Really cool place on the west end of 8th Av. in the Ybor City section of Tampa.
Parking is right next door and only 1/2 a block from city parking if the free is full.
BBQ buffet is available M-F from. 11-3 pm. Priced by the pound - currently $6.50/lb - except on Wednesday night. Good que and plenty of Bottles
The beer selection is really good. 32 taps and over a hundred bottles span the range from Belgians (Scaldis & Corsendonk) to locals like Cigar City. Bottle selection is as broad and delicious as the taps.
The look is really cool with an expansive, shaded outdoor area, a big L-shaped bar and a half dozen tables inside.
So far, this is the best craft beer place in Tampa. Too bad the don't brew their own anymore. C'est la vie.

Not a brewery but great selection and knowledge of beers. A hidden gem of ybor city. Most of the locals know this spot and flock here for great tap selection. We arrived one weeknight when a local brewer and brand were doing a tasting. They had the local brewer on tap that night. Sision not my thing but local home brewer and tasting ... they are doing something right. I've seen a quite birthday party, a crowded comedy night in the cold and rain and a decent band. This place needs to be on your next visit to ybor city. Food selection was lacking but well worth your visit.

So it's not actually a brewery, but it is a beer bar worth checking out in Ybor City. Also got to mention that i went there on a Monday night, so that probably factored into my experience there. I liked the vibe as soon as i walked in. You walk through an outdoor courtyard/beer gardern to get into the bar. There were a few tables occupied outside, and a few more customers inside seated at the bar, but it was not very crowded at all and totally chill. The woman working the bar was friendly and personable, and when we went back outside to sit and take advantage of the 70 degree weather (being from Baltimore in the middle of January), she also was our server. The beer selection is pretty much top notch. I had a Jai Alai, a sweetwater 420, and a Terrapin Wake'n Bake. There were plenty of other options i could have ordered too not distibuted in MD, as well as craft stables like DFH, Bells, etc and imports, esp Belgians. Food was also very good. I had a salad, and my buddy and i split a buffalo chicken pizza. The menu is not huge, but what we ordered was quality for sure. I enjoyed my evening there eating and drinking in a chill atmoshere, and was hoping to make it back before my week in Tampa was done, but was not able to. If i find myself back in the area in the future it will definitely be one of my stops.

This isn't really a brewery, but they do have one of the better beer selections in Tampa on tap and bottle. Located off the beaten path you get a bit quieter atmosphere than the rowdy main strip. Dimly lit, and open space. They get some very interesting bands that play here. Food is a little above your average bar food, and everything is reasonably priced. Bartender is able to actually talk to you, unlike most of the over-crowded bars in Ybor. This is a nicely hidden jewel if you like good beer.

A must stop for the thirsty BA in Tampa/Ybor City.
Selection? Perfect for a BA: 20 on draft on 11/24/03: PaulanerX3, Sierra Nevada, Chimay, Turbo Dog, Rogue Yellow Snow, Anchors Liberty and Steam, Belhaven, St. Bernardus etc etc. Two large fridges of bottles with a great number of Belgians unseen in many places. Fairly decent American representation in bottles, too.
Outdoor beer garden faces the street. Indoor cavernously dark room features free (!?!?!) jukebox with ska and Wilco, Gomez and indie, Taj Mahal and Billie Holliday. Motif of globes pervades every corner. Foosball table. Single TV turned off (unless the Bucs are playing or some such momentous occasion.) Service carried out by a guy who liked to talk beer, and was knowledgable, if a bit, well, proud of himself and his employer. It's not such a bad thing when your choices are this numerous, and we could all afford to lighten up a bit, but no server needs to appear like a beer elitist when there are concerts to be created. Still, food and beverages arrived at a snappy pace with a smile.
Food is limited to pizza. Great, inventive pizza, to be sure, but that's it. There are plenty of places in the area to get other food, if you so desire, but this is the best selection of beer. I'd mention it in the same breath as Papago, Eli Cannon's, the Great Lost Bear, Bukowski etc.

I think most of the previous reviewers have covered the basics here. NWB has a great selection of drafts and bottles, check the chalkboard behind the bar for recent additions & 86s. CASH ONLY, but there is an ATM inside. Excellent, eclectic juke box, too. This is a great stop to make after you've been out at a show or dinner or other bars when you're ready for a real beer. Outside is probably one of the coziest spots in Tampa to quaff. Live music very frequently and a mixed crowd, so the people watching is excellent. Sort of isolated from the rest of Ybor, so you can avoid the fools if you so desire. Oh, and they are dog friendly...another rarity in TPA...."Yappy Hour" on Sundays.

