LCBO six pack bottle purchase- This pale lager poured a sparkling gold, and was topped with a loud and fizzy white cap that faded to a small ring. The aromas were not appealing at all. Quite metallic and of rotten vegetables with creamed corn and grains. The taste reminded me of coors light, but with added rotten vegetable sweetness and grains. Quick, abrupt, corn finish leaves me wondering why this is sold at all? Even for a pale lager, this is bad. The worst of the new beers available at the LCBO.

Bottle: Poured a golden yellow color lager with a small white bubbly head with minimal retention. Aroma of skunk is pretty intense and frankly a bit expected when green bottle are used to transport beer 3000 miles from the brewery. Taste is a mix of boring weak malt.

12 oz clear bottle, no freshness date noted.

Clear dark golden, with a spritzy white, rapidly disappating head.

Aroma is light, maybe some corn, definately some rice, a little metalic.

Flavor is lightly sweet, rice pudding with some fruitiness, (kind of like those weird orange fruits you see in the buffett line) and some metal.

Creamy texture. Light bitter finish.

Official state beer of China? I guess they don’t have much of a choice. Thankfully I do.

Looks like beer, taste like old socks. This has that malty sweetness, or corn like flavor beers get when they have hit the sun and fridge too many times, not very good, but it is "green food" at least, so your set if your Logans Run. It was on sale at an asian supermarket in the SF, $5.19 a sixer, what a deal, now i will put it in the garbage.

Big 600ml bottle from some hole on the alley in Hong Kong. Around a buck forty. Served in a tiny glass.
Pours a thin yellow color, with a nice head that disappears in about 3 seconds... like a soda. Quick swirl produces nothing to smell, so I pour again and smell fast.
Smells a bit like urine and corn... getting better. Lol.
Taste is a bit of ginger, and generic lager flavor... but the ginger is at least semi interesting.
Thin, and not surprising, not that great. But the ginger was a surprise.

Appearance: Light golden color. Less than a finger of foam on pouring, lasted less than 3 seconds, leaving nothing with which to lace.

Smell: Very sweet malty smell. Sugary, cotton candy.

Taste: Okd musty taste. Wonder where all that sweetness went? Not here. A touch of bitterness.

Mouthfeel: Light body. Crisp finish. Plenty of carbonation to scrub the palate.

Overall: Getting close to drain-pour territory. The taste is not appealing to me. As with all my reviews, glad I tried it, if only to know not to buy it again.

Coming in a 330ml can, BB 24/04/2012, served chilled in a stemmed lager glass.

A: coming in a dark straw colour with moderate carbonation, without a substantial beer head.
S: light maltiness with a doughy edge, not assertive but the slightly sour note of lager beer is obvious, at times reminiscent of prunes even.
T: a gassy swallow of semi-sweet grainy malts precedes the lightly dry palate and a mysterious sour edge, while an interesting perfumey touch of fruitiness lingers at the back as well. It’s not particularly dry in the finish, but pretty clean without bad influence from sickly sweetness, either.
M&D: the carbonation feels more lively on the tongue than meets the eye, the body is thin but not totally without form. All in all, this lager beer is a watered-down version of German Helles lager with added adjunct. Not horrible as Bud or Coors, though.

Drank straight from a 330ml green bottle.

Smells ok, not to bothered.

Tastes light malty and hoppy, quite watery and refreshing.

Overall a decent cheap beer great for drinking in enormous quantities. Not wanting to be snobby, so what more did you expect?

One more CAN for The CANQuest (TM), courtesy of EinWeizenbitte who has seemingly opened Asia and Europe to the journey. Fantastiche!

From the CAN: "This draft beer is carefully brewed with selected natural materials to reach the distinctively refreshing and uniquely smooth taste." The rest of the labeling was Chinese characters and I am sadly ignorant of Chinese. Stamped into the top were "Dont Litter Lift Ring" with an arrow towards me and "Push Back Please Recycle" with an arrow towards me. Very Claymore mine-like. Hmmm. From "Jarhead" - "Hey, Sarge, which direction do I set the charge?" Wow. It's effin' embossed - "This side towards enemy". I'm still recovering from the effects of last night's Guinness CAN scare, apparently. Stand by for cracking of seal!

WHHOOOM!

Sike! Nope, nothing. It didn't even give off a slight hiss, making me wonder about its carbonation. Stand by for Glug! Glug satisfactory, no unnecessary rattling of foreign objects noted. Bone-white head achieved finger-level status briefly, then began to fail. Ultimate outcome = mere wisps. Color was a light sunshine-yellow with NE-quality clarity. Nose was very sweet and sugary even for (maybe especially for) the style. Not unpleasant, but not lager-like, nor even adjunct like. It was like candy in terms of its sweetness. Mouthfeel was medium with a much drier, less sweet taste on the tongue than the nose had led me to expect. If they have the style right, this will be one of the better examples that I have had on The CANQuest (TM). Finish was quite dry, almost like a Malt Liquor in terms of its dryness, yet at a much more reasonable ABV. This would be pretty drinkable, if you CAN lay hands on it.
