The beer emerged from the 33 cl can revealing a very pale golden brew with modest head. The aroma is offensive. Funky--not in a good way--adjunct banters about causing the imbiber to repulse. The flavors are similar and difficult to get swallow. Pissy.

Appearance: Very pale yellow color. Poured with about an inch of thick head, which was gone in less than half a minute. No lacing. Plenty of bubbles rising in the glass.

Smell: Just a hint of sweetness before it was gone.

Taste: Lightly sweet with almost no hops bitterness. Very typical American Adjunct flavor. Slight metal twang.

Mouthfeel: Light body. Not a lot to savor. No big problems, though. Adequate carbonation.

Drinkability: Very drinkable, as there is too little flavor to slow down for. If you like to drink a lot, you could with this beer, but I'd rather grab something with more to it.

This entry is to discern Yanjing's Ben Sheng (本生) draft beer from its Chun Sheng (纯生) Draft beer (the "draft" version of Yanjing encountered normally).

A: Clear light straw, about one finger of frothy head.

S: Light malts, slightly sweet.

T/M: Light adjunct malts, sweet, very crisp and well-carbonated.

D: Drinkable, but only to complement stronger flavors in Chinese food.

Serving type: bottle