Very cool setting in Ybor City...rustic looking town, old school. Nice patio setting in the front. Seems filled with regulars.
Selection is rather decent for Florida, at least given my experience with Florida bars. One cooler full of 750's and another full of 12oz beers and a few 22's. Cooler stocked with Ommegang, St. Bernardus, Chimay, Vla-Dieu, Karmeliet, Koning, Rochefort, Schneider, Vicotry, La Chouffe, Dogfish, Great Divide, Stone, Leffe, Sam Smith...and many more! Tap selection consisted of Allagash Tripel, Delerium Tremens, Old Rasputin, Lagunitas Pils, Anchor Steam, Magic Hat #9, Turbo Dog, Hop Devil and a few others...good selection! Disappointed there was no Cigar City, but I hear they are behind on production so no fault to the bar.
Bartender was very helpful...knew his stuff. Overall a great experience and would come back if ever in town again.

This is not a brewery, despite the name. It is just a cool little beer bar, in an area of Ybor City that used to be quite bustling.
This place is super cool, super mellow, and just off the beaten path, in Ybor City terms.
Nice tap selections, perhaps 12-15. Reasonably priced bottles. Balanced selection between craft and import, with most imports tending to be Belgian, which is fine with me.
They frequently have nice entertainment, and usually a relaxed crowd. Some local talent performs, DJs, live art shows, bands from reggae to hip-hop to alt-rock, etc. As I said, usually mellow...

Atmosphere: Hidden little place in Ybor City with an amazing amount of charm. Visitors are greeted with a courtyard lit by neon signs with tables scattered around and a small fountain trickling peacefully in the middle. Unique signs of beer compaies are randomly scattered around the walls of the outdoor courtyard, which connects seamlessly to a covered patio area. This is connected to the main bar, which is indoors. The indoor decor is very unique, featuring a globe motif, with many unique and historic globes lining the walls and a giant old map of the world painted on the floor. Two foosball tables and an absolutely superb free jukebox serve as the main forms of entertainment, which kept me and my friends occupied for quite a while.
Service: Had a nice conversation with the bartender, who was both quick and knowledgeable about the beer he was serving. There was only one bartender at a time, which held things up a bit, but he was relatively quick with the orders coming to him. The pours were very consistent as well.
Quality: Proper glassware is generally used. Cash only, although they have an ATM inside the building. Very consistent draft pours throughout the night. Very clean place with good AC, even felt out on the patio.
Selection: One of the more thought out selections I've seen in the Tampa Bay area. I worked my way up from a Dale's Pale Ale to Lagunitas Censored to Chimay Cinq Cents to Old Rasputin, all of which were on tap, along with about 20 others. There is a wide bottle selection, consisting of mostly 750mL bottles but offering a seemingly very diverse selection of styles and breweries. There is a comprehensive menu available that shows you the draft and bottle choices available.
Food: There is a restaurant attached but it is only open during the day, so I wasn't able to sample the food there. I had a look at the menu, and it seemed like they had a good selection.
Value: I've seen better prices elsewhere in the country, but in Ybor, you can't really beat New World for their selection, service, and atmosphere. Even though I paid about a dollar more than in most places, there were also many choices available to me that I hadn't seen elsewhere in the region. In that respect I think it's a good value. The 8oz/25cL serving of the Belgians on tap were around 6$, which is definitely high... although the other offerings were more reasonable, being 4-5$ a pint, depending on the beer.
I'll be coming back here again soon. What a great bar - perfect atmosphere, great beer selection, and knowledgeable bartenders. Awesome place. I'll have to go back dring the day and try their food.

*Not a brewery, just a beer bar.*
They say when in Rome, do as the Romans do. When in Tampa, there are a few places that are "required reading" for us students of beer. New World Brewery is "required reading." Located right smack dab in the heart of hip Ybor City, New World offers indoor and outdoor atmosphere with benches, plants a covered deck, some nights they have live bands and it's dog friendly. The overall vibe is done-up warehouse.
Taps were impressive with some friendly regulars like Pilsner Urquell, Nostradamus and Duchesse De Bourgogne. There are some cold boxes behind the bar too.
The tender was quick and friendly. The inside-outside vibe is cool. Proper glassware earned points in my book. Could you bring your Mother here? Only if Mom likes to walk the dog and swig a brew on Sunday afternoon.
