On tap at 2011 HAF, I volunteered at this station Thursday evening and we couldn't pour this fast enough!
Orange amber clear body, some visible carbonation, light amber white body, good visible carbonation. Very, very hoppy in the nose, piney, some citrus along with pronounced pine resin. Taste mirrors nose, one of the most hoppy beers at HAF along with the tricked up Ruination, like chewing on a Christmas tree, way out of balance in a good way for hopheads. Mouthfeel a bit on the light side of medium, good effervescence, a wee bit of stickiness, though finish is more dry than sticky. Pretty boozy, inhibits drinkability, though I saw a number of revelers opt for the full (14 oz., ugh) pour, probably due to high ABV. I agree with original reviewer, this isn't a quad, I'd probably classify as an Extra Strong Pale Ale, like C-Note on steroids, though I can't quarrel with the Triple IPA designation.

Served from a growler into a nonic pint glass.
Poured an orangish amber with a puffy white head this left a bit of lacing down the glass. Somewhat cloudy.
Beautiful smell. Mango and pineapple at first which gives way to orange peel and grapefruit. Sweet.
The taste follows the aroma with a quick hit of mango and pineapple with caramel malt that dissovled into an herbal citrus and pine hop bite. The booze is prevalent in the back.
Medium-bodied with just the right amount of carbonation to hold up the malt and hops.
Would drink a few of these if it weren't for the 10.6%.

A: Poured a amber color with good carbonation leaving a dirty white head
S: Wow. Hints at Belgian yeast, fruits like plums, figs, then some lighter fruits perhaps a mango, some spice and caramel
T: Earthy, plenty of hops for sure, back and forth from pine to citrus, blend of dark and lighter fruits, caramel, allspice, booze, you name it, its in there
M: Has a nice booze sting, medium to big body, body is nice for such a big beer, bubblegum and pop to it
D: Easy and pleasurable to drink

Elysian calls this a quadruple pale ale though to my senses the heavy emphasis on Amarillo flavor and dry-hopped aroma suggest an imperial IPA. The beer is elegant in appearance with a clear, oak-amber body showing thin but resolute lace. A notable presence of alcohol reminds us of the beer's formidable 10.6% ABV, but also lends a rugged masculinity as opposed to a distracting harshness. The beer otherwise manages to uphold a surprising balance and presents itself as noble and slow.
