Enjoyed at Tops in a snifter. Apparently this recipe was sent to Belgium for brewing. So far, the reviews of drinkers here at Tops have not been kind.
Perfectly clear but a little light in color — a soft gold. The fizzy, half-finger head quickly becomes a thin ring.
Super lemony nose. Citrus, crackers, musty grain. Smells more like a pale ale than a tripel.
Ew. Lemon pledge and grain. It tastes like I bit into a lemon peel. Weird, tangy and sour like a warhead. It tastes like many things, but what it doesn't taste like is a tripel.
Medium-light body, highly carbonated, peppery. Too bitter. No booze, though.
Bleh. I’m not sure what happened here, but it ain't good.

Poured from the bottle into a tasting snifter.
Appearance: Pours mostly clear golden amber color with tons of off white carbonation. The head sticks around for the whole pour.
Smell: Mild Belgian yeast spice with some citrusy hops. There is a strong presence from the grain.
Taste: Light and very herbal. Lots of spice from the Belgian yeast. I'm getting some aged hops. The sweetness balances everything out. The hop bitterness builds through the finish.
Mouthfeel: The body is medium with tons of carbonation and a dry finish.
Overall: I thought this was pretty good and easy to drink. A good combination of flavors.

The beer is straw yellow with a soapy white head. The aroma brings tart citrus, hay, funk, floral hops. Smells nice. Tasty flavor. Complex and intriguing. Tart citrus and funk with a hop finish. Well done. Interesting and unusual. this one got my attention. I would have this again.

Pours an effervescent golden straw color with a large white head. Excellent aroma of spice and yeast with tons of bread and biscuit malts. It’s mildly dry with a nice floral character. The flavor is moderately sweet with a strong maltiness. The finish is dry with lots of yeast, spice, and floral notes. Really enjoyable, crisp, and refreshing.

A: Pours a very light, clear gold with a billowing white head that takes about one minute to recede into a thin mousse.
S: Aromas of talc, straw, hay, lemon peel, kumquat, and bready, spicy Belgian yeast are present on the nose.
T: Notes of unripened pineapple, mango, carambola, lemon peel, lime zest, grapefruit rind, kumquat, bitter orange, grass, straw, chalk, talc, biscuit, and spicy yeast wash across the palate. The finish is bitter and citrusy, with a punch of bitter orange, lemon peel, grapefruit rind, and kumquat flavors.
M: Very light and thin in body and initially resinous, but dries out quite a bit on the fade. Carbonation is spritzy. Alcohol presence is very subdued, making this ale quite sneaky.
O: In many respects, this is really more of a Belgian IPA than a tripel. The very subtle malt base, yeasty aromas and flavors, and huge hop punch are all hallmarks of the style. So, judged as a hoppy tripel, this ale is a failure, but judged as a Belgian IPA, it is mostly a success. If the mouthfeel weren't so slight this would be a knockout Belgian ale. There are great hop aromas and flavors here, but the end result is just a little off-kilter.

Pours a golden color with a big sticky white head that stuck around. In fact this one gushed like crazy when opened
Aroma is a little bit of an oily floral hop bouquet along with some spice and Belgian malts.
Tastes like a Belgian pale. Lots of pepper and pilsen malt with a little bit of an earthy bitterness.
Light mouthfeel although there is some oily body to this. Despite the gushing upon popping the cork, carbonation levels were medium.
Not horrible, just kind of mediocre. Worth trying, but wouldn't seek it out.

Look: Straw yellow in color with a 1 inch white frothy head and exceptional retention and lots of carbonation bubbles
Smell: Clove pear and peach with some grassy notes on the finish
Taste: Lots of pear upfront with some straw/grassy note with a slightly sour finish
Mouthfeel: Light body and tons of carbonation with just a hint of tartness
Overall: I really enjoyed this beer and I think this is one of the beer colab's I have personally had

Poured into pint glass.
Appearance: straw color, pours 2+ inches of thick white head, fades at a moderate pace, minimal lacing.
Smell: earthy, citrus, grapefruit, a little funk, estery.
Taste: citrus, earthy, a bit estery, bready, peppery, Grapefruit.
Mouthfeel: medium bodied, good carbonation, crisp, a bit tart.
Overall: a very tasty beer, the best beer I've had from BJ's, fairly complex, drinkability is very high.

1007th Review on BA
Bottle to Bruery Tulip
750 ML
2011 Seasonal for $12.95
App- A golden yellow with a lot of shimmer behind it. A bit of a gusher out of the bottle. A big 3 finger pure white head sat for quite a while. A small amount of cling that fell to a nice pond layer of bubbles.
Smell- A bit buttery like a Biere De Garde. Had a nice oily hop aroma behind it. A little bitter from those hops as well. A bit of a champagne like bubbly yeast.
Taste- This really didnt taste like a Tripel to me. This really had the flavors of a Belgian Strong Pale Ale. A little more hoppy bitter on the taste. Very spicy peppery with a lot of yeast as well. A little bit dry and earthy.
Mouth- A lighter medium body with a medium carbonation. Very yeasty residual flavors with a bit of that butter flavor from the nose.
Drink- Pretty good for a collaboration. I would say that the buttery Biere De Garde flavors bring it down a little bit.
