I think this beer is one of the best popular beers from Canada.

The taste is sweet and smooth, almost creamy. The malty taste is excellent. It even smells great. The lack of hops, however, is present.

Although on this occasion I reviewed it from a can (so a bit over-carbonated, thus a bit lower score for taste.) I highly recommend it on tap.

Serving glass: Poured from tap.

Appearance: Looks like a pale lager with a thin white cap. Well, some IPAs are really pale.

Smell: Smells like a pale lager with corn and light spicy hops. Uh oh.

Taste: Tastes like a pale lager. WTF? At least it tastes like a full flavored adjunct lager. Some light hops but still taste some corn.

Feel: High carbonation, light to medium body. Finish could use some help.

Overall: WTF

Rating by style, this is an absolute zero. Looks like your standard BMC fare; pale yellow fizzy water with a white film. Zero hop flavor/aroma, cooked corn flavor.

I'm not sure what they were going for with this brew, but they completely missed the mark if they were really trying to brew an IPA. This beer should be rebranded as an adjunct/light lager, as it's on par with PBR, Molson Canadian, Bud etc...

Terrible; avoid at all costs if you're looking for an IPA.

Overpriced, to begin with. Calling this an IPA is an insult to the style too. This is in the same ballpark as say a Molson Ex or a Labatt 50. Nothing special at all. An IPA... Where are the hops?! I wouldn't turn one down but i certainly wouldn't go searching for it... or buy it again for that matter.

This has been the best IPA I have ever tried. Keep in my mind the majority of the time traditional IPA beers are way to hopping or aggressive for my taste. This was clean and an easy drinking beer. It always is excellent in beer batter for frying fish. I drank it out of a bottle so I am not exactly confident on the appearance but everything else was great.
