The beer pours a dark yellow color with a nice even cap of foam floating above. The appearance is typical of an adjunct lager. The aroma is mainly bready. The flavor is light and clean save a few hints of husk. The adjunct emerges a little more as it warms. Nothing extraordinary here, but it would do well washing down Japanese fare.

Appearance: Pale yellow color, quite light. One finger of head which was fizzy not creamy, and gone in about a minute. Left no lacing.
Smell: Very light aroma of rice, not much else.
Taste: Typical adjunct flavor, most of what I get is rice. Just a touch of hops, little malt flavor.
Mouthfeel: Subtle would be kind. Not much body, finishes dry.
Drinkability: Easy to drink. Should go well with many kinds of food; no flavor to interfere with your appreciation of the food. On the other hand, there's not enough to entice me to drink more than this one. Ordinary, but not objectionable.

Clear golden color with a 1" snow-white cap. The bubbles are attractive. Otherwise it's average.
You can use this to "clean your palate" in between sushi rolls and wasabi. Otherwise it is an unremarkable rice lager without any particularly prominent flavor.

I had a can of this on a shinkansen from Hiroshima to Shin-Osaka, looking for something interesting to try for the 1.5 hour trip. The station didn't have that wide a selection of beers and this was one I hadn't tried so...
The beer was kind of a middle-of-the-road loager by most measures. Clear golden color with a 1-2 finger head. Muted aroma with more malt than anything else (but little of that). The taste is OK, not anything objectionable in the flavor but not anything really tasty either. Not complex but I guess this hits the target that Asahi set for the beer.
Not to be tried again. Unless maybe it's the only beer at a restaurant in Japan.

A-Dark straw yellow nice white head, doesn't retain itself for very long though
S-A little watery, hops, a little wheat, and malt
T-Hops, Rice, Citrus, It finishes sweet rather than bitter
M-Crisp, decent amount of carbonation, goes down quite smooth
D-Very drinkable, I think this is a type of beer to have a session with. I like it a lot better than say bud, even though it is a rice lager not an american

Tried this one at the Asahi beer factory in Kanagawa, Japan.
Appearance - Bright golden color. On tap, it's very interesting to roll around in the glass and watch the tiny bubbles move like in a lava lamp. From the can, it acts pretty much like most other Japanese beers and produces a high head which dissipates quickly. However, it leaves nice lacing on the glass and if you do a good pour it can last a while.
Smell - Meh, it's got a sweet, malty aroma with slight hops.
Taste - I was pleasantly surprised with this one. It's got a nice balance of malt and hops with some rice in there. Leaves a nice aftertaste which makes you not want to stop sipping. The froth has a nice taste as well and magnifies the beer flavor.
Mouthfeel - Very creamy for a draft beer. I can savor this beer for a few seconds before swallowing it down.
Drinkability - Definitely a great one to put down from the tap and not so shabby from the can. However, you need to give the can a few swirls to release the carbonation to keep the good points of the beer going.
Definitely a nice one to try, especially if you have doubts about Asahi's brewing ability. I drank this beer exclusively for a couple months until it got old.

This beer had a pale golden piss color with a very frothy head. Plenty of lace left behind on glass. Many Many bubbles. The smell was very faint with a bready yeasty smell. The taste is very light and smooth, mellow if you will. Some what watered down. The mouth feel is smooth and slick in the mouth. It goes down smooth and fast, defiantely a chuggable beer.

Pours a light gold with a moderate white head that retains for a bit.
Smells a bit ricey and a bit malty, but not very strong.
The taste is mild and a little dry. No hops to speak of. Perhaps a bit bland.
Mouthfeel is smooth and thin. The carbonation doesn't really come through.
A so-so beer. I prefer a Sapporo over this for taste. Similar to a Kirin but a little drier.
