Big Brother to our Mother’s Milk. It starts with our Mother’s Milk recipe, we then add copious amounts of brown sugar to add body and increase the alcohol content. Then, after primary fermentation, we infuse a cold coffee extract from our friends down the street, Monkey Joe’s Roasting Co.

Heck of a brew. Comparable to Founders Breakfast Stout

L: 4 opaque black, light tan head that disappates.
S: 4.25 bold. Malts, dark chocolate. Light roast coffee. Sugar.
T: 4.75 Very impressive. Hops are there along with everything on the nose.
F: 4.25 not overbearing thanks to the lactose.
O: 4.25 I'm keeping it a secret where I found it outside of the brewery lol

A: Black with off-white head. Some light gets through but mostly opaque.
S: Coffee, roasted malts.
T: Coffee all the way. Semi-sweet from the lactose but with a nice dry finish. Bitter but not overwhelmingly so, just like a nice strong cup of joe.
F: Medium-full bodied, very drinkable especially for the 8% ABV.
O: Great coffee stout. It's like cold brewed coffee with just the right amount sweetness upfront.

Poured into a nonic pint glass.
The appearance was a nice looking dark brown close to black color. Then a nice looking level off white foamy head slid off fairly quick. Mild sliding lace.
The aroma had some milk chocolate syrup up front with some sweet cream, brown sugar, caramel/toffee and some dessert biscuits.
The flavor totally leans into the sweetness of the prior mentioned aromas. Light cookie/baked wafer to toasty malty behavior combining to lead into the aftertaste.
The mouthfeel was between light and medium bodied with a nice sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt as projected by the brewer. An exceptionally smooth and creamy finish but somewhat watery, I must admit.
Overall, great aromas and flavors but if a bit more body was added this could be a real gem.

This is a very dark brown (SRM 30-35) Stout, with dark walnut highlights. A shallow, creamy chestnut head quickly dissipates to leave a fine coating of lace on a Harp nonic.

The initial aroma is reminiscent of iced black coffee in equal parts with soap. Roasted malt lurks in the background with a lactose sweetness. Late in the session, coffee takes on a latte and milk chocolate quality.

Roasted malts are upfront, followed by toasted wheat bread and black coffee. The finish is long and robust. Light bitterness remains throughout, fairly well balanced against sweetness.

A full body and creamy texture with alcohol as expected. Carbonation is modest and prickly. The beer is a little chewy with metallic notes.

In my opinion, Imperial Stouts should be richer and more complex than this is. However, style aside, this beer can be nursed along after a long day. I enjoyed it on a beautiful early Spring afternoon and think it would pair well with grilled sirloin.

L - Murky coffee. Greyish-tan 1/4 inch head.

S - coffee, burnt malts, root beer, smoke

T - coffee, bitter hops, burnt malts

F - Medium body/texture. Dry. Quite effervescent.

O - The label on each bottle of Joe Mama's Milk Stout reads: "Coffee Added". It should be corrected to read "Joe Mama's Coffee Stout...Milk added". I'm a big fan of coffee stouts. This tastes like a coffee stout. If you're in search of a milk stout a la Southern Tier's 2XStout "Milk Stout"... you won't find it here.

Solid beer. Pours thin but consistent with the style. Smells sweet and roasty. Taste follows the smell but finishes rather sweet even for the style. The feel is also what you would expect for the style, light and thin. Overall a solid example; though not much coffee.

I enjoyed this bottle with my brother, poured chilled in a half pint.

The color is appropriately dark with coffee brown color and tan head. The smell is fresh coffee with a sweetness and lots of nutty earthy aroma with a slight cocoa quality. The feel is great with smooth bitterness of beans and nutty roasty and slight sweetness with a creamy texture and mild acidity with good malt body and semi-sweet finish.

The taste is a sweet coffee with creaminess of lactose in flavor and dark sugar with chocolate malt in the taste and a subtle toast character from malt in the taste with lactose and coffee giving a creamy sweetened coffee taste with lasting bitter flavor from the beans. This is a very smooth stout for 8%, did not have any alcohol flavor to speak so Very quaffable -I would drink this regularly if I could get it -don't hesitate to try it if you are a fan of coffee flavored stout. This is a well made beer with nice coffee in taste.
