Poured into a pint glass and it has a medium golden hue with a one finger head that disappeared very fast. Very little lacing.
The smell was malty and I really couldn't pick up hardly any honey smell which is surprising.
The taste is a sweet malty flavor with a feint hint of honey.
Overall its very drinkable but would have liked to had a stronger honey flavor. I would drink it again but only in a variety pack, I wouldn't buy a pack of just this beer.

Pale, straw golden here, with a massive head of white foam. Nice lace.
Honey and yeast in the nose.
Very sweet on the palate, with a heavy-handed honey tone. Light-bodied and almost adjunct-like. This one seemed thin and sweet.
Overall, not terrible, but not good either.

Grab the fishing pole and a cooler of these and you will have a great day. I do not know what it is but I always relate a Leinies to an outdoor activity. What's wrong with that? I guess it is not too bad. Honey and beer go together like PB & J. A great combination. This beer is a clean crisp and refreshing wheat beer. Not to exciting to look at or smell but it taste pretty damn good. Great session beer. My best friend from Minnesota likes to put a lemon with it.

12 oz bottle poured into a pint glass
Appearance: Clear golden yellow color with almost no head. Minimal white lacing. Mediocre carbonation.
Smell: Wheat, grainy malts, crackers, and honey.
Taste: Pretty much the same as the nose, very sweet.
Mouthfeel: Almost watery. Light bodied.
Drinkability: Very easy to drink. Sort of bland. Crisp and clean.
Ending notes: Overall, not too impressive. I didn't hate it, but I won't be getting this one again anytime soon. Average summer beer at best.

12-oz bottle poured into a weizen glass
A - very clear golden yellow beer under a thick 3-finger white head. The head melts away in average time, leaving ample lacing. A layer of white foam lingers on the top for quite a while.
S - lots of citrus (lemony), some wheat, and maybe a hint of honey
T - decent weizen flavor with a hint of lemon; fairly grainy and not much for hops; refreshing, would be great for a warm summer day
M - light-bodied and high carbonation
D - I could put down two or three of these with little effort.
If you've never had Leinenkugel's Honey Weiss, it's definately worth a try. I recommend Leinenkugel's Spring Variety Pack, which includes Honey Weiss.

Now here's a brew that makes me drool a little and say mmm. . .beer. There is nothing special at all about this beer. In fact the honey taste is either hidden very well or non-exsistant. This isn't a bad thing but makes this beer rather boring. This one is best enjoyed as a 12 pack. Honey Weiss goes down smooth and tastes pretty good.

From notes on tap: Pours golden with minimal head which quickly diminishes. Initially smells like burning plastic but warms up to a slightly sweeter aroma with floral overtones. Easy to drink, no flavor to speak of other than a slightly sour finish and a fake sweetener-like aftertaste. Not remarkable, not out of the ordinary and not something I'd go out of my way to drink again.

A - Golden color. Not much of a head on this. Clear.
S - Disappointed. Expected honey or sweetness but not really getting it. Smells malty.
T - Again, its good but just bland. While the taste is of bread, and some sugary finish, there isn't honey flavor at all.
M - Smooth beer. Not heavy and very little carbonation.
D - A good drinker for the summer months.
It isn't a bad beer but not one I'd go after specifically.

Brown 12fl oz bottle, just out of date when reviewed. The third beer in my random weird tasting evening 28 Jan 2011.
Poured into my Westmalle chalice: Kristal clear body, bright, golden colour: head did a runner before I could take a look, thin collar after first sip.
Tried to detect some honey smells, but failed, no taste of honey either. The whole experience was a little bland to be honest, lacked any real flavours or individuality, just a boring brew with a name that promised a lot more than it gave.
I'll not be having another!

