiculously clear obviously over filtered amber reddish color.
Nose starts with light reddish malts, little toasty and sweet, hint fruity, hint of grassy hops, little caramel like malts, fluffy malty ale.
Taste starts with light malts, reddish semi sweet malts, a little caramel, but then into not so great flavors, an unhappy yeast or off yeast like bready chewy syrupy weird flavor, light caramel and toasty malt, some light herbal grassy hops, light bitterness, little icky oily flavor, almost rancid oil flavor, bleh. Finish is drier, more icky malts and oily herbal bitter hops, tingly.
Mouth is lighter bodied, fairly good carb.
Overall meh, quite icky and off flavors but not as bad as I expected from the last beer I had from them.

12oz bottle, pours amber in color with a thin, white head, good clarity, head dissipates quickly, leaving no lacing on the glass. Aromas are caramely malt, apple juice, toasted grain. Tastes are toasty grain, apple, grape nuts, caramel, earthy, metallic, familiar flavor of cascade hops are present in the finish. Feel is thin with moderately high carbonation, finishes clean. Overall, pretty average, maybe a little sub-par here.

Finger of head with a reddish hue. Clear, copper colored body.

This poured with a robust one inch head that was bubbly but stayed around for several minutes. The color was of orange but almost pink and appeared to be a Chablis in the snifter. I detected an undertone of sweetness and hops but maltiness dominated. The taste was of an average Amber Ale, malty and sweet but a bit acidic on the tongue. I would drink this again, especially at $6 a six pack, but consider it a run of the mill Ale.

12 ounce bottle. With DEC3112 on the neck. Best before dating?
Pours near clear reddish amber, quick to depart khaki head, leaves a trace of a film, and moderate fine lace.
Just a hint of sweet caramel tinged malts and dusty hops on the nose.
Middle of the road amber, "craft beer" for newbies, more caramel, very light hop presence in the finish. Ehh, nothing special, toss some chicken in it for a spell, give it to your BMC drinking friends or family members, create a little more interest for real beer. But dont expect a transcendant experience drinking this one

This is the newest C-class craft to hit my local mix a six cooler, so I said what the hell and decided to give on of the 3 available a try.
A: Pours a light amber with an orange or lager type body. Starts with a 1 inch creamy, off-white head that dissipates quickly, leaving not really any lacing.
S: Initial aroma is of cascade hops and is followed by an adjunct lager type smell, with end notes of caramel but not really much else.
T: You get the hop flavor up front, but no bite at all. That is followed by the dryness and rice flavor of an adjunct lager. Not much caramel present in the taste at all, finishes with a dry wheat or bread mouth.
M: A mix of flavor and blandness, with a little bit of malt.
O: This was a very unique beer for me. I have never had a blend of a hoppy/adjunct beer before. It was something that started out good but finished pretty shitty. I guess this was an experimental beer for this brewery, unfortunately it gave me a bit of a bitter beer face!
