This beer has a certain je ne sais quoi. I guess you could call it a "wakarimasen". Slap an American label on this, and it's Budweiser. I guess the only thing that draws me to this beer are memories of getting drunk in Japan, sucking down Asahi by the gallon.

You can buy 2L Asahi out of vending machines.

As far as appearance...it's yellow. Smell? Like a ricey-beer. Taste? Like someone cooked some jasmine rice in some beer and then poured the beer back into a glass.

Overall, it's an underwhelming experience...but damned if I can't stop drinking these.

This is a mediocre beer. Pours a bland yellow with a quickly dissipating head. Too much carbonation. Smells a bit like soap. The taste isn't awful. Has more of a malty flavor than the average macro lager but has a faint metallic taste to it as well. Crisp and dry mouthfeel.

Always rate to style...

Clear, yellow, very little soapy head.

Not too much to report on. Rice, dry, peaty.

Wet, high carbonation, crisp, light, not too many flavors.

Uneventful. Great in Sake Bombs. Refreshing for a hot spring day. Recommended as a back up brew.