Pours a nice bright, clear yellow. About a 2 cm head...sticks around a little bit with a little foamy lacing.
Smells of a little citrus, but predominantly a wheaty smell. No hint of honey.
Very light and carbonated on the first drink. No hops to be tasted, very little malt overtone, and about the same amount of wheat taste as other weizens. For the life of me I can't find the honey...maybe just a little towards the end of the drink.
Drinkability is very good. I could pound these like bud lights all night.
Overall, nothing outstanding. But on a hot summer day of mowing grass, it'd be great. Was expecting a little more honey taste, not sure how that would affect the beer overall, but an interesting thought. In the end, I would recommend this brew, for someone looking for an easy to drink weizen.

TWIST OFF :-)
Golden straw color beer that isn't quite as pale as most American lagers; It has a bit more of a golden hue to it. This beer keeps its carbonation launching and will keep decent head retention if left alone. I smell herbal notes and honey with just some malt. This beer tastes of the herbal honey notes along with very little hop bitterness and a sweet malt backbone. This is a bit lighter than the beers I've been drinking lately so it's a very nice thirst quencher and drinks very easily. This is the first and only kellerweis I have tried but it is a pleasant one. The wheat is also a noticeable difference from the barley

Drank a ton of this back in the day, had another recently to confirm my thoughts. Meh. Good clarity, lots of carbonation. Smell was of nutrisweet and sawdust.
Taste, like diet tea, toffee, nutrisweet. One of my least favotite offerings from Leinies, and I subscribe to the thought process of Leinie Red = Leinie Feet.
Can't believe this stuff is going for $7+ a 6er now, not worth it at even half that price.

Poured from a bottle into a Pilsner glass (I don't have a Weizen glass)
Look - straw color, clear, with about 2 fingers of off-white foam that dissipates somewhat slowly. Very good carbonation.
Smell - not too much of a smell. Subtle hop flavor, maybe nobel hops. Not smelling much of the honey.
Taste and Mouthfeel - sweet taste in general, but can't seem to find the "honey" in it except maybe in the finish. As with the smell, not a very strong taste. Texture is pretty well-balanced, but leans a little more toward the watery side.
Drinkability - drinkable brew, but not complex at all in the taste. Still not bad-tasting either. Had one yesterday in the bottle and tasted completely different.

Somebody left this behind in my fridge from a recent party. Looks like I win.
A - Very pale straw color. Very little head.
S - Pretty good smelling beer. Can smell the honey and a bit of lemon.
T - Sweet taste of honey.
M - Great light feel, plenty of carbonation.
D - This is a very easy drinking beer. I could have several of these with no problems at all.
Pretty good beer. Admittedly my tastes are a bit on the week side but I really like this beer.

A - Looks like a pretty clear golden yellow. Carbonation makes the head die down very quickly with very little lace to speak of. Kind of soda like.
S - Smells rather pleasant. Got the honey, mild grain, and lemony zest down perfectly.
T - Liked it considering Leinenkugel's does great things with the flavor of their beers. You get sweet honey balanced with mild hops (very little) and grain then finishes kind of bitter with lemon.
M - Where it gets in flavor lacks in body. Very light and thin
D - Kind of boring, one dimensional and body was way to light for me to consider a second purchase. Still it was cool to try and overall a tasty beverage.

A: Pours a nice gold color. A small head comes up, but dies quickly and doesn't leave any trace that it was ever there.
S: A bit of honey and some bread notes. light, not overwhelming, and forgettable.
T: Pleasant some honey, a bit of peppery spiciness is detectable. There is also a fair amount of lemony zest and some breadiness as well.
M: Heavily carbonated and pleasant.
D: While it is nothing special as far as taste I could go through a six pack easily. It would be a remarkable hot weather beer. On a cold night though it leaves something to be desired.

A - Pours a clear, straw yellow color with a towering white head. Slight lacing drips down the side of the glass.
S - Wheat, banana, and some bread like notes.
T - Fairly mild taste, wheat based on front and fades to a sweeter flavor in the end. A little bit of metallic taste in the after taste.
M - Light and watery.
D - Drinkable is one positive attribute of this beer. It would be good on a hot summer day where refreshment is as important as taste.

