Bristol Bar is located in a rather seedy area near downtown columbus on E 5th Ave. Chances are you will miss this place at first because the one noticeable sign they have is a valet parking sign at street level. After you pass Summit and circle back you can get valet parking or find nearby street spaces.
Bristol seems like it was a house that was converted. The bar area is in a kitchen-type room with wood floors. There is also a lounge area and a really cool patio. The bar stools are kind of uncomfortable to sit in but the place has a nice cozy yet utilitarian feel since it seems like you're in a house where the owner spends a lot at Functional Furnishings.
The beer selection is fair. No dice on draft beers but the bottle selection boasts several choice brews from DFH, GLBC, Stone, Unibroue, Lindemans etc.
The service here was exceptional, possibly because I was the only person at the bar. The bartender complimented me on my choice of beer and we spent a few minutes discussing our favorite brews. He even took me on a quick tour of the place.
I didn't try the food, and I am not even sure they have any.
All in all this isn't a prime spot to swing by and have a beer due to the neighborhood and limited parking. But if in the immediate area it seems like a nice place to chill with some beer and friends on the patio.

This is one of those surreal locations that seems out of place and from a different time. Located in a rough section of town you're offered valet parking right at the entry so as to not to spend time on the street or walking from lots that are not for this spot.
The look is very upscale and metro. It almost looks like a scene from a movie shot in a ritzy metropolitan cocktail lounge. Lots of well-dressed young upwardly mobile types hanging at this spot with nary a football-watching beer guzzler in sight.
One very nice and crowded bar area and separate seating rooms with more intimacy. No draft beers offered here but as the young barman said, some very nice bottled selections from a short list. Notable from that selection was a favorite of many BAs - La Fin du Monde.
