Poured a medium dark golden amber with an orange hue, with medium foam and nice amount of lace on the side of the glass. The smell was of roasted malts, mild hops, spice and citrus. On the flavor that was evident was the mild hops and spices, along with the sour acidic taste of citrus on the palette. There was a hint of a spicy orange caramel with loads of other flavors all mixed together that it is hard to point out any paticualar one. A very nice suprise.

Reviewed from notes.
A. Light pale yellow with a vanishing foam collar for a head. No real retention time or lacing left behind.
S. Vague buttered corn and minimal pale malt.
T. Cooked vegetable medley and mild sweetness. Yuck.
M. Watery and thin, undercarbonated.
I'm not seeking this one out ever again.

Review from BeerAdvocate Magazine Issue #57 (October 2011):
Not half bad, but softer citric hops never really seem to win us over when in a lager. Somewhat drinkable and balanced, but lacking any real pizzazz. Chalk this one up to a good try. Perhaps this is one of those beers that needs a partner ... like lunch.
LOOK: Clear pale amber
SMELL: Fresh hay, sweet, biscuity, citric oil, clean
TASTE: Smooth, dry grain, hop oil, clean, crackers, citrus, spice

12 oz. bottle poured into a mug.
"Nova Scotia Style" Lager, brewed in St. Louis, MO?
Appearance: Pours a clear golden straw color, a bit darker than I expected. Big foamy white head with decent retention (for a couple minutes) and some lacing.
Smell: Caramel and grasses. Not bad, but not particularly "fresh" smelling like I'd hoped. The more I smell, the more a corn aroma comes out.
Taste: Malty flavor with a bit of grains and caramel. Not too much corn, but there's definitely a bit. The sweetness creeps in after a while.
Mouthfeel: Light- to medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. Generally smooth.
Drinkability: Decent, but not much there.
This is much more boring than it is bad. It is a bit too sweet as well.

A- Pours into a pint glass with a light golden amber body. Creamy white head forms to about a finger in size, good retention. A good pillow remains leaving nice spotty lace patterns.
S- Mostly just cereal grains and a light fruit sweetness. A slight metallic note.
T- Yeast bread, general grain flavor, light malt sweetness and a bit of fruit flavor are the main flavors here. Basal level of hops for the sake of balancing, grassy and floral.
MF- A bit of a foamy creamy feel to a light body with high carbonation. Finishes slightly bitter.
Nothing to complain about, a tad land with time but it doesn't fall off of a cliff or become off-putting.

Umm....what exactly is a Nova Scotia style lager? And then, it's labled as an "ale" in two places! WTF, eh? Forget it, on to the beer:
Toasted yellow color with a clean body filled with a wave of carbonation bubbles. The head pearched above is small, borderline fuzzy, and just hanging on. I don't know what's going on in the aroma, but I don't like it. It smells a tad buttery and mineraley, but the major turn off is its character of soapy dishwater washing onto dirty plates.
It's almost tasteless. It's a small improvement over dirty dishwater, but it doesn't take much to improve upon that. There's nothing but a vague cereal note and carbonation providing a seltzery bitterness. I'm having a difficult time finding other tasting notes, so let's cut to the mouthfeel. It is a light liquid that's almost watery, with squishy carbonation.
This is utterly hopeless. Even a skunky Moosehead is more pleasant among Canadian Maritime lagers. Nova Scotia, you deserve better than this.