12 Ounce brown bottle poured into a pint glass
Appearance: Light yellow in color with a good amount of carbonation and about an inch of foamy white head.
Smell: Sweet smell with a slight bit of yeastiness to it.
Taste: Really pleasant taste. It has a little bit of a bread like taste mixed with a little bit of sweetness. There is very little bitterness to balance the sweetness but the sweet flavor is not overpowering.

12 oz bottle into a pint glass
A:Small, loose head. Completely clear, yellow. High carbonation activity.
S: Nice clean malt, small honey aroma. A tinge of lemon and something else (ammonia?)
T: A little bland but I love how the wheat/malt step up and pleases the palate. Honey only shows itself on the finish, which is a plus in my book.
M: Hgh carbonation pretty much rules the day with this one.
D: Excellent drinkability. A good middle ground for those of us who like good flavors and those who drink the "big 3". I can't say I order or buy this one a lot but I always enjoy it when I do have one.

#28. My second Leinenkugel product review. The label doesn't reveal much about the product, so I'm gonna have to dive in blindly this time.
Poured from a 12oz. bottle to a pint glass at room temp.
(Appearance) Great pour. Pours a thick two finger depth super foamy head that recedes at a modest pace, but stops at a half finger depth leaving a thick cover over the beer. Lacing is bolder than in most light beers. Color is very light amber, a near champagne tone. Carbonation is very lively. This beer has a bright and spritely appearance. It looks quite good. 4.5
(Smell) Wheat with a touch of honey and perhaps some light citrus ream. Spices, malts and hops are hard to find. Smell is very light and clean. Could be much bolder and have more dimension. Aroma doesn't stand out much. 3
(Taste) Taste is a medium tone of wheat and honey finishing with bold honey tones and slightly bitter spices. Some very faint bitter hops don't interfere with the taste much, but it's pleasant. Nothing knocks me out cold here, but the beer is decent. 3.5
(Mouthfeel) Slightly thicker and more frothy finish. Beer is relatively smooth and medium bodied. Carbonation doesn't intervene much here. The beer is slightly dry. The mouthfeel is pretty good makes this a pretty good honey wheat beer. 4
(Drinkability) Easy to drink, even with being a medium bodied wheat beer, flavor is enjoyable enough to have a second round. 3.5
Verdict: Looks very good, tastes above average. There isn't much to distinguish this beer above the crowd of honey and wheat brews. You shouldn't be disappointed, but then again you shouldn't be astounded either. Not a bad Leinenkugel brew. I wouldn't mind running into this one again. B (3.65)

A - bubbly straw yellow, with fluffy temporary 2 finger head.
S - grain, wheat, hint of honey.
T - more grain and wheat taste with such a subtle sweet finish from the honey.
M - light body, goes down smooth
D - This is one of my favorite Leinie's; good summer beer and many non-beer lovers may enjoy it. Very sessionable. Great post grass-cutting beer.

Very pale, little head which dissipates immediately.
Not much smell to it at all.
Taste's light, but no honey. There's a hint of vegetables--broccoli. Bizarre, really. Not great.
Decent mouthfeel. Best thing about this beer. It's pretty full-bodied.
Not very drinkable, but would do in a pinch.

A - Crystal clear yellow body with a minimal white cap for a head. No lacing to speak of.
S - Not much of a nose at all...somewhat sweet aroma, I'm guessing from the honey. It kind of reminds me of a macro adjunct a bit.
T & M - I'm not impressed. This isn't much better than your average macro...the only thing it has over Miller Lite is that it has a very slight honey sweetness, barely intelligible. This is supposed to be a tuned down version of a Hefeweizen...it has shown no character of a Hefe whatsoever. Thin and watery body, very coarse on the tongue from the carbonation. I guess it's crisp enough, but then again, it's gonna be crisp when there is nothing to the beer.
D - As far as drinkability, this is a quaffing beer when you're looking to hydrate while mowing the lawn on a hot Summer day. It's too rough to even be served in good glassware, this is one you drink straight from the bottle. There are much better beers out there...go for those beers before you pick this one up.
