Standard brown bottle.
Pours copper color, clear with lots of carbonation bubbles. Beige colored foam, head quickly shrinks, minimal lace. The aroma is very malty and a bit nutty. Sweet with some herbal hops. Lots of malt flavor, biscuit, caramel, toffee. The finish does have enough hop bitterness. Highly carbonated, mouthfeel is a bit thin and light. Good tasting beer, above average.

Clear copper in colour with a thin beige head. Lots of carbonation visibly rushing to the to, but only a slight cap is retained.
The aroma is fairly malty, with a toffee and nut impression. Toss in a touch of flowery hops and it is pretty pleasant.
Flavours of biscuits and toffee lead to a slightly alcoholic middle and finish. The hops are notable, but don't keep up with the malt or liquor flavours. That being said, all the ingredients for a tasty maibock are there, and it is fairly good.
Body is not very full, and the carbonation is on the higher side. Would be a little more appropriate for a lighter beer, but it isn't bad.
Despite less than stellar scores, I find myself going back to this one frequently since I picked up the sixer. Worth checking out.

Alley Kat's 2008 spring seasonal is here...
Crystal clear and orange...minimal white head that dissipated quickly. Very few carbonation bubbles, no residue, looks kind of boring.
Sugary sweet corn in the nose, faint hay and alcohol sticks out like a sore thumb.
Light spices that sink into a malty, very biscuity sweetness...more corn, some honey and lots of barley. Very grassy hops, bitter finish that goes well with this awesome May weather. Carbonation is practically non-existant, body is thin and creamy...slightly astringent and quite cloying.
Honestly, it's not a horrible beer, and for Alley Kat's first real foray into a maibock, it's a pretty decent job. Carbonation was quite lackluster, alcohol a bit upfront, however it didn't hold the flavour back and the fresh hops are delicious! Definitely can see this being improved upon and turned into a marquee beer.
