Hitachino Nest DaiDai is a very unique brew, “Kiuchi/Hitachino” philosophy with highly focused notes of orange/mandarin, quite dry in the finish. Kiuchi Brewery uses a special, very rare type of orange called “Fukure Mikan”

Found a single, was expensive, worth the novelty. But not another.
A: A hazed orange/golden color. Small head that dissipated quickly. Some lacing left on the glass.
S: Not a strong smell. DaiDai is a Japanese bitter orange. So orange, yeast, grassy stink, fruit ices.
T: Follows the smell, but very pleasant, with sweet orange, then hops which are present but not overwhelming. Nice dry tangy finish. A real IPA, with less hops bite and more orange sweet. Original.
M: Tangy, light, and medium carbonated. A bit fizzy.
O: Bottle says " Ale brewed with orange peel" It is very enjoyable and the sweet citrus and bitter citrus interact well, but it was too expensive by far for what you get.

Poured into the Guinness pint leaving a three inches white head. It’s a standard 330ml elegant bottle and an ABV of just 6%.
Light amber color, almost orange.
Smell is orange/orange peel, slight piney notes. A bit floral.
The taste follow the nose, orange, herbal, a bit of lingering bitterness. Tasty, not overly sweet, either.
Mouthfeel is fairly smooth with low carbonation.
Overall: this is a great IPA from the Japanese brewery. I’ve had three from them at this point but I’d love to seek out more if possible.
Compared to other classic American IPA; this is not as hoppy but it’s their own take on the style and it’s a win for me.

Been wanting to buy this for quite some time, was lucky in the end I could get it at a Walmart/Seiyu Sunny store. Only one place, nowhere else.
Okay gotta say that “daidai” is a kind of Japanese (or maybe old Chinese?) orange, usually used for decoration at New Years, not that much for eating, for being a bit on the bitter side. Now I’m not sure if this “Fukure Mikan” is a kind of daidai (guess not as mikan is rather tangerine then an orange) but still it is very tasty. The beer was actually made with this citrus, even had pulp in there. That and the aroma hop made it very exquisite.
I love oranges and had a few orange-indused beers before but this one is one I could relate to. They didn’t overdo the taste, by which I mean it was not like an orange juice, they kept the beer and added the extra citrus overtone.
Hitachino Nest is maybe the best brewery in Japan and they make outstanding beers that is world-renowned. This one is no exception, was quite a decent beer.

pours a clear near-amber body with a white head that has moderately low retention and leaves no lacing behind as it settles to a murky cap
aroma is faint, sweet citrus and light resinous pine; the citrus is unique and not quite orange, but orange adjacent for sure
taste is semi-sweet citrus with the same faint resinous pine; it's quite juicy and pleasant, with a unique citrus tinge to it
mouthfeel is medium-light bodied with moderate carbonation that runs juicy and finishes dry, leaving that citrus funk in the aftertaste
overall:
quite enjoyable, and worth it if only for the unique citrus notes, but overall a fairly average IPA

Another pour from BeerNV after coming down from Mt. Rose. Drinking this stuff on tap is so much cheaper than by the bottle.
Pours a light beige/amber color, lacks clarity. 1/2" off white head, poor retention. Definitely a citrus rind like aroma. Light almost Vienna lager like feel to the malt nose.
Taste reminds me a bit of Nevada's most famous beer, Icky. I think this is better than Icky, but not by too much. The orange addition is nice, its basically a malty English ipa, but the citrus addition gives it an approximate feel like it had a better than English hopping rate. It still is kind of heavy mouth feel wise. Tastes a bit like an amber ale with orange. Just doesn't have the hopping bitterness or flavor like almost every other ipa does. At this point, I guess I'd just call it an English ipa with orange. Decent enough but glad I didn't resort to buying a bottle, much less 4 or 6 of them. What bitterness there is seems to be derived from everything but the hops.

Amber color with a minimal light tan head, the nose is citrus, especially oranges, and that directly correlates to the taste, with ripe orange flavors. Nice dry mouthfeel, this is a beer I’d have again.

Great appearance, light amber color with minimal head. Incredible feel, very tangy orange beginning with a great hoppy finish. Very happy with this beer.

330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 6.0%. Orange to amber colour, only slightly hazy. Moderate head, slightly off-white. Aroma of oranges (some of them decaying) / orange peel / orange marmalade, some grainy and piney notes too. The flavour is better, fruity with oranges again, but not too sweet. Moderate bitterness. Soft mouthfeel. Pleasant to drink.

11.2 oz bottle served in a tulip glass. Date stamp DA20.01t
Appearance: Mostly clear orange/amber color with a thin off-white foam. Small islands and strands of persistent lacing.
Smell: Orange, orange peel. A tiny bit floral.
Taste: Orange, bready sweetness from the malt, citrus peel / pine bitterness at the finish. A little bit of some lingering bitterness as well that is a bit herbal.
Mouthfeel: Very smooth, a bit sticky on the teeth. Light carbonation.
Overall / Drinkability: A delicate and well-balanced AIPA. It's not super hoppy, and it's mild by American standards, but, it does fit the style and has a Japanese take to it that I find quite enjoyable and refreshing. I would not mind having another, and I feel this would be great during the summer. This went well with lime/soy/onion marinated chicken and rice, and I believe it would pair with a lot of other foods as well.

330ml bottle - dark golden colour with a foamy head that dissipated quickly. Faint sweet citrus smell. Less bitter than most IPA but still with good hoppiness. Very light mouthfeel and smooth drinking. Tasted lighter than the abv suggested. Would be better if there is a stronger Japanese Mikan aroma and flavour which were advertised on the bottle. Nevertheless very solid and decent beer.
