Poured from 12 oz bottle into a snifter.

A: Very dark brown. Pours a 1 finger, bubbly, brown head. Settles quickly, leaving a smattering of bubbles and a ring around the rim. Slight spotty lacing.

S: Roasted malt, roasted espresso, lots of sweet dark chocolate and cocoa. Really grainy.

T: Bitter, roasted, nutty coffee. Unsweetened dark chocolate.

M: Peaty bitterness. Just a hint of unsweetened dark chocolate in the finish which kind of lingers. Something of an oily feel.

D: Sip and savor.

Atmosphere is pretty good. Nice hue, decent head, and fair lacing. Nose is really strong combination of roasted malt and coffee, with lots of chocolate and cocoa. Peaty, bitter, roasted coffee and chocolate. Really grainy and nutty. Overall, this is a really good quaff.

A - Dark black-brown with a finger of frothy khaki-chocolate colored head. Fades normal.

S - Roasted chocolate and caramel malts, molasses, roasted coffee, black licorice, touch of vanilla.

T - Dark chocolate and caramel malts, roasted coffee, molasses, black licorice, a touch of vanilla and dark fruit.

M - Medium-full bodied with moderate carbonation. Smooth with a sweet, roasted, and dry finish.

D - Nice coffee stout. Good overall balance.
