A - a hazy pale golden, short head dissipated fairly quickly
S - wheaty and yeasty, mild tropical fruit aroma, light leafiness
T - a grainy musty start, sour citrus, bready with a strange mineral aftertaste
M - light with lower carbonation, even a little flat, with a somewhat bready finish
O - a pretty average brew all in all, and not quite what I was expecting from a cream ale, glad I only bought a single

Clear gold with large even head. Sweet honey and bread nose. Medium-light body with mild finish. A blonde ale with a little crispness. Revisited in 2023 and it fared better so I have increased some rating elements.

Pours from the bottle a surprisingly pale gold colour with just the hint of some orange around the edges (furthering my suspicion that *no one* has any idea what colour a cream ale is supposed to be). Slightly chill-hazed and with a solid head of white, rocky foam that recedes to about a half-finger but does have some staying power. Lots of lacing and lots of visible carbonation.

Smell is slightly fruity yeast (some blueberries?), hay, grass, a hint of biscuity malt. Cracker. Slight floral/fruity hoppiness in the distance, suggesting more aroma than bitterness.

Taste is initially surprisingly grainy but softens up. Decent malt body, with lots of biscuit and cracker, maybe the faint suggestion of some toasted malt. Again, yeasty fruitiness, and an ever-so-slight slight herbal hop. Light body (but not watery), and average carbonation. This goes down well, I must say.

When I say this is the kind of "craft" brew my Keith's swilling father would like, that's not a put-down: this is a nice, accessible beer that still has something to offer.

Serving Type: 341 mL Bottle

A- Pours a clear Blonde colour with a 1 1/2 finger white head.

S- Very mild aroma. Slightly grassy and malty. Faint yeast note.

T- Sweet maltiness backed by honey notes. No real bitterness to balance out the sweetness but I suppose it isn't overly sweet.

M- Thick/creamy mouthfeel. Medium-High Carbonation

O- Decent enough ale from a great Maritime microbrewery. Although the taste and aroma isn't anything to write home about, Cadian Cream Ale is a non-offensive craft option that is sure to please everyone, including your macro drinking buddies.

Pint on tap at the brewery's restaurant in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada.

Appearance: Pours a clear gold with a one-inch white head. Looks like a lager. Leaves some attractive lacing.

Aroma: This has a really faint nose. There's nothing offensive in it, but there's also kind of nothing in it. Some very, very faint yeast, maybe.

Taste: This beer has a nice balance of flavors. It almost kind of tastes like if half-and-half was made in beer form. That probably sounds terrible, but it's actually quite nice. It has a pretty good heft to it and sort of a creamy milkiness. Most "cream" ales use the adjective to describe the beer's heft or mouthfeel, but this one actually seems to apply it to the taste. No one flavor dominates, though there are some faint spices on the finish. I don't get any hops. No alcohol either.

Mouthfeel: This is a fun beer to drink. Nice cream-like smoothness, and easy on the palate. It's much denser than it looks, but it's also refreshing and easy.

Overall: This is an enjoyable, fairly simple beer that is certainly worth picking up in a mixed six or grabbing on draft if you can find it. It's sessionable and reasonably flavorful and accessible, but also has a pretty unique profile among cream ales - a style I enjoy, so maybe I'm partial.
