Presentation: 500 ml tall brown Euro style bottle with a “best before end” freshness date on the back label.
Appearance: Nearly black with hues of tarnished ruby, thick powdery tiny bubbled lace lays on top then drops down to a thin stable lace.
Smell: Fruity with tones of prune and black currants, light alcohol esters are in the nose also. Malty with a mild spiciness in the aroma.
Taste: Bold and crisp upfront with a spicy tingle that is enhanced by the medium leveled carbonation. Solid and clean maltiness on the palate, crisp snappish wheat with undertones of caramel and bread. Hops are subdued with little in the flavour, fruity from middle to end with dark fruit flavours. Mild cocoa and husk flavours drawn on a dryness, alcoholic esters gather towards the end. Dry in the finish though there are a few left over residuals in the mouth so hold the body together far into the end.
Notes: Spicy with a clean zip, rich malty flavours from start to end. This makes for a near stellar brew of such a delicate style.

Labeled as "Erdinger Hefeweizen dunkel" in Germany -- tasted in Berlin.
Served in 0.5l branded weissbier glass. Presented as a dark, ruddy brown beer with some near black depth. Think, creamy foam lace with lost of stamina.
Slightly astringent, tight carbonation feel which induces a creamy mouthfeel and smoothness on the palate. Light malts, touch of chocolate, caramel and molasses. Hints of banana. Mineral body and flavour, with a thin citrus hop flavour that matches the malts and balances things out quite nicely.
A most delicious dunkel weissbier. A highly recommended brew ... from this expert weissbier brewer.

Murky brown color with a two finger off-white head with medium retention.
Light aroma of earthy hops and sligthly toasted malts and wheat.
Similarly, taste of toasted malt and wheat with earthy hops and notes of caramel and condiments.
Light body with medium carbonation and tiny bubbles. Zesty feeling.
A light body dunkel with good drinkability, though I found the other Erdingers more interesting.

The color is dark brown with a light brown head.
There is not much of an aroma, but of some banana and malt.
The taste does not fit the color. It's light like regular hefeweizens (wheat beers). It has a crystal malt taste. I would compare it almost to lighter fruitier red/brown ale.
The mouthfeel is light and the finish is easy. It's extremely drinkable and really a treat. I would have this many times again.

Poured from a 500 ml bottle into a Weihenstephaner hefe glass.
Color is dark chocolate brown with a good amount of ruby hues. Head is about two fingers thick with a good retention. Not a huge head for a dunkel. Decent lacing that does not stick much. Bubbly. Almost opaque.
Aroma is very thin. Strength is moderate to low. Wheat for sure. Typical hefe yeasts. Some roasted malts. Coffee. Caramel. Sweetness.
Taste is full of wheat. Some huge malts as well. Yeast is a lot. Coffee and caramel. A bit of roastiness. Finish is dry and semi sweet.
Mouth feel is full bodied. Good thickness and well rounded. High carbonation. Easy to drink and very pleasant. No astringency.

A-cloudy brown with a thin tan head that fades to nothing
S-dark German grains and caramel. Definitely smells tasty but not of high quality. Has an artificial aspect to it
T-comes in as it smells. Dark German grains and caramels. Tasty but once again it tastes slightly artificial as if caramel syrups were added to it. Nothing off to it, no bad flavors.
M-high carbonation with a semi dry finish
O-definitely not how an authentic German should be tasting. Still though, it's an enjoyable beer by all means. I just expect a lot more in terms of raw flavor.
