Thanks to juliusseizure (Reddit) for this one, no date on the IPA.

Pours a light fizzy almost 1 finger head that fades at a med pace, some lacing, over mostly clear coppery orange colored beer.

Nose brings some hops, light candy like hops with a little orange peel, some light pine and earthy hops, and just a bit of fruity hops with that. There is a light toasty caramel malt underneath it, with some toffee that adds to the candy hop flavor.

Taste is malty at first, caramel nutty reddish toasty malts, semi sweet and little syrupy, again candy is a key word. Hops bring candy hops again, light candied orange peel, as well as a bit of pine and light grassy flavors, with and earthy hop demeanor. Again light fruity and chewy hops. Fair amount of bitterness but not a lot, and mostly a sweet caramel nutty toffee malt mostly dominating. Finish is drier with a bigger bitterness, lingering candy hops, light grassy pine and chewy like hops, with light caramel malts as well.

Mouth is med bodied, decent fluffy carb.

Overall, OK but not great. Malts are decent but more of a red ale style than IPA, even for an east coast IPA, and hops are not what the American palate has come to expect for American IPA, this one being mostly earthy, candy chewy like with just a bit of pine and slightest orange peel like.

From 03/29/13 notes. Picked this up about a week before at City Swiggers for $2.49/12 oz. bottle. Poured into my Bell's tulip.

a - Pours a hazy, dark reddish amber color with one finger of fluffy white head and moderate carbonation evident. Has lots of lacing left on the glass.

s - Smells of toasted malts, caramel malts, fruity malts, and some light citrus hops. Not bad but not very hoppy at all; lots of malts in the nose.

t - Tasted of citrus hops, pine hops, fruity malts, caramel malts, toffee, wheat, and bready malts. Malts are still there but a lot more hops than the nose had too...the pine is nice.

m - Medium body and moderate carbonation. Body is pretty smooth. Easy to drink.

o - Overall a nice beer but like the Double Dorado I had before it, a little too malty for me on the IPA front. More hops were present in the taste than the nose, but still a lot of caramel and malts. Worth checking out but wouldn't get it again if I was looking for something hoppy.

Nice copper/amber color with soft off white head. Modest bit of lacing.

Nose is predominantly piney with some very soft hints of citrus. Not a powerful aroma.

Taste is simple but decent. Good bite of pine again with a hint of grapefruit to sweeten it a bit. Shortlived dry hop finish.

Mouth feel is pretty full actually with a lot of sharpness in the finish from the hops.

Pretty good overall, a very simple, straight forward IPA. Not going to blow any minds, but a good option to have around when the beer store is closed and the fridge is empty...

Coppery color. Aroma is a bit faint for an IPA, but a smooth earthy hop smell comes through. Nice citrusy taste and solid body in the mouthfeel. Overall, a nice drinking IPA. Not in my top ten, but I'd enjoy a six pack in the fridge.
