11.2 oz bottle: label proudly proclaims "world's finest". We shall see. Poured into a proper porter / stout pint glass.

A: Pours a dark ruby brown. A little disappointing considering the style. Would have expected a darker hue. Almost no head : very low carbonation on this one.

S: Pleasant aroma of sweet pipe tobacco dominates the nose. Milk chocolate and light roasted coffee are a distant second.

T: Well, what do you know, looks can be deceiving, this has a lot going on with the taste profile. Hint of bittersweet chocolate, morning roast coffee with a very subtle and satisfying bitter hop finish.

M: Not overly malty or dry . it's just right.

O: I've had many examples of american porters and enjoyed most of them . But this is the real deal. It's even brewed in jolly ole" England. I found it to be extremely balanced with every facet playing off of and complimenting the other. I also liked that it wasn't all hopped up like so many of its american counterparts. I can envision myself pounding back several pints of it with me mates at a London pub.

Appearance: Very dark, almost black; 2 finger, light brown head; excellent lacing

Aroma: Malty; roasted grain; coffee;

Taste: Juicy malt on start, quickly followed by bitter roast; bitter mid and finish; seems to be hoppier than a normal Porter, but not bad overall

Remarks: Very good British Ale

Did not score A, T, S, M at that time; disregard those scores

Appearance - almost black with ruby highlights. Tan head dissipates quickly.

Aroma - chocolate, coffee, and roasted malt.

Taste - chocolate at the front of the tongue gives way to a nice chicory-like bitterness.

Mouthfeel - silky with low carbonation.

Overall - an outstanding porter!
